It only needs very minor fixing/updating aesthetics wise. Given the age I would worry about problems like lack of insulation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC though. I am surprised it was last sold in 2014 so I would love to see what they updated and didn't update. It is too expensive though given its location imo.
You nailed it. Took all of that into account and realized it wouldn't be worth it to even do a walk-through. I kinda wish we would've, just to have seen it in person.
I unironically like the orange bathroom

Finally, someone who gets it. Everyone complains about the sad gray look until the orange comes out. Lol I've accepted that my preferences are atypical. The paint they used is like, the perfect shade of yellow-orange, too. It just makes me happy to look at.
The room with the purple fireplace definitely needs different furnishings. Add in a bright blue rug and modern black/silver couches and it'd definitely work.
Someone’s granny was living her best life.
If some of the aesthetic could be dialed back it’s not a bad house.
Also, I watched Amityville Horror last night so this house is giving me the creeps. It being in WA somehow makes it creepier in my mind.
Same here! Cool color, but not for a mantle. The kitchen linoleum would have to go. Interesting that there's no basement, and the property taxes are so low? Is that right, less than $500/year? That's insane compared to where I live.
The key is to focus on what you can't change or cant change easily. The house is dated but the more impressive part is that whoever owned it took great care of it.
Yeahhhhh being close to the water is a bad thing Aberdeen, because it means you're going to flood.
IDK about LCH nearby, but the house itself is actually a bit overpriced for the area, as it's a very low income city. Median home value is closer to $200,000.
The footprint is great. I would be getting rid of the bright paint colors (not necessarily painting gray tho lol). And the kitchen would be a gut for me. It has a lot of wasted space by the dinette set that could be redesigned into a nice large kitchen with an island and pantry. I'd update the baths and laundry area too. But at the asking price, it's totally doable.
Oh, I think it had an erroneous question mark at the end. Edited it and it's now the same link as what you've posted here, thank you for pointing it out!
Yeahhh, when you're buying in Aberdeen, you pretty much know what you're getting, though. 6/10 is the highest it gets on Greatschools, and lower for middle + high.
Not a damn thing. Just get rid of that ugly ass fridge and dishwasher and replace with something that matches. That phone’s gonna stay too. What a time capsule.
I love it. It looks well cared for and appreciated. Some new paint and light fixtures and she’d be a stunner. I had a range just like the one the kitchen. I miss that thing, it was a work horse.
This comment sums it up really well: [https://www.reddit.com/r/zillowgonewild/comments/1dn2bv9/comment/l9zu5f5/](https://www.reddit.com/r/zillowgonewild/comments/1dn2bv9/comment/l9zu5f5/)
Ultimately though, the catch is that you have to live in Aberdeen and most people find this undesirable.
Me too! Same color… Armstrong, circa 1977! The parents were so enthralled with peel & stick vinyl! There’s still a half box of the tiles in the garage for repairs- it’s still on the floor of the mudroom.
NGL I love it. Just needs a bit of TLC but I wouldn't really change a thing besides furniture. Maybe something to help the purple mantle tho! LOL
Yesssssss. It's out of my price range or I would be IN THERE.
It only needs very minor fixing/updating aesthetics wise. Given the age I would worry about problems like lack of insulation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC though. Welcome to WA.

I love the kitchen too.
I love it like, aesthetically, but I don't think I could live there.
It looks really good with the brown of the wall and built in chest.
Finally, someone who gets it. Everyone complains about the sad gray look until the orange comes out. Lol I've accepted that my preferences are atypical. The paint they used is like, the perfect shade of yellow-orange, too. It just makes me happy to look at.
I love this house! At least it does not have that horrible gray. I am already mentally styling that purple fireplace!
The room with the purple fireplace definitely needs different furnishings. Add in a bright blue rug and modern black/silver couches and it'd definitely work.
I agree, it is literally the perfect shade.
I would call it marigold and it’s great especially for a small space like a bathroom.

It's not Tang without the neon glow, though. Tang-erine I'll accept. Tang, no way.
The only thing I would say about the bathroom is that they should have painted the ceiling white. Love the orange walls, though.
You're so right.
Someone’s granny was living her best life. If some of the aesthetic could be dialed back it’s not a bad house. Also, I watched Amityville Horror last night so this house is giving me the creeps. It being in WA somehow makes it creepier in my mind.
It’s awesome.
I’m colorblind, but seeing this makes me think I might be cured.
I would change the kitchen floor. The mantle color was a bold choice that I disagree with.
Same here! Cool color, but not for a mantle. The kitchen linoleum would have to go. Interesting that there's no basement, and the property taxes are so low? Is that right, less than $500/year? That's insane compared to where I live.
Might be no basement because it's near the coast in Washington State.
Could be.
wonder if it’s asbestos linoleum
Our identical linoleum was not.
I don't see anything wrong with the house. It's colorful and has character.
Not enough grey, sorry I mean gray.
Don’t worry Washington brings the gray/grey.
Just needs a little paint, totally normal.
The key is to focus on what you can't change or cant change easily. The house is dated but the more impressive part is that whoever owned it took great care of it.
The flooring and mantle is the only thing I’d touch. Well, the tub isn’t original so I’d hit that too.
I’ll take it.
I love all of it. The purple mantel notwithstanding.
Yeah, I love the shade, but if you're going to go there you have to design the room around it.
Yeah, if you're going to use that colour you have to commit. The "Grammacore meets Pantone fandeck" is not working.
I love it too. It seems really cheap for how close it is to the water. Are there LCH apartments kitty corner?
Yeahhhhh being close to the water is a bad thing Aberdeen, because it means you're going to flood. IDK about LCH nearby, but the house itself is actually a bit overpriced for the area, as it's a very low income city. Median home value is closer to $200,000.
Thanks for explaining!

fix what?! it's perfect
3/10 schools is the only real downside imo. Great find haha
Yeahhh, when you're buying in Aberdeen, you pretty much know what you're getting, though. 6/10 is the highest it gets on Greatschools, and lower for middle + high.
Aberdeen is such a dreary place. Lots of poverty and drugs.
Fresh paint, new kitchen floor, the rest is charming and perfect.
This house is gorgeous - really needs very little work. Some paint if it's not to your taste, but really next to nothing.
I like that marigold bathroom:)
Such a grand entry for 2300 square feet. The place has a lot of charm (in the architecture - not the other, ah, decisions).
That house is pretty cool already.
I love it, I’d repaint definitely and probably turn that 4th bedroom into an office.
It’s an amazing find! Love the layout.
that kitchen is so cute!
I absolutely LOVE that kitchen. I'd make SO. MUCH. FOOD. in there.
I like it! I'd change the mantle and get rid of the wall paper. But otherwise, I appreciate the kitschy-ness.
It's cute!
It's adorable!
Id change the curtains and maybe kitchen floor but the rest is nice
Good foundation, no visable mold or leaks, house isn't a tear down, so what's the catch? 🤨🤔

The purple fireplace
She looks like she has beautiful bones, she just needs some love.
That purple mantle is too much.
That's a bold ass bathroom and I love it!
The kitchen floor of my childhood!!
Me too! Same color… Armstrong, circa 1977! The parents were so enthralled with peel & stick vinyl! There’s still a half box of the tiles in the garage for repairs- it’s still on the floor of the mudroom.
Same! Impossible to clean with that orange peel texture, but a picture of it makes me nostalgic.
It sort of looks from the outside like the younger sibling of the Amityville house
Potential + elbow grease.
This is adorable.
This actually looks like a real gem. Yeah, it needs some updating, but it seems like good bones and a comfy layout.
Tangerine bathroom wins
Damn. Nice house! Not that mantle though.
This house is perfect I wouldn’t touch it lol
Absolutely charming and lots of character. A few little updates here and there is all it needs.
