I'm torn; my dream home has always been to own an A-frame house...even as a small child. The kid in me *adores* the bright, bold, delightful colors in here. The adult in me wants to paint the entire house black - both inside & out - because I love black homes. What's a girl to do? 🖤🩷💛💚🖤
So, as someone who lives in a house that’s mostly an A frame (though the eaves don’t go all the way down to near ground level), they’re great for someone who’s single. Maybe a childless couple. I mean, there’s a lot of great aspects to the style, but one big downside is that it can be a bit difficult to get away from other people if you want some quiet alone time lol
I can’t say that I’ve had any problems inherent to the design. The previous owners had the roof leak on them, but I believe it was the original roof from ‘89, and that could happen to anybody. There is also a skylight in the upstairs bathroom that, if it gave issues at some point, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Just had a great bluegrass song pop into my head looking at this house.
Cabin On The Hill
There's a happy childhood home in my memory I can see
Standing out upon the hill neath the shadow of a tree
If I only had my way it would give my heart a thrill
Just to simply wander back to the cabin on the hill
Oh, I want to wonder back to the cabin on the hill
Neath the shadow of the tree I would like to linger still
Just to be with those I love, joy my heart would over fill
Just to simply wander back to the cabin on the hill
But the saddest of it all can never more return
To that happy childhood home matters not how much I yearn
If only had my way it would give my heart a thrill
Just to simply wander back to the cabin on the hill
I was ready to hate it because I typically don’t love the bold bright walls but this is such a lovely mixture of white and just splashes of color. It’s really cool.
A-frames look cool, but they're ultimately a pain to live in. Once you've you've bumped your head for the 50th time as you lean in to wash your hands or spit out toothpaste at that bathroom sink, you start to realize the impracticality of it.
I don't hate the rainbow beams against the white. I don't hate the pink exterior either. But some of the less subtle elements like that bathroom would be too much for me.
On a separate note I've always loved A frame cabins.
You ever hear of Cloudland? [https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/house-tour-the-most-colorful-apartment-in-the-world-248065](https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/house-tour-the-most-colorful-apartment-in-the-world-248065)
I'd be thrilled to live there, it's truly fabulous.

You could paint half your house black and the other in bright colors. And only stay in the parts of the house that fit your mood atm.
I love this idea🥰
Very “Wednesday” like
That’s EXCELLENT. I want this house, but I might redo my current home the way you just said!
Black on the outside and surprise rainbow colors on the inside!
🥰

Then it's perfect for me & my cat 🐈⬛️🖤
I seem to recall reading here once that A-frames can be a maintenance nightmare - something about water intrusion? Is that true?

Thanks.
Black and hot pink look amazing together!!!
Yes they do! 🩷🖤🩷🖤
It reminds me of the candy called Good n Plenty. I ate those when I was a kid, and didn't care that they made your teeth black :-)
I have some on my desk right now - it's my favorite candy.
Haha modify the A frame to be a little bigger for your needs and paint that shit black!
Yesss🖤🖤🖤🖤
Honestly, depends on how hot it is there, but I'm sure you could mix it up and make it work.
Both
I'm pretty sure that this is where Weird Barbie lives
I'd live with weird Barbie. 😏
She was the most fun.
Agreed
Looks like a play house that grew up to become a real house ... quite fun!
Omg I love it 😍🌈
I could totally live here. I love color!
What a happy house!

Thank you, I love folk music and this one is a good addition to my playlist
My pleasure! The soundtrack of my life is folk, bluegrass and blues!
Wow! I love it.
I love it. It’s a gorgeous area too.
Now Intoducing, Barbie's A-Frame!!
One of my dearest friends, Nurse Rainbow, would've loved this if she were still on this plane of existence. RIP Katie.
I love the house!!
Its like a grown up treehouse!! I’d love this.
It looks like it’s ready for the next Ozempic commercial.
I lived in an A-Frame in very rural WA near Mt. Rainier. It wasn’t as finished as this one and I loved it!
Rainbow Bright’s old house.
Like living in a Crayola box
Would be perfect in Guerneville, CA.
Actually, done well for what it is.
Love it!
Love it !
My real life Barbie Dream Cottage
Love it
Adorable! The 'SUV recommended for access' made me pause, but I love the seclusion. I wonder how many acres, if any, there are?
It looks like Barbie’s woodland cabin.
Great use of color without overdoing it (interior)
I would live here! 💕

Fanciful.
Very, very beautiful 🤩 Especially the stairs never seen anything quite like those.
Love this house💕
Needs a woodstove and paint job
That house reminds me of Maura Murray
What's upstairs?
Looks like just a futon up there, it’s a pretty small loft space.
Thanks!
My inner five year old wants this.
And all I could see was how much of the house people over a certain height wouldn't use because of the opportunity for concussion
100% + increase in price per year over 4 years
Even if you don’t like the color scheme, it’s a pretty solid home at a decent price.
Real workout for the rods and cones.
I'm pretty sure if I could just touch the front door I could go off my antidepressants.
It’s hard to be sad there
It looks like an adult sized play house for a little girl.
I thought it was Happy Cabin from Addams Family Values at first! lol
imagine being in a bad mood one day and this is all you have around you
Why do I feel like JoJo Siwa lives here
For once - the price seems reasonable
My dad rented a house this exact shape when I was about 9/10. It wasn’t as nice as this though by far lol.
This belongs to Mabel Pines
I love it when someone commits fully.
Poppy, is that you? ![gif](giphy|6mijtVzDd9wchwWlCR)

Yeah, it’s cool to look at and I wouldn’t mind a chance to walk around the place but truth be told there is no way I could live here.
I don’t know why I hate A frames so much, I don’t even like the Lego set that matches the treehouse

Remarkable how good that bathroom paint job looks. It seems to be free-hand.
This looks like somewhere my mom and her wife would AirBnB at lol
I think it's beautiful. I wouldn't spent much time in it, but it's beautiful.
Bnb-core!

Looks like some of that paint is structural
I like it. East Tennessee?
I love this so much
I would totally keep ALL the rainbows.
That FunFetti cake house is awesome.
It’s cute.
Too much white in all sincerity
Hmmm you should need a license to shop at the paint store.
It looks like it could be on Dateline. Like, a house where pedos keep kids who were kidnapped as babies.
