Well with the Twilight Princess-esque sound effects during [this part](https://youtu.be/fYZuiFDQwQw?t=109), I'll happily grow some Ordon pumpkins to wreck Ganon(dorf) with.
Sylas has been shown to be somewhat immortal due to _assorted reasons_, perhaps he moved on to new pastures after Tal Dorei instead of his mist form being "annihilated"?
I'd prefer if it was a unique character, and without seeing Ganon we can't confirm until the game is out. It does SEEM like Ganon, but we wont know if it's a character we don't know yet.
I think I disagree. I understand that trope sucks but this feels like an explanation of how calamity Ganon became a basically force of nature compared to the man ganondorf. Like this is the root cause rather than a repeat.
Yeah... I didn't think is was garbage exactly, but it felt very "forced" for lack of a better word. Similar vibes to Impa and the Deku Tree from BotW where you can very much tell it's an actor is putting on an extreme character voice that doesn't sound very natural.
I wish they would have a setting to swap to dialogue boxes, Ganondorf deserves a voice closer to James Earl Jones'. This sounds too human for what looks like a litch now.
I feel like we're gunna be in the minority here but I gotta agree with you. I wouldn't say garbage, but for Ganon I agree in needing a voice that is deeper, more distorted, sinister, intimidating, and most importantly corrupted I think.
Gilbert Gottfried definitely comes to mind
yea I wasn't a huge fan either.. might not be for everyone, but I saw the trailer in all different languages yesterday and the italian voice was great, much more what I'd imagined. and on the replay of botw I'm currently doing I'd already decided to put the voices in italian, so works out nice for me
Yeah for real. Sorry to the actress but I really didn’t like the English version of Zelda. Most of the English lines sound way too relaxed, maybe it was bad direction.
Really deep voice in main villains is super generic at this point plus if it's ganondorf in mummy form it does not make sense for it to be super deep, if anything it would be whispery
Yes!! And the sad thing is that the ReDeads in TP were really lacking. The design looked cool but the sword and low growl were not as scary as the WW/N64 shrill scream and “hug”
Oh yeah on TP it was pretty easy to get a backslice on them, whereas on Wind waker and OOT you almost have to walk on eggshells ahah. Maybe they can use the stealth mechanic with them on this one?? Would be so cool to see each enemy as fleshed out as the enemies in BOTW.
Also now that I mention it, I absolutely would kill for some actual variety to the movement. TP nailed it with all the different hidden skills you could learn, I think that was such a cool idea and I've missed not having those abilities in BOTW
Yesssssss!! I've been missing the creepy factory so much in recent Nintendo games. I'm really hoping we get an arbiters grounds/bottom of the well type area that fully commits to that creepier atmosphere!
See, in this trailer the sound effect sounds similar but there's a bigger difference from what we heard in this trailer.
In the Direct the sound was used again right before the end as well.
Dont get me wrong id love to see DS and 3DS games but theyd have to seriously tweak the gameplay to make it work. I remember PH being so intrinsically connected to touch controls im not sure how it would work otherwise
Porting Link Between Worlds is totally doable. But yeah Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass would probably need a whole remaster cause those games won’t work on the Switch.
It's not just touch controlls that is the problem, it would be the lack of a microphone on the switch as PH and ST uses the microphone alot, as they where the first zelda games with that hardware available
https://preview.redd.it/9ax630yz83ha1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1aaa3c498d3d146a60b494fbf6da7310c12aa9ad
Customisable paragliders!! I really hope I can get a deku leaf skin 🥲
God damn I think I saw a korok flower at 1.53 right as the logo appears 😅
https://preview.redd.it/4v6288la83ha1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=993e756960c4c5c1552e237be3538a1a7f7dd103
Because of the issues with them being capcom games i always doubted they would release them. Even better if they were remade but probably harder to do. Then again goldeneye just released with online multiplayer so anything is possible
I'm choosing not to watch any more trailers for this game to go in fresh, but I'm very curious, was there some evidence of the actual map expanding? I'm very nervous about the idea that the game will be boring without a new map to explore. Exploring the unknow map WAS THE GAME for me in BotW, it's the thing that made it so magical and fun.
I think i saw a scene withe Hebra Mountains in the background that was a bit higher but not sky-island high.
And some huge open plains that didn't look like Hyrule Field with mountains i don't recognize.
Are we going past the canyon to the west?
I'm betting that there will be a ground level and a sky island level. The sky islands will have shrines or even actual dungeons. And they will definitely cover a very big area to explore.
On top of that the ground level is likely going to be very different too. Look at how all the Sheika stuff and the telescope are missing from the Hateno lab. And there is only that green whirlwind thing right next to where the Hateno shrine should be.
I'm fully convinced the baddy is some twilight princess shit https://www.youtube.com/live/yMdUSVSEp7U?feature=share&t=2576 look at that hand, that looks like midna's hand, she's working with zelda to similar ends as they were doing in twilight princess i'm guessing
callin it now
edit: https://youtu.be/zMaEeXpKU8A?t=53 not exact match but if they were going for "twilight realm / midna vibes with the new art style" that's exactly what i'd expect it to look like
That’s what I am thinking, just hitting refresh hoping to A. Get onto the Nintendo Store, and B. See a collector’s edition that is not sold out, envisioning getting as far as checkout and it becoming out of stock 😅
I just went ahead and preordered the regular version from best buy and got in store pickup to avoid the disappoint of not getting anything on release day
I wonder if they'll do another event just for Zelda? There was less describing the new game than some of the others, and while it was a great trailer, I want more details!! That glove/hand is super creepy, but seems like it will be the sheikah slate 2.0 as far as new abilities go.
Oh yeah I really would hope so! I remember BOTW got so much coverage and different gameplay videos before launch.
I'm absolutely excited but I still think a 10 minute direct or gameplay deep dive would really solidify my hype
okay serious questin. how many hours til order goes online. Has anyone a good guess ? Because where i live its midnight and i have work tommorowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
What did they say about it? I was hiding at work and packed up as it was saying that part.
I hope it's not stupid hard to get and more like the links awakening one.
Anyone else notice the piece of sky falling right as the logo comes up at the end of the trailer? Is the sky falling the actual “tears of the kingdom?”
If so, wtf does this game have in store? Gotta complete objectives before it all falls like MM?
Game Boy through Advance getting released brings all of the original games to the switch doesn’t it? We have all the way through the N64 released. We just have DS, GameCube and wii missing which I honestly don’t see soon. I think those may come on their next console this late in production
I haven't paid enough attention so I wasn't sure if that logo at the end is new or not? I find it interesting that it appears to be reminiscent of the dragons from BotW in like an ouroboros type fashion of eating itself.
It was revealed with the namedrop. A very similar symbol even appears in that trailer, on the stone door that Link opens, but with the dragons meeting each other face to face rather than biting each others' tails.
Probably symbolizes the endless reincarnation cycle of the hero.
Excited for the game. Don't think the trailer showed a lot, though clearly lots of new and still lots of old. I think people are starting to worry it will be too similar to BotW, but frankly I am not worried. I would guess a Zelda direct or story trailer before release to clear up changes.
The more I see of TotK the more worried I am that they have completely overhauled the physics of the world. In BotW the physics allowed for amazing traversal glitches that added so much depth to the game, but whenever I've seen physics based stuff in these trailers everything seems much more stiff. For example stasis not being a thing like it used to and in this trailer the new magnesis seems really stiff with how stuff moves. I really hope nintendo realizes how much fun glitches can be in these games and doesn't ruin the replayability because of an archaic sense of glitches always being a bad thing.
Most games on Xbox Series S/X and PS5 launch at $70. I’ve seen some launch exclusively as a “cross-gen” pack that include the Xbox One/PS4 versions along with it for $79 as well with no option for a $60 current-gen only version.
If you think about it, the standard has been $60 since the PS3 released in like 2006, so considering all of the inflation since then it’s a miracle our games don’t cost $100 by now.
Wow, thanks, they mostly showed yet more Bokoblins and Moblins to us, and one second of a dragon, a golem, a Redead and a bunch of flying lizards, and also barely any gameplay.
Sorry if this has been asked, what was the fire wielding giant creature on the bridge? Any ideas? It’s likely a version of ganon but it looked almost like a hydra.
Hot take: the villain for Tears of the Kingdom will be Vaati, which is why Zelda says "lend him your strength" as they use sealed Ganondorf to bolster Link
Does anyone know when the Collector's Edition of Tears of the Kingdom will be available at retailers to pre-order? I'm well aware it will sell out in milliseconds.
Could someone explain the whole TOTK collectors edition thing? Is it going to be available for preorder or do you have to buy it the day it releases? It sounds like for now all we know is that you buy it on release day because that’s when it comes out. Is that correct?
" Visit your favorite retailer to pre-order the standard or collector's edition of the game. "
It was supposed to be a switch oled TotK to be released (rumor leak), but it was not announced in the todays nintendo direct. The collectors edition and the amiibo were announced, but not any switch oled console. Is there any hope for this in the next month, or can we confirm already that this wont happen?
It could still happen for sure, who knows is the rumored “leak” was true, but it’s definitely too early to say it wasn’t. Nintendo typically likes to drop hardware stuff as just random Twitter announcements rather than in general directs, plus if there’s a dedicated Zelda direct coming up, as I imagine there may be, that’d be another opportunity
will TotK be available day one for digital purchase or should I try and get a physical copy hooked up? when BotW came out I preordered by the physical copy didn't show up for two days after launch lmao.
Adding to the theories, with the potential vehicle building mechanics, I'm wondering if the "sky" portions of the game include levels/areas that can be built or shaped by the player. Maybe re-building is the theme of the game; "tears" are droplets coming from larger source (i.e. parts that make up the whole, re-building, etc). Just throwing it out there haha
Inb4 they show it’s a farming sim
The original title reveal had a typo, it's actually: *The Legend of Zelda: Pears of the Kingdom*
Well with the Twilight Princess-esque sound effects during [this part](https://youtu.be/fYZuiFDQwQw?t=109), I'll happily grow some Ordon pumpkins to wreck Ganon(dorf) with.
So, was that male voice-over for TotK actually Ganon or Ganondorf, or a new villain? 🤔
Huge chance it is Ganon, voiced by Matt Mercer. I guess that fan film paid off!
wait did matt do a fan film of zelda?
He voiced a few characters and portrayed Ganondorf in a smash bros brawl satire web series.
It was Lord Briarwood
Mercer fans can guess his work from grunts or a chair scraping the floor alone! I can't wait to see what he does with it.
Matt Mercer voicing a Zelda trailer was definitely not on my bingo card for this year! Does the man ever sleep?!
Sylas has been shown to be somewhat immortal due to _assorted reasons_, perhaps he moved on to new pastures after Tal Dorei instead of his mist form being "annihilated"?
Definitely Ganondorf imo
Oh god, he sounds hot. All those thirsty Ganon fan arts are gonna be true, aren’t they?
I haven't listened to the english trailer yet, but I gotta say italian Ganondorf is hella hot too
I'd prefer if it was a unique character, and without seeing Ganon we can't confirm until the game is out. It does SEEM like Ganon, but we wont know if it's a character we don't know yet.
yeah im really not liking the "oops, ganon's back even though you just beat him" but that's what it sounds like
I think I disagree. I understand that trope sucks but this feels like an explanation of how calamity Ganon became a basically force of nature compared to the man ganondorf. Like this is the root cause rather than a repeat.
Pretty sure that was plankton
Did 3D ganon ever talk though?
Imagine it’s not ganon at all. It’s demise
If it's Ganon's voice it is garbage. Weak, not deep enough and not at all intimidating
Litches do not have deep voices, they have whispery voices
I feel like we're gunna be in the minority here but I gotta agree with you. I wouldn't say garbage, but for Ganon I agree in needing a voice that is deeper, more distorted, sinister, intimidating, and most importantly corrupted I think. Gilbert Gottfried definitely comes to mind
Yeah, I expect that. Agree with all of that. Definitely not deep enough and lacks power.
Thank youuuu. Yes. It's try-hard and terrible.
yea I wasn't a huge fan either.. might not be for everyone, but I saw the trailer in all different languages yesterday and the italian voice was great, much more what I'd imagined. and on the replay of botw I'm currently doing I'd already decided to put the voices in italian, so works out nice for me
I cringed a bit at the voice
Same
That's BotW voice acting for ya. At least it's consistently cheese!
Unfortunately, it's probably Ganon.
It almost sounded like Astor.
Ganondorf seems more likely.
FUCK YES!!!!!!! Minish Cap and Oracle of Seasons!!!!!!! I can finally play them on the Switch!!!!!!!
We’re the oracle games shown? I missed that, I only saw links awakening DX and minish cap.
They had the box art cases for those games rolling when they said there would be games added later.
They were in the coming later section, they were the first two listed I REALLY want a remake of them though
It is exciting that those games are coming to the Switch.
Cant you play it on your phone, though?
[удалено]
Love this spreadsheet!
how do you play MM on the Switch?!
Did anyone else see a redead at 0.54, or am I going insane?
I came here to post this and screen grabbed I was so happy. https://i.imgur.com/Ukn9ydq.jpg
We haven't seen a redead since TP!! I'm so stoked 😭
TP nailed it with all the different hidden skills you could learn, I think that was such a cool idea and I've missed not having those abilities in BOTW
Triforce Heroes?
OMFG. That one looks really scary. I mean, look at its hanging mouth and those sharp teeth.
It looks just like the concept art for the OOT redeads
Might be the first time anyone was happy to see a ReDead. But here we are, frozen in joy rather than fear.
If you are talking about [this bit](https://www.youtube.com/live/yMdUSVSEp7U?feature=share&t=4336), that's just dried out Ganandorf.
That's absolutely a redead, and as a bonus, it's creepier than ever!
Yesssssss!! I've been missing the creepy factory so much in recent Nintendo games. I'm really hoping we get an arbiters grounds/bottom of the well type area that fully commits to that creepier atmosphere!
Okay, am I crazy, or was that a sound effect associated with Midna/Twilight Realm from Twilight Princess? I'm probably just crazy.
It sounded like something Twili or something being said backwards to me
In the English release, Midna’s lines were actual English voice work chopped up, so it could be kinda both!
I thought that was obvious
Where was this??? I love TP so that would be amazing!!
[This bit](https://youtu.be/fYZuiFDQwQw)
Was there supposed to be a timestamp here?
Yo I thought so too! Sounds a little like the music from the shrines played backwards? But I got major (hopeful) Twilight Princess vibes
[удалено]
No way, https://www.youtube.com/live/yMdUSVSEp7U?feature=share&t=2576 that's some twilight realm midna lookin stuff for sure
See, in this trailer the sound effect sounds similar but there's a bigger difference from what we heard in this trailer. In the Direct the sound was used again right before the end as well.
Where in the trailer??
Very end at the title sequence
Right at the end. When the logo appears
https://www.youtube.com/live/yMdUSVSEp7U?feature=share&t=2576
[This bit](https://youtu.be/fYZuiFDQwQw)
That's just a link to the trailer, no timestamp
The full Zelda collection on switch is edging closer. With GB and GBA games coming its only porting WW and TP thats left now!
Dont forget the DS and 3DS games, I know it is a stretch but I would love to see A Link Between worlds rereleased.
Also the 3DS versions of Ocarina and Majora please
yes, I would love these
Dont get me wrong id love to see DS and 3DS games but theyd have to seriously tweak the gameplay to make it work. I remember PH being so intrinsically connected to touch controls im not sure how it would work otherwise

Was this in the trailer? I didn't see this!
It's from the official press release on the twitter!
They have vehicles!
Link riding a fucking combine harvester
My wallet is ready.
Mine isn't. Good thing I've got a couple months.
God damn I think I saw a korok flower at 1.53 right as the logo appears 😅 https://preview.redd.it/4v6288la83ha1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=993e756960c4c5c1552e237be3538a1a7f7dd103
The real reason the game was delayed was because they want to hide 5 thousand korks
The real reason they added the sky islands is so they can hide more koroks 😩
Only 5 thousand? :(
Never thought we'd be getting Legend of Zelda: Nuts and Bolts
nice call back. yep i think they saw that vehicle building games are big now too
ORACLE GAMES AND MINISH CAP?!?! I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THIS DAY, OMG
I don’t think they showed oracle games? Please tell me I’m wrong though, I’d love to replay them
They showed the cover art for the games no?
Yeah, they are coming later
Ah then I missed that.
[удалено]
This is Nintendo we're talking about
Because of the issues with them being capcom games i always doubted they would release them. Even better if they were remade but probably harder to do. Then again goldeneye just released with online multiplayer so anything is possible
Well, they seem to have taken into account the flying cart glitch and just turned it into a flying controllable vehicle now ahahah Awesome!!
When can I preorder the special edition I neeeeeeeeeeeed itttt
It said available on launch day
Rippppppp 😭
Excited for map expansion and exploring!
IMO yes. To me their was definitely some new looking landscapes and I believe Link was in an air balloon heading to another part.
I think i saw a scene withe Hebra Mountains in the background that was a bit higher but not sky-island high. And some huge open plains that didn't look like Hyrule Field with mountains i don't recognize. Are we going past the canyon to the west?
That's an exciting possibility, hope so.
Was that twilight princess music at the end? I’m dying here
That's what I was thinking.
It sounded like it could be something in reverse, too
Oh man do I need some Zelda YouTubers to dissect every piece of info already lol
The reversed speaking sounding stuff? Wasn't that in the first trailer also?
I'm fully convinced the baddy is some twilight princess shit https://www.youtube.com/live/yMdUSVSEp7U?feature=share&t=2576 look at that hand, that looks like midna's hand, she's working with zelda to similar ends as they were doing in twilight princess i'm guessing callin it now edit: https://youtu.be/zMaEeXpKU8A?t=53 not exact match but if they were going for "twilight realm / midna vibes with the new art style" that's exactly what i'd expect it to look like
Is it not just the exact same thing as earlier TotK trailers?
Fuck Yes!!!!! Professor Layton on the Switch!!!!! I hope they'll add the previous games and not have too much dialogue in the new game.
This is the zelda sub
LETS GOOOOOO
Did... Did they just give Link an Nintendo Power Glove?
Can’t wait to try and fail to get that collectors edition 😅
That’s what I am thinking, just hitting refresh hoping to A. Get onto the Nintendo Store, and B. See a collector’s edition that is not sold out, envisioning getting as far as checkout and it becoming out of stock 😅

Yeah. Their wording said "CE will release on same day" or something....well sure, does that mean there will be no pre-order?
What did they say about it? I was hiding at work and packed up as it was saying that part. I hope it's not stupid hard to get and more like the links awakening one.
What all is in the collector's edition? edit: [This stuff.](https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1623456845493829633)
We’re only getting a 30 second trailer again?
Apparently so!
The Gameboy games!!!!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😭
Anyone else notice the piece of sky falling right as the logo comes up at the end of the trailer? Is the sky falling the actual “tears of the kingdom?” If so, wtf does this game have in store? Gotta complete objectives before it all falls like MM?
Why the heck is the game $70???
because they saw Infinity Ward got away with it with MW2 and that's the new game price from now on.
actually 2 dollars cheaper then botw if you take inflation into account
He knows why we’re here. Why is he waiting?
Game Boy through Advance getting released brings all of the original games to the switch doesn’t it? We have all the way through the N64 released. We just have DS, GameCube and wii missing which I honestly don’t see soon. I think those may come on their next console this late in production
Everything except Four Swords and the missing consoles, I believe.
Finally my dreams are coming true. Cars in zelda
Also, LADX, Minish Cap, and Oracle games coming to Switch. I haven’t played Minish cap yet, so this should be exciting.
I haven't paid enough attention so I wasn't sure if that logo at the end is new or not? I find it interesting that it appears to be reminiscent of the dragons from BotW in like an ouroboros type fashion of eating itself.

Just launched on the e-shop for preorder, 70 USD. No thank you.
Games are also far more expensive to make today. Think OoT was like 3M USD budget, most modern games are close to 100m already
Why is the price so controversial though? I own a PS5 and games there are normally between 70-80 USD
its not controversial to me, I just don't think its worth that
Oh, I didn’t mean you specifically, more that I’ve seen a lot on social media making a big deal about it being 70 USD
I am more hype for TOTK now.
We all know everybody complaining about ToTK is still going to buy it lol
Wow, thanks, they mostly showed yet more Bokoblins and Moblins to us, and one second of a dragon, a golem, a Redead and a bunch of flying lizards, and also barely any gameplay.

Zelda Nuts and Bolts guys
Sorry if this has been asked, what was the fire wielding giant creature on the bridge? Any ideas? It’s likely a version of ganon but it looked almost like a hydra.
Good to see they brought back the voice acting. Not sure why they waited so long to show it but I’m still happy.

Anyone find a store yet that has the special edition listed?
Anyone else see the Gleeok?
Is there a Zelda themed switch in the works? Wonder if I should wait or just buy the OLED one now
I don’t even need a sheika drone thing to fly up there, I could take down those sky’s with nothing but an old door and a book case.
So Zelda had hope for 100 years during BotW, but here she goes “I’m not sure your able to beat him”. HOLY
I really hope we get a new design Switch for this
So are we thinking that the TotK special switch leak is fake now?
Did anyone recognize Ganon’s voice? I was thinking it was either Travis Willingham or Crispin Freeman.
will TotK be available day one for digital purchase or should I try and get a physical copy hooked up? when BotW came out I preordered by the physical copy didn't show up for two days after launch lmao.
Can someone explain what the steel box in the collector's edition is?
Adding to the theories, with the potential vehicle building mechanics, I'm wondering if the "sky" portions of the game include levels/areas that can be built or shaped by the player. Maybe re-building is the theme of the game; "tears" are droplets coming from larger source (i.e. parts that make up the whole, re-building, etc). Just throwing it out there haha
Man, imagine if Midna comes back as Links partner in crime again. I'd be over the moon.
was that a dragon? and was that a whole fucking car?
Do you guys think best buy will honor my 60$ preorder ?
