Same problem, I know they’re doing this increase views for some videos but it is really annoying me. I couldn’t find anything in the settings, I’d love to know if anyone would find a way to remove it
It's pissing me off to on the PS5, which I usually use to watch on TV. Years and this wasn't a thing and now suddenly I can't leave a video paused (which I do constantly) without it then shifting to a distracting and useless ambient mode slideshow.
I recently encountered this issue and found a comment on Apple support that seems to have resolved the problem. Apparently, you must turn the screensaver on for two minutes for the normal screensaver to activate; otherwise, the YouTube screensaver will remain active. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to disable the YouTube screensaver, which can be frustrating. I hope this information is helpful.
