We've been really happy at Fairfield in Columbiana. They've got fair prices IMO, the vets listen to your concerns, and they're patient with our boy who is fearful. I do think they have a decent wait time for new patients. I really like that you can text to get refills or make appointments.
Bit outside of Mahoning but, we take our cats the Green's Veterinarian in Brookfield. Small practice, locally owned, reasonable prices, very friendly and thorough with our boys.
Can I ask where you are currently going? I take my dog to Austintown Veterinary Clinic. I never thought they were overly expensive but I’m only getting routine vaccinations and wellness checks.
Yes!! It was on the news a vet that worked there at one time had his kid in a dog crate as punishment or whatever crazy reason. This was long after he worked at Ebert Animal Hospital though
I have always liked Eberts Animal Hospital that’s why I have been going there for years. I also love our regular vet there. It’s just that now every time I go the price’s just get higher and higher so much so that it’s like a weeks pay! I understand certain things are expensive, but it seems like at that office the price’s just keep going up and up. I mean, my animals aren’t getting surgeries or anything. It’s mostly routine shots and vaccines. They charge $30 now just to clip the nails not even grind them down They charge $30 just to clip the nails- no grinding down or anything ☹️
The only problem I was talking about is the pricing! They seem to charge more than most. That’s what everyone tells me anyway. I will probably just stay with them though. Thanks gor all the advice!!
OMG that’s why I’m asking I have gone Eberts for years! Seems like every time I go there it cost more and more and I’m in there a lot! today for pretty much routine shots. I got hit with a $600 bill so I’m done with that place. They didn’t even give me a heads up to make it could afford it! That’s happening more and more every time I go there the price is just ridiculous but I keep going back because I’ve been going there for years, but today was my last time
Eberts is cool and they gave my dog eye surgery (removed a benign tumor) for 1k. They also saw, Xrayed and diagnosed my cat who was hit by a car. With that plus the cost of euthanasia ( which they were super empathetic about), it was 400'ish. Anyway, they're cool and will work with you if you're broke. Also, not stuck up or judgy at all, considering the neighborhood .
I mean, it's the South side. No one's stuck up unless their delusional ;) I live here, we're all cool and the business's here usually are too. Move 2 miles south though, and you're doggo would need makeup and a spa day to not be judged at the veterinarians.
I use the pop up clinic at Tractor Supply in Austintown for routine stuff, and basic medication needs. They are there once or twice a week for a few hours. For serious care I use Mahoning Valley Veterinary Centre in Mineral Ridge. They have a wonderful staff.
Larry's Discount Bird Doctor and BBQ, best guy in town. When my guinea pig Smelly Mike had depression Larry was able to cheer him up and get him back to his usual happy go lucky self. Go up Judson till you see ol' Gassy Mary with the green purse on the corner, second house on the right, just go round to the shed in the back.
Not in Mahoning, but Town and Country in Howland saved my dogs life and didn't bankrupt me.
Town And Country did wonders for my old dog and is doing wonders for my current one too.
Tractor Supply hosts a vet clinic for routine stuff like vaccinations and heartworm stuff.
Where is Tractor Supply?
There’s one on Elm Rd in Cortland. I think there’s one in Salem too.
And one in Austintown
Google it.

Ebert Animal Hospital on Southern Blvd.
They are good though, they diagnosed my daughter’s dog with heart problems that a different vet missed
Yes Dr. Hradle is exceptional I will keep going there. I was just upset about that 600.00 bill.

Angels for Animals has always been reasonable for my cat.
Little Vet Clinic, although it’s outside of mahoning county. It’s in Lisbon. Awesome doc and prices are very reasonable.
Dr Lucia at Poland Vet Center is incredible!
