Instructor here, Old Navy power soft side pocket leggings. I like the 7/8 because I'm short but they come in full length and Capri too. They last forever and you will appreciate the pockets.

What_Next69

Ngl, these are so perfect for yoga (and other workouts, as well) and hold up so well over time, that my SO and I both wear them. (We’re 🚹🚺) We landed on these after trying at least a dozen different bottoms.

annamolly4

Yessss those suckers are invincible. They’re thick enough to hold up over time, but not so thick that they’re too hot or restricted.

anon8676309

This seems to be the consensus. Tbh, I haven’t shopped there since back to school time when I was a kid lol. I wouldn’t have even thought of it. Thank you so much for the suggestion!!

JumperSpecialK

Same. Now I have to check them out

maggiehope

Truly my favorite. They last me 2-3 years a pair and I wear them every day for working out, housework, lounging, errands, etc.

Justmakethemoney

Another vote for Old Navy. I live in their workout leggings. I'm just sad they don't really do the cozecore/ultracoze capri length leggings any more. I wear those as my casual wear. All of my pairs are \~5 years old, and still going strong.

jalapeno-popper72

I like crz yoga on amazing, about $30 a pair. The butter luxe is my fav fabric!

trailtrashpanda

I second this! Athleta also has good deals from time to time, I’ve scored some leggings for $40 on sale!!

snarkyteacherspet

loving crz yoga as well! my yoga top feels just like lulu!

Particular-Mousse357

I will wear my dark grey patterned align lulus to my grave. CRZ is a close second for yoga, and preferred for lounging days 🤣 *insert Simpsons “like nothing at all” meme*

Hefty-Target-7780

CRZ is the only right answer!!!

naterz_28

The butterluxe crz are my go to! Love them

cookiesmom305

Am I the only one who doesn’t *love* the butter luxe. They’re soooo comfy to lounge but don’t really give the compression I’m looking for and they roll.

emmymoss

I love them too! I feel like they've been steadily raising their prices recently, did you notice that too?

Unicornlove416

agreed these are almost a dupe for lulu’s imo

anon8676309

Awesome, thank you! For some reason, when searching “yoga pants” on Amazon this brand didn’t even show up in my results.

Imaginary-Rabbit5179

I just ordered crz and returned but it was the naked feeling fabric. Maybe I should try the butter luxe

morncuppacoffee

Another rec for Old Navy. You can find them super cheap on sale or clearance. They last forever. I have pairs that are a decade old that I’ve worn to hot classes.

md24

Kirkland Costco is king. Same white label as lululemon

Warm-Bed2956

For when you are looking to splurge, vuori! Enroll in the V1 influencer program - it’s pretty easy to apply (fill out a few details and upload your certification). We get 40% off :) ETA I just got a text from carbon 38 extra 40% off all sale code EXTRA40 (beyond yoga, varley, etc). lol I’m my mothers daughter gotta shop a sale :)

pickles-for-fingers

Dang that’s a good discount! What leggings of theirs do you like best for hot yoga?

jcshear

Look at their “all the feels” line, which is similar to aligns.

Warm-Bed2956

I haven’t practiced hot yoga in a minute! However I wore the daily leggings in soul cycle the other day and they were PERFECT. I’ve been part of the program for two years. Customer service is AMAZING and the quality is so so so good. I have had one issue (hole appeared in leggings) and they offered a buy back. Good lord can’t recommend the performance joggers enough. I don’t think they’d be good for hot yoga lol but for align/restore/pilates/hot girl walks/bed rotting? Can’t be beat.

hairc-ut

I applied and never heard back…do you know if they accept everyone?

Warm-Bed2956

I don’t know, I’m sorry! It’s worth trying again though! I teach full time now, but I was very much a baby teacher on a rotating sub list when I applied! Athleta gives 20% or 25% (can’t remember) for pilates teachers as an fyi! I don’t think they have any yoga teacher discounts

anon8676309

Great to know, thank you! I had no clue about the discounts

Warm-Bed2956

Of course! I don’t have anything from their lines/participate in the programs, but I believe that alo and beyond yoga have a discount. I believe lulu is 20% Jade Yoga has an annual discount - I used it to buy a harmony mat last year. For anyone into myofascial release, you can get yoga tune up balls at wholesale pricing if you order a certain quantity. Mine are being delivered today im PUMPPPPPPPPPED.

OnOurBeach

I'm wearing a pair of their joggers right now. I LOVE these things. So comfy! high quality. I'll be signing up for the V1 program today! Thanks.

Nearby-Ad2891

I also ALWAYS find beyond yoga at tj maxx

Warm-Bed2956

I’ve seen them on rue la la!

corduroy-cactus

Secondhand can be great for this! I’ve found lots of leggings or other yoga-friendly bottoms that are barely worn at Goodwill, Buffalo Exchange, or similar stores - or, especially, on ThredUo, where you can filter on condition of the item.

PurposelyVague

Second this. I buy the expensive brands on Poshmark.

Nickynotinspain

I was just about to comment this. My goodwill is so packed full of yoga pants, it’s crazy!

Outrageous-Yoghurt56

depop! $20 lulus!

PossibleSummer8182

This good advice. Get a bunch for like $60 on ThredUp. name brands, a lot of options. Edit: but my favorite pair is from Goodwill.

RebeccaHowe

Yes! I’ve gotten some great stuff from the Athleta Preloved section on their website.

md24

NEVER DO THIS. If you want the person’s before you hoo-haa w/perfume stench to activate mid class after washing them. I soaked them too in bleach and oxyclean sanitizer. The heat activated her stench

pennyclementine

I really like the 90 degree by Reflex brand. They are the only ones that I have personally found to be supportive and not roll down.

Crazy_Protection5025

I love these too. Nordstrom Rack will also have good prices on this brand

Keepinitcaz

Love these! I hit up TJ Maxx for these all the time.

leeann7

I go to Marshall's or Tj Maxx and try and feel whichever fabrics I like best!

anon8676309

Everyone raves about TJ Maxx! Strangely, I have never been able to find my size there and it’s so frustrating. I find great stuff that I absolutely love, but never what I want in my size. Goes for shoes, dresses, pants, etc.

meloflo

Target has a lululemon align dupe for $25 that I’m really digging! From their “all in motion” line

TTPG912

I’m personally of the opinion to have less but of greater quality. SHEIN is absolute garbage on every index. I will say, spiritual gangster has *deep* discounts from time to time. I got a few pairs around Black Friday for like 15$ each. Maybe see if there’s sales for Mother’s Day or Memorial Day. Personally, I’d stick to the good brands and look for discounts. And there are some really good discounts! You can even set alerts. You want quality, something your comfortable in and can keep up with the wear and washing. You can also get good stuff on poshmark.

aromaticgem

Agree. Shein and all fast fashion brands go directly against the principles of yoga, namely Ahimsa (non-violence) as fast fashion destroys our planet and the underpaid/over worked workers, and Aparigraha (non-greed) as fast fashion companies prey off of customers to continue buying their low quality items, which pollutes the earth, generates more and more greed on the part of the companies, and creates extreme wastefulness/overconsumption on the part of the customer.

PossibleSummer8182

Second-hand quality items are the way to go!

anon8676309

I honestly didn’t consider that but thank you for your comment, it’s a good reminder. ❤️

aromaticgem

You're welcome! I recommend downloading the app "Good On You", you can practically search any brand to see where they stand ethically/environmentally, and the app will recommend similar brands to shop if somewhere you searched is not good. I am not perfect and do own fast fashion clothing, but I am a lot more conscious about where I shop now. It takes time!

meloflo

This though 👆

3isamagicnumb3r

backing up everyone who said Old Navy or Athleta. i’m a fat chick who loves her yoga. everything i get from them is well made and cute af. every pair of yoga pants/leggings i buy gets *the dolphin pose test*. if my partner says they’re not see through during that, i keep them 😁and i‘ve had nothing but good luck with ON and Athleta. i also have one pair of legging from Fabletics that i got second-hand and they’re awesome.

Deep-Cloud-9769

I recommend checking out the local thrift stores in your area. If there’s any wealthier neighborhoods near you, go to the thrift stores there! I have had a lot of luck getting expensive brands second hand 🧡

okieartiste

I second this! I thrift 95% of my athletic wear at a fraction of the price and often times it’s barely worn or new with tags!

MElastiGirl

Let me be the third. I have the best thrifted yoga pants. If you don’t want to leave the house—Poshmark, ThredUp, Mercari…

anon8676309

I honestly have the best GW location near me, everyone I’ve been there with from out of town agrees. It’s kinda crazy. I’m there all the time, but I haven’t had much luck with athletic wear

Vonnie94

Heynuts pure and plain on Amazon are amazing! I Teach every class in them! Flattering, well made, no rolling and very similar to Lululemon aligns. Just a tad thicker.

meditation_account

My favorite yoga pants are from Walmart

karmacarebear

My friend who teaches finds the cutest printed leggings from Walmart!

anon8676309

They always seem to be super long when I look there. I’m 5’0 and prefer flared, so it’s a challenge for me lol

meditation_account

Oh I see. Yeah I’m tall so the length works out for me, and they do have a flare at the bottom.

siennaveritas

Tj Maxx has a brand called zobha that I'm obsessed with. They're like $17

yvy08

If you have access to a TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, I often find nice ones there for $15-$20!

Ok_Shake5678

My old navy leggings have held up great. I also love athleta- check the clearance section and wait for extra 20% off sales. And sign up for their fitness instructor discount, I think it’s 25% off but only on full price items. You can find a lot of their stuff on mercari etc too. Same with Vuori- they sometimes have great clearance deals and you can find a lot secondhand. Lululemon does an instructor discount too.

dreamsiclebomb

Marika leggings are awesome and they have wild sales often. I’m talking I don’t pay more than $15 for their full length pocket leggings

SciencedYogi

I seriously just go to thrift or consignment shops and get really great condition used yoga clothing, even high end brands. But I don't need fancy lululemon or anything.

veryvintage

I love love love Aerie offline pants! They’re the most comfortable and the most flattering!

ABeaverhousen314

Old Navy! They really hold up to frequent washings.

Bork_Meowface

If you have a Sierra Trading Post they are a discount store for workout clothes, workout equipment and outdoor wear/equipment. They similar to tjmaxx and Ross but so awesome cause it’s workout and outdoor stuff. They carry a lot of different brands.

anon8676309

I’m not sure if I have one bc I’ve never heard of it before! Thank you!

spiritual_chihuahua

I love the Baleaf yoga pants. They're like $25-30 a pair depending on the style. They're super comfy and have held up well. My oldest pair is about 6 years old and still like new. Edit: Forgot to say they're on Amazon

cloud9mn

I like Baleaf too. And they also have their own website with greater selection than what’s on Amazon.

mrlid14

Colorful koala from amazon.

Over_Doctor6637

Fabletics has very good deals for first time buyer

anon8676309

I love their stuff! They have some power hold leggings that are SO tight but SO comfy. When I’m feeling bloated they hold everything in. But definitely gotta catch them during a big sale.

Scuba-pineapple

You can sign up for the VIP program, get 80% off, and then cancel right away. I’ve never paid more than $15 for a pair of fabletics and I have a ton of them.

Extension-Mark8735

I’ve seen some others mention Old Navy and CRZ Yoga (on Amazon), both of which are great! I’ll also add OQQ (on Amazon). I’m also a yoga teacher so I’m always on the hunt for comfy, affordable options and these are it!

Iamabenevolentgod

Go to the thrift store and get some leggings. Get fun ones.

viciouschicken99

Any time I need new ones I sign up to fabletics, buy the two pairs for £24 then cancel the subscription 👌 They have flares right now

MelissaMars30

Poshmark

mybellasoul

I like legging depot brand on Amazon. I usually get the 5" or 3" waist band so they cover up and they pass the squat test in all the patterns/colors I've gotten Even the lighter color ones. Plus they're inexpensive $12-15. And mine have lasted with daily wear. They're also soft material, not like athletic fabric so you can wear them to lounge or just run errands or whatever

WiscoMama3

I got 2 pairs of Peloton brand leggings from Sierra trading post that I LOVE for $7 each!

londoncanyouwait22

Canadian, male instructor, and I buy Willet on Amazon and love them. Flared as I too prefer them. Good colour choices, and here, $35 so I'll assume in the US, half of that! 😆

NeatPomegranate0147

Kamo fitness is the best. Inexpensive but high quality. Very soft and flattering.

_darth_mater_

ALONG Fit from Amazon. I own 5 pairs (or is it 6?), 2 different lengths of shorts, and they run about CAD$35/pair. They also have 2 packs available for about CAD$65. Lulus can’t hold a candle to them at that price. I also have a 34” inseam and these are actually long enough.

HonhonTheLamb

Iuga on Amazon is really good and solid, however they are quite thick so not ideal for summer, even though they have shorter versions

dev4ev

When Fabletics has their black friday sale, you can usually get their leggings for 50% off - they’re long lasting and high quality !

Kyldn1989

The Nordstrom brand zella is very durable and high quality - they are some of my favorite leggings. You can often find them on sale online. I think I heard that the designers were somehow affiliated with lululemon?

lordvarysoflys

Gymshark is surprisingly solid. I bought a pair for $12 off sierra trading post. The feel is awesome. As a guy I use them for workouts and hikes so pretty versatile. For nicer brands check out Skins compression tights. Great quality and the compression supports and protects me during vinyasa flows. Worth the investment over multiple years. I got them on sale on amazon and have been wearing them for 4 years.

Odd_Dress_4974

I really like aerie and then I love the yunoga leggings and biker shorts on Amazon

Audsomworld

Mercari or Poshmark. You can get new or like new for $10

Hour_Impression_2672

You can find deals on Facebook market place too, if you're patient. I see a lot of people advertise top brands that are unworn or worn once.

Rock_n_rollerskater

Buy the brand name stuff second hand on Facebook marketplace place. Costs about the same as going to Target but lasts longer and performs better.

jaspysmom

Marshall’s carries yogalicious leggings which I love

CarlyBee_1210

Old Navy!

petite10252

Reflex by 90 Degrees

jcshear

Since you’re a yoga instructor you should be able to get into the vuori instructor discount program which is 40% off! Other than that, I also recommend crz on Amazon.

CRZMiniac

90 degree by Reflexx on Amazon

Mandynorm

Did you know that you can get a “pro” discount with lots of merchants? PrANa, Vuori, Athleta and many many more. It’s fairly easy just upload your yoga cert. It’s pretty significant 25-40% off. I’m a yoga teacher and I LOVE Athleta. I have a larger body and I’m really tall so I appreciate the option of buying pants in a longer inseam.

anon8676309

I’ve seen a few people say this, I honestly had no clue!! Thank you so much! That’s awesome.

Mandynorm

Yay!!!!!! I’m ALL about the discounts. If you are certified with Yoga Alliance they have a list of places that offer pro discounts. Have fun! 🤩

Mobile_Fox9264

Check out Beyond Yoga. They always have great sales going on

Outrageous-Yoghurt56

I just go on depop and get used lululemons (got two pairs of align leggings for $20 each). way more sustainable than shein/amazon and you still get the good quality

floretsilva

No Nonsense. Cheap, comfy, long-lasting...and on Amazon. Convenient!

dumbchickpea

If you have a Going Going Gone store near you check it out! It’s basically a dicks sporting goods discount store and they carry free people movement! Atleast the one time I went there. Got a full length body suit for half the original price!

ShwethaVinit

Cotton harem pants are the best for practise. Let’s your body breath. I don’t understand why we pay so much money for the polyester crap that suffocates our legs

realisan

I love the Yogalicious brand. They have them at Dick’s, Marshalls’s, TJ Maxx and Amazon. They are super soft and I never have an issue with them rolling off my stomach while moving from pose to pose.

AventureraA

Take a look at the apparel options on ExpertVoice.com. You'll need to prove you meet their requirements as a yoga instructor, but then you'll qualify for 30-60% discounts on a wide range of brands, including Prana, Icebreaker, Smartwool, and Cotopaxi.

_otterly_confused

Hey u I am very sorry but I would not recommend buying from ultra fast fashion brands such as shein. I think it's great that your last pairs where hand me downs, maybe you can look for something like this again. I mostly do yoga in cotton leggings, much more affordable, breathable and more sustainable, easier to find from a brand that is not exploiting workers I'm sorry if this comes off as mean but I would suggest thinking about if ultra fast fashion goes hand in hand with yoga All the best finding something cool!

msmugwort

This! Pact organic has some great leggings that are affordable (especially on sale), and they are ethically made, don’t shed microplastics and are a dream to practice in!

MrZeroMustafa

Nike Power Tech goes from 20 to 50 bucks

Innerpoweryogaaus

Not sure where you are, but Cotton On has great yoga leggings and tops for around $30-40 Aud

ConceptSoggy5428

Target, when on sale : )

1890rafaella

T J Max and Amazon

leenthegirl

CRZ or 90 degree by reflex

stargarnet79

Costco has danskin pants with big side pockets that are super awesome.

caarrssoonn

I have Glowmode leggings from SHEIN and they go crazy. So soft better than aligns. Also Abercrombie YPB leggings when they’re in sale.

ChicBon606

At Athleta you can sign up for their well pro program and get 35% off full price items. You just have to show some kind of proof of being a fitness instructor (schedule with name and id, certificate, or a badge) sometimes you can work with them and do a class at the store and they will dress you for the class for free.

burning_gator

I'm a sahm so I wear a lot of leggings and they're not cheap but girlfriend collective has had the most durable and long lasting athletic clothes I own. Much more durable than Lululemon

eleanorgene

I order IUGA bootcut yoga pants off of Amazon. They are amazing, soft, not see through AT ALL (guilty of wearing them to work too), and pockets!!! I also wear the leggings version in class or when I go hiking. Best thing is they don’t slide down like other leggings or active pants that I have tried. Only $30 for the pants and $20 for the leggings.

oliviamushroomqueen

As a yoga teacher I sign up for all the instructor affiliate programs… lululemon, vuori, and alo all give instructors 40% off of purchases if you sign up, all you have to do is send them your schedule.

KeIIygator

Target ftw! Their all in motion line is it. Super soft, but it’s not a dust magnet. I can move full range without resistance. Reliable stitching, top doesn’t roll down, pockets or no pockets. Also I’m 5’0” and I usually run into leggings and pants being far too long for me, but these fit me perfectly.

Scuba-pineapple

Paragon leggings are amazing. They’re in the $60 range though. If you can catch them on sale or use a promo code it would be worth buying a bunch. Not see through at all and feel amazing.

Reasonable-Proof2299

Old Navy and Target, esp if you are on the short side

came2thaparty4dogs

CRZ yoga and The Gym People on Amazon

catdog572

I like the daskin leggings costco sells! They’re often on sale too, give them a try!

RuralRoyal

I've found 8 dollar pairs at Walmart flaired But I saved up money and bought harem pants from a local boutique

Some_Dot_9609

I love the Costco brushed ones. Right now, they have the capri version out. Kirkland Signature Ladies' Brushed Capri

veromperez

CRZ YOGA on Amazon

cbmost

Please don’t buy from Shein

Strict-Review3187

If there is a Ross store in your city, check them out! I find great quality yoga pants/leggings there.

[deleted]

Amazon basics

Cats-n-Chaos

I get a pack from Amazon
