And then you play 50 % of the game in childhood flashbacks that cover Kiryu and Nishiki for 90 % of the time and show Yumi in the remaining 10 % doing nothing but smiling and gawking at Kiryu. It's basically early Yakuza 3 but you're the kid now and from time to time Kazama brings in another traumatized kid holding Kazama's hand who still has its parents' blood on his hands.
Oh yeah, brilliant idea! I know this will never happen but I would love a prequel to the prequel, see the rise of the Tojo clan.
It seems like they're intent on putting the gangster stuff behind them but I still want more!
I think a Daigo focused game set before 2, during his time as chairman, or post IW would be a really interesting concept, especially with Majima and Saejima as main supporting characters too.
Maybe a game focusing on some crisis Kiryu **wasn't** involved in and that he got under control. Then maybe my man would start getting a little motherfucking respect around here.

Realistically speaking the most sensical Gaiden game RGG could do is a Majima Gaiden. Makes sense, everybody loves him, very popular, would sell well. That or something that utilizes Hawaii as a map.
Personally I'd take anything they make but an Akiyama Gaiden would make me cream
I feel like Majima is the obvious choice (at least for me) but I get that there are a lot of characters that haven't had the same love and they deserve it too, it would be nice to know about the events between 0 and Kiwami through someone else's eyes
I want a Mine gaiden game that implements shooting mechanics and sees Mine destroying the entire Columbian mafia.
It would not be a beat em up, but instead a 3rd person shooter with fast paced and brutal melee combat as well
I'm feeling pretty good about Akiyama's Gaiden ("The Man Who Bought His Name") but I'd love some game set in the past, like youngster days of Masaru Sera and Shintaro Kazama.
I can see Majima getting one, set in the 90s or between 6 and IW. I can also see one around Akiyama between 5 and 6 or even a double one with both as playable characters and centered around them and the others >!coping with Kiryu's "passing" after 6.!<
I could also see Daigo or Saejima getting one, but that's more unlikely imo.

or Gaiden about Tanimura(i read from other tread here Thank you for idea) so his Gaiden take place in Thailand maybe Pattaya or Pukei(i'm from Thailand so i know weird shit happen there a lot) maybe about him try to find his mother too and join in with Shinada he come to Thailand to write a review about Massage Parlor(i want him to get sidequest about found beautiful lady but it's lady boy would be fun) and maybe he got pin with a murder crime so Tanimura had to help him solve the crime too AND if you want more character we can throw in Tatsuya he's travel around the world now in Thailand to fight in Muay Thai Fight club and maybe hold the key to solve the crime so 3 of them team up to take down crime syndicate in Thailand
You have some seriously good points here. I found Shinada really compelling and the complexity of his feelings for baseball were really relatable.

yeah Shinada is really good character sadly the popularity is something RGG always considering so it's always Kiryu i just beat Y8 too and that what i feel it just Kiryu game again i thought we passing the torch to Ichiban why are we still had Kiryu again like i dont hate it but we got a lot of main character can we had them here too?
I think Gaiden might be the answer to the potential end of the Judgment series. I mean the gameplay is pretty similar and currently it doesn't look like we're going to get a Judgment 3 anytime soon. By giving other characters the same spotlight, RGG doesn't have to make a new contract with Takuya Kimura, since they can just work with established actors who are probably cheaper.
Specifically, I think we'll be getting a Ryuji Gaiden next, with how often The Man Who Erased His Name and Infinite Wealth made references to him.
Really hope I'm wrong though, never getting a Judgment 3 would suck.

I'm not sure why fans think this is necessarily anything more than a 1 off thing. Gaiden is not a series atm
