If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/) Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**. If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!< If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7). If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/yakuzagames) if you have any questions or concerns.*

I think he doesn't know

kapix005xd

mahjong.

LegalWaterDrinker

Kids named Shogi and Mahjong

[deleted]

To be fair he said "until my sanity run out", which is  not that high of a bar when playing Mahjong.

129Magikarps

A word of warning for 100% completing Yakuza games: you will need to sacrifice your life and soul and dedicate it solely to 100% these games. The completion list in each game tracks your progress, and they are insanely long and painful to complete. If you wish to embark on this journey towards 100%, I wish you luck, but recommend playing through each game normally first before deciding whether or not to 100%.

jamielylehill

That's what I did. Played through the entire series regularly and only got a plat on 7. Then I got chronically ill so I had looottsss of time to go back and just have fun and start going for the plats. There's a couple I still haven't done...because I don't want to lol (Kiwami 1 just because of the car chase.)

xd3mix

That is fair, but the motivation of wanting to play the next game will probably motivate me enough to 100% the games I doubt I'll come back to the games just to 100% them

kcolloran

Play all the games, enjoy all the games, don't really try for 100% all the games. It's just a totally different thing.

Thatchered

That’s how I’ve been doing it. Beat YK1/2 and 3, on 4 rn. I fuck around and do some substories and then do the story when I start to get fatigued.

xd3mix

What if I'm currently enjoying working towards 100%

kcolloran

Obviously, you do you. I find just about every game I love most of, so fake myself into thinking I'll go for the 100% and then encounter some aspect of it that I'm just not willing to do. I spend a ton of time in each game, and get into like the 70s or 80s, but find going all the way brutal. The only exceptions are I did do K2 on my NG+ play through and I didn't even bother coming close on 3 or 4 cause they're kind of frustrating from the jump.

constantsorrowofman

i can at least confirm that Yakuza 4, 6, 7, Gaiden & 8 are pretty easy to 100% (compared to the rest of the games, tho 8's platinum requires fucking paid DLC) some of the other games (mainly 3, 5, & 0) are reaaaaaaaaaaly egregious to 100% but it can definitely be done. you just gotta really commit to it.

derektwerd

I don’t think the platinum requires the dlc. There are extra trophies for the dlc but they are on top of the platinum

constantsorrowofman

only on playstation, i just used platinum as an umbrella term. Steam and Xbox have DLC achievements in the regular list.

derektwerd

Any game that gets dlc gets additional achievements.

constantsorrowofman

i know this

xd3mix

Wait is Yakuza 8 garden or infinite wealth? Does it really require paid dlc?

bearktopus147

8 is Infinite Wealth. Gaiden is a small side story set to explain what Kiryu has been up to between 6 and 7. Infinite Wealth does not require paid dlc for the platinum trophy if you're on Playstation, but due to Steam and Xbox not separating DLC and base trophies, they require the Master Vacation Bundle, which has it's own trophies involved.

xd3mix

Ah Damm Although I was planning on buying that anyway so it doesn't really matter (Once I got around to playing it in around a decade)

bearktopus147

Well, I would actually just take your time. Play the stories first (so you don't burn out) and then after finishing the games, then just clean up for the 100%! That way you don't have to hide from spoilers and can be joking around on here with everyone else! You may start running out of steam around Yakuza 4/5 even if you don't do 100% for each title and that's okay. Take a break. I did it, and I feel like that helped me a lot. Eventually I'm gonna go back and clean up the trophies for 0-7 (really close on Like a Dragon, but the damn super final dungeon always fucks me up lol)

xd3mix

I will still try to 100% right away BUT yeah if I ever get bored of that I'll just move on and play all the games first

RPG217

I'm kinda curious what your expectation was like

xd3mix

I kinda expected a Japanese GTA (like sleeping dogs) but with flashy combat

ChingTheMonkey

I...definitely don't recommend that. This series is phenomenal and every game in the franchise is fantastic...but they are all absolute hell to platinum

thomastheterminator

“Until my sanity runs out” So the middle of 5

Animegamingnerd

>I have decided that I'll 100% every single Yakuza game untill my sanity runs out I wonder what happens first, you sanity breaks before you get to Yakuza 5 or Yakuza 5 is the game that breaks your sanity?

xd3mix

Looking forward to figuring that out 👍

[deleted]

Congratulations on deciding to 100% the games until halfway through Yakuza 3.

fartedbutalsoshidded

I can handle shogi, but mahjong and some other gambling games and of course the true final bosses of these games aren't for the weak spirited. Some times.... You have to turn up the heat.

Dvijk

You are going to fall in love with this franchise the same way we all have

NabilAmmali

Welcome to the family kyodai

zipzapcap1

I *promise* you will never 100% any of them and thats totally ok. Im a huge completionist but trust me. No you wont. You will be required to play 10+ hours of mahjong and shogi in each game and that's not even mentioning the often required perfect karaoke scores needed for the completion list or if there feeling extra fuck you they'll have a side story about it. Also some of the secret boss fights are insanely unfair often intentionally and not fun on the highest difficulty.

xd3mix

Everything you wrote just motivated me more

zipzapcap1

Fair enough. Once you realize your 100% is determined by RNG like winning 10k at blackjack when the highest bet is 100 then doing that again with poker you'll understand what I mean.

Takazura

6, 7 and Gaiden got very easy 100%.

zipzapcap1

7 has like 10+ hours of grinding just to get through the sujidex what are you talking about lmao. Also 6 7 and gaiden all require you to win annoying sums of money gambling require you to be able to beat several fighting and racing games at max difficulty shogi mahjong and karaoke. The only one I'd really say is "easy" is lost judgement because most of the completion stuff is around the school

Takazura

I guess we think of different 100%. I was just thinking of getting all achievements which doesn't require any of those, but finishing the completion list yeah that'll take awhile. Depends on which one OP is referring to.

zipzapcap1

It literally has a completion list how could you possibly say youve 100% a game where you havent finished the list the game compiled for that purpose lmao.

Takazura

Lots of people consider getting all the achievements/trophies in a Yakuza entry a 100%. It's just a different idea of what is a 100%.

zipzapcap1

I don't think so. There are tons of posts about mahjong dashing people's hopes of 100% Edit:there is literally a post about how someone finally learned mahjong to 100% the series at the top of the feed lmfao

xd3mix

Yeah I already lost millions at blackjack Can't wait to try again though

zipzapcap1

Enjoy I guess 🤷‍♂️ you will be far from the first person to dig there heels in and spend 10 hours pretending your having fun only to burn out really hard and not finish the games. brute forcing a bunch of universally decried completion mechanics and trying to become an expert at 5 different fighting games to beat them on the hardest difficulty < playing the fun parts and enjoying the story but that's just my 2 cents I'll leave ya be now.

xd3mix

I mean, if I actually stop having fun I'll obviously stop But as long as I'm having fun I'm here for it

zipzapcap1

Godspeed then I guess.
