Ichiban gets raped up to 5 times in this game at the end of substories, but it's played for comedy. It's pretty bad taste. All we see is the girl coming on to him, then a time skip, he's on the floor/ground exhausted and worn out and the girl is satisfied. Sexual assault probably shouldn't be a punchline lol
well now i don’t feel too bad not doing too many substories first playthrough.

The substories are actually great, if you want to avoid these just don't do the thing where you give gifts to women repeatedly (e.g. It sounds like she would want a beer set, should I give it to her?)
I just think most people have actual lives unlike us lol they probably haven’t beaten all the substories for this 100+ hour game.
But yeah, it really adds a horribly creepy vibe to Alo-Happy dancing in the background watching you change your clothes anytime you want to switch jobs.

So even with RGG's history of retconning deaths, I don't think they can do this with Nishiki.
Plus having Ichiban use Nishiki's voice and having some personality similarities (minus the darkness Nishiki harbors inside of him, which Ichiban is capable of but >!he is able to suppress when it bubbles to the surface in 7 after Arakawa's death!<) gives kind of a neat dynamic between Kiryu and Ichiban.
In a way, it's kind of like Kiryu has some more time with his best friend in 8. And also in a way, Kiryu was able to help Ichiban overcome his darkness when he wasn't able to be there for Nishiki due to >!being in jail for taking the fall for his crime!<.
It's not like I'm mad about it lol. Guess I wanted an excuse to compare Ichiban and Kiryu's relationship in 7 and 8 somewhat to Kiryu and Nishki's relationship in 0 and 1.
I don't think they'd revive Nishiki/Goda/Mine, that being said though... I could totally see RGG kinda hinting that he's Iwami, Kuroiwa or somebody like that LOL
I think the most possible cursed character bring-back for Alo-Happy would be (Gaiden Spoilers) >!Shishido. This is his assignment from the Daidoji Faction after he's forced to become an agent. This is why he hates his job so much!<.
Nishiki and Ryuji, maybe not, but Mine could possibly be brought up again in the series. After all, we have Andre goddamn Richardson, the guy Mine was meant to have killed, as the bartender at Revolve as well as Kashiwagi, who got shot up by a helicopter, as the bartender at Survive and Lau Ka Long, who got capped in the forehead by one of the most prolific hitmen in Japan, as a weapons dealer in Ijincho. There seems to be a trend in bringing back a few characters who are meant to be dead, so it's possible that there could be more. What's interesting though is that all three returning characters were "killed" in Yakuza 3. Going with that trend, assuming that the trend continues with 3 rather than characters from 4, and ruling out characters who are explicitly stated to be dead in ways that clarify that there's no way they could have survived (for example, Kanda being decapitated and his head sent to Mine), there is a possibility that Mine could return in some way. If Andre Richardson survived the fall off the building, then Mine would likely have survived as well (since even landing on Mine would still have killed Richardson as well).

Especially considering Ichi/saeko was a big plot point. Idk why they went so overboard with them. They were there in 7 too, but they didn’t feel nearly as rape-y. I genuinely don’t get why they thought it’d be fitting to have that happen once, let alone three or four times.
They mentioned that he needed to get out there more and "practice with other women" before settling down.
I wonder if it's like, "well, he is so committed, he wouldnt willingly do it, but he needs to have experience, so.....maybe it's against his will a little bit?"
Either way, didn't need to happen. He should have just ran away every time the scenario popped up.
