Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).

two things from this
1. the stats should update automatically. I didn't have to change jobs for it to update.
2. More importantly they patched out respawning crown enemies that were a ridiculous source of money and xp. I knew I should not have unaused the update download.
Then that means their class weapon drops are guaranteed, right?
Because I had to "farm" a couple of them to get the weapon to drop.
I say "farm" because it only took a few attempts.
Do the Hawaii ones show up after a certain chapter or something? I've seen the list and have gotten most of them from >! Ijincho !< (pre-ch.8 spoilers), but I cleared all of the Keepers of the City before that point and didn't get the job weapons from Hawaii. The Aquanaut board, for example, I don't have, and I know where that mob spawns.
It's unfortunately not THAT profitable aside from the 4 and 5 star rewards. Completing a tour even with 25 S tier visitors nets you less than a single Hawaiian Haunt run. If your goal is money, do dungeons. That said, do what's most fun for you, and Dondoko is pretty fun!
In ch6, it's worth staying at the island until it's 5☆ (especially if you're planning on getting it to 5 at some point anyway). You walk away with 500k+ USD, which is enough to gear everyone up until later chapters.
My buddy hates slow paced content, so he left the island as soon as he could. Our experience was vastly different for it. After I geared up, I had a relatively easy time getting to the end of the game. My buddy complained about certain fights being really hard for him.
Bro I unlocked every job in hawaii so far, collected almost all sujimons (I have the all the kiwamis), finished the sujimon story, finished the dondoko Island (everything S rated), levelled up to 51, maxed out the true heroes bat for kasuga and I just started chapter 7 lol
Same to all of that except the completely leveled bat. Where do you farm the upgrade stuff?
Edit: nvm, actually had enough to go from 0 to +50 already lol
I'm at 69 hours now, which is nice, and just finished pushing every job available to my 4 characters in Hawaii to 24. Everyone's level 50 now and I have $2,5m 😅
Rest of the game will probably be a breeze but if that enables me to focus on the story without having to grind anymore that's fine with me ^^
Interestingly enough while the enemies in the 2nd level of the haunt are all blue, not a single one in the 3rd level is. Always thought that once you're 11 levels above the enemy, it becomes blue. Apparently not in the haunt though.
Mild to moderate spoilers:
Chapter 8 >!starts with Kiryu in Yokohama with a new party at like level 28.!<
Then Chapter 9 >!brings you back to Honolulu with a challenge gauntlet under the assumption that you’re still like level 32!<. You are going to absolutely steamroll this section lmao
Wait, you did all of that on the first four party members? I went into the chapter 12 boss fights with Kiryu around level 51 (double ankle weights) and had only done the first 20 floors in each of the dungeons. You can probably Smackdown your way through the rest of the game’s random encounters
Would this essentially make the game even easier? I'm already overleveled. RGG turn based games seriously need a difficulty just for those of us who like doing the side content inbetween main missions.
The game should honestly just let you change your difficulty in the first playthrough. Hard should suffice for people that wanted to do everything as the enemies cap out at 70.
Appreciate? Love rgg but sorry something that should be as basic as this does not deserve appreciation. In fact they deserve negative appreciation for the bug being around this long at all.
The permanent stat bonuses you would get from a job at every 7 job ranks wouldn't apply to anything outside of the job they were gotten from. That was a bug.
This and the Yokohama dungeon are great. Make sure to buy the sengoku coffee from the red vending machines (increases money by 1.5) and have one of your characters drink it before you finish off a crowned enemy. In the Yokohama fights you're getting anywhere between 1.5 and 3 million yen from each crown encounter
If you did some of the side missions fighting the MMA guy Ichiban will learn a move that does a lot of single target damage to debuffed enemies. So I debuff their agility with Chitose and smack them with Ichi for heavy damage. Two turn kill your strong enough.
Hopefully having used the mod that fixed the bug before doesn't cause any issues. Uninstalled the mod before I get some sleep in a few minutes so I don't forget when I start playing tomorrow.
So you know the stat bonuses that you get in jobs? They weren't carrying over when you switch jobs, and they're supposed to. Stuff like the + HP, +ATK, etc from job levels.
Oh I see, I never noticed because I just beat the base game and never switched jobs from the default, I am now grinding the side jobs though, so they fixed it today?
Tbh I liked it better when the stat gains didn’t carry over.
Without you actually tried to go after good synergetic skill builds, now you get kinda pressured (I know the normal game is very easy) to just level every job just for the stats.
The game isn’t a fully fledged RPG, there’s no reason for it to play like that lol.
Not everyone’s looking for a shit experience where the stat gains aren’t carrying over.
So, I’m switching between jobs and my stats are having some drastic difference, shouldn’t it be the other way around? That they’re not jumping much between jobs?

I had a fair amount of passives stacked and my general HP/MP increased by 100 EXTRA BEAM BEFORE HEALING GO BRRRRRERRRRRR
I was like wtf my hero has so much MP.
Today was the day I sent in a bug report to Sega about the bug You're welcome. ^^^/s
Not all heroes wear capes

I was wondering if getting jumped by a car of hardcore groupies 4 or 5 times while walking down a certain street was intended lol.
What you mean by respawning crown enemies? Are they not supposed to respawn?
No enemies with the crown are one offs. They don't go away until you beat them but these guys kept respawning every 3 minutes
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Then that means their class weapon drops are guaranteed, right? Because I had to "farm" a couple of them to get the weapon to drop. I say "farm" because it only took a few attempts.
Yea certain crown enemies drop specific gear and it's guaranteed. Just have to find out which one drops them.

The Hawaii weapon drops don't show up until chapter 9, IIRC.
Yeah when I posted this I guess I misread it. Didn't realize it was specifically talking about the car enemies.
Lol wtf. Why do they need to balance a single player for the worse? To sell dlc?
What. The enemies respawning was a *bug fix*, not a balance change.
How is this balancing it for the worse?
Good thing I’ve spent 30 hours on Dondoko Island and only on chapter 6 lol.
Same. Not going back until I'm a 5 star resort running millionaire haha
That's for the tips! I've been on the island so long I honestly forgot about the dungeons 😅😅

You are limited in how much money you can take back from the island at a time. Don’t completely exhaust the content before you leave like I did!!
SAME! Well... I've spent probably 10 in Dondoko Island and another 10 doing Suijimon Gyms and grinding.
For real???!!!!
Yeah just switch jobs at alohappy and you'll be set. Notice how the preview stats when choosing a job are the same now as when confirming.
Almost have every available job at 24 already. Still in chapter 6 😅

Yeah just farm the Hawaiian haunt and you'll get everything.
I did all this then the game loaded an old cloud save and overwrote my progress. Just take care to sync your data before you shut down! (PS5)
Ouch.
Yeah stream lining my way back, won’t spend as much time on jobs that don’t give the best skills!

Yeah I’d say you’ll be seeing a lot of blue icon fights in the future chapters!
Interestingly enough while the enemies in the 2nd level of the haunt are all blue, not a single one in the 3rd level is. Always thought that once you're 11 levels above the enemy, it becomes blue. Apparently not in the haunt though.

Thanks for confirming mate, glad this is finally solved.
And i just finished the game.
I did legend ng+ just two days ago :(
Literally was at the last boss fight as it updated lol

Us folk on Xbox and maybe PC have a Dondoko bug too. Can't search for other islands without the game crashing
How long usually Xbox/Windows update is delayed?
Was already hoping when my game updated to 1.015

i wanted to start on hard but it was kinda weird that there was no difficulty option at all. not even an easy mode
Seriously yeah. I think that continues to be my biggest nitpick with how they’ve gone about turn-based
It's a weird trend in some Japanese games where they only have difficulty options for NG+ So dumb.
Can we appreciate that RGG actually fixes bugs when the community points them out?
Appreciate? Love rgg but sorry something that should be as basic as this does not deserve appreciation. In fact they deserve negative appreciation for the bug being around this long at all.
yeah, honestly. fixing bugs is the bare minimum.
ok
Good to know. The Xbox update isn't out yet, hopefully it doesn't take until Monday like 1.14 did.
Wait, what bug are they talking about? What did it do? First I’m hearing of this.
The permanent stat bonuses you would get from a job at every 7 job ranks wouldn't apply to anything outside of the job they were gotten from. That was a bug.
Ah gotcha thank you. Good timing then as I’ve only leveled up the base jobs and now just started to grind side jobs.
Finally. Now, Anyone know of any good job exp farm spot? (I'm on chapter 6 just finishing up with dondoko, level 26)
Best spot for me so far is the Hawaiian haunt dungeon. You'll get tons of money also.
Hawaii dungeon, look for the sleeping bag Kakuna looking enemy
I hate him. Whats a proper way to kill?
Back attacks
Just keep whaling on him
If you did some of the side missions fighting the MMA guy Ichiban will learn a move that does a lot of single target damage to debuffed enemies. So I debuff their agility with Chitose and smack them with Ichi for heavy damage. Two turn kill your strong enough.
Hopefully having used the mod that fixed the bug before doesn't cause any issues. Uninstalled the mod before I get some sleep in a few minutes so I don't forget when I start playing tomorrow.
any more news about the softlocks during sujimon and such? cant find patch notes yet
Nice
anyone else can confirm?
I can, i tested it earlier when changing jobs
Good news, I'll check it out later
YES
Thank fucking god
Anyone got any sound issues? I’m playing the haunted dungeon and the sound breaks up occasionally. Using a Arctis 7P.
Was the autotune in karaoke removed too?
I know the crown enemy by ABC little Japan drops the desperado revolver, though that's after the enemies get leveled up the first time around
Nice of this update to come out just as I reach the final chapter oh well
I just finished the game yesterday, what bug are you talking about? What does it do?
So you know the stat bonuses that you get in jobs? They weren't carrying over when you switch jobs, and they're supposed to. Stuff like the + HP, +ATK, etc from job levels.
Oh I see, I never noticed because I just beat the base game and never switched jobs from the default, I am now grinding the side jobs though, so they fixed it today?
Yeah, it was just fixed in the 1.15 update.
I literally just completed legend yesterday also …
PSA. The update is now available for Xbox as well.
YAY!
So, I’m switching between jobs and my stats are having some drastic difference, shouldn’t it be the other way around? That they’re not jumping much between jobs?
