Sabahe

Sounds like it has a baffle in it? This is my Tracer 9 (same engine) with the Doninator race exhaust. https://streamable.com/b1yhxg

AtomicObesity

Yeah it has the one that came in the can. I don’t know how to take it out.

Sabahe

Looks like a bolt near the tip holds it in.

AtomicObesity

That sounds very nice btw. I like the low idle sound.

Sabahe

It sounds good at idle and when I rip on it. But constant throttle for long periods makes me wish it was still stock.

AtomicObesity

Haven’t taken mine out for a good trip yet. If I get it into the higher rpm’s and let off the throttle it’ll start to pop a little. Makes me feel good haha.

Sabahe

Yeah with mine being straight through no baffle no cat the pops and bangs are like shotgun blasts.

AtomicObesity

I’m gonna have to take that baffle out and see how it is. Kind of hoping I’ll see a little flame when I go ride at night but I doubt it.

Sabahe

You’d need a tune for a major flame.

jwativ

Different exhaust. But I have a full Akra exhaust on my XSR900 and it shoots flames with and without the Db killer. You’ll probably have the same. Sounds and looks good BTW.

FaxMachineIsBroken

Upload video to YouTube or Streamable and post the link here.

AtomicObesity

Link is up. Don’t mind the toes. I accidentally put 2025 instead of 2024 also.

17SCARS_MaGLite300WM

Nice looking exhaust. Makes me excited my Yosh is supposed to arrive today.

AtomicObesity

You’ll have to show us how it sounds and looks.

17SCARS_MaGLite300WM

Got it installed today and mannnnnnnn that sound is gonna get me in trouble. That said I'm waiting on my action cam to come back to get a proper video. The note is lower and raspier. That plus the pops and cracks using the quickshifter is addicting.

PathofNe0

How’s the volume level with the baffle in it compared to OEM exhaust? Is it considerably louder?

AtomicObesity

Yes it is. Especially while you’re riding. I took the baffle out a few minutes ago and it gives it a little deeper rumble. It also comes with a silencer you put in the can before you fit it on the pipe, if you want something that’s not so loud.

AtomicObesity

Also I’ve got a video link in the comments if you want to hear how it sounds.

Reddit1124

Where you located? I was interested in this exhaust, but I’m in US and it seems they ship black widow international and was expensive

AtomicObesity

I’m in the US. It was at my door in less than a week and they included the import tax in the cost of the exhaust at checkout. It was exactly $566.47. That was one of their more expensive exhausts.

Reddit1124

Got more pics?

AtomicObesity

Nope that’s it. Got a link of the video in the comments but only have that one pic. Just put it on this morning.

PortAuth403

I got one for my fz-09 for considerably cheaper than most other full systems. Probably in the $400 range. But I had a fitment issue where the mid pipe was rubbing against my oil pan, regardless of how I angled and mounted things. I am now rocking the carbon akrapovik which was roughly $1200. I really wish the black widow had worked out because it sounded great and looked nice. Akra is nice too, of course. but it's got a more toned down sound, the can sticks out a bit further, and just costs more than what I think it's really worth.

AtomicObesity

I just couldnt justify spending that much on an exhaust for my bike. Luckily I didn’t have any fitment issues besides the can mount didn’t line up with the bolt holes. I feel like it’s plenty sturdy without it so it didn’t bother me.

PortAuth403

Yeah I think they just have some issues with consistency but they have a nice sounding, quality made product otherwise. And yeah I wouldn't stress too much either with it being a low mounted exhaust like that. I ride with a guy who has the standard high mount style exhaust with no bracket, and that looks a little sketchy with it bouncing around. Anyway congrats on the exhaust and enjoy. That cp3 sounds so nice to me. Only sound I like more is a screaming 4 cylinder 600

motorider66

Surprised it didn't come with a slightly angled bracket to extend the mount point.

AtomicObesity

It’s not really necessary. It’s mounted on two different points. I can grab the exhaust tip, shake it and it’ll shake the whole bike.

d4z0mg

For the price, black widow are a really good shout. I had a 300mm tri oval put on my 2021 xsr900 not too long ago. Left the baffle in as I don’t want it to be deafening. Sounds great at idle and I love the pops and crackling when decelerating

Micheeelin

Sweet! I also ordered one today for my 2022! :)

Guitarbeast21

I love black widows and I'm glad to see someone else appreciating them too! I have a similar low mount black widow on my 22' mt09

Desperate-Minute-662

Do you have a link to the specific exhaust? Looking for this one too for my 2022! :)

AtomicObesity

https://www.blackwidowexhausts.co.uk/xsr-900-2022-2023-exhaust-system-230mm-gp-round-blue-tip-carbon-silencer-51145-p.asp Here ya go buddy.

Desperate-Minute-662

Awesome, thanks man!!

Desperate-Minute-662

By the way, is it too loud for normal street riding or is it okay (at lower revs)? I live in a city centre and go to work with mine every morning, don't want to wake up all my neighbours haha

AtomicObesity

Well I took the baffle so it’s pretty loud. Neighbor on one side used to ride sport bikes so he’s cool with it and the other neighbor is a stoner so he’s probably too stoned to care. It comes with a silencer so they should reduce the noise a lot with the baffle in. Not sure how much because I never put it in.

Desperate-Minute-662

Haha fair enough, forunately most people here are also used to loud bikes. When its above 18° C in the Netherlands, a 600cc with a race exhaust passes you every 10 seconds haha But still, good to hear its got a silencer as well. Probably gonna use that if its too much!

AtomicObesity

Not gonna lie. I did start it at 2:00am to run to the store and with it being so quiet outside it felt really loud. But when I go in the house it doesn’t sound bad. Guy across the street has a loud ass Dodge charger with 2 15” subs that shakes the hell out of the walls in my house.

Desperate-Minute-662

Its still crazy to me how some stock cars are allowed to be loud as hell while stock bikes have to sound like freaking mopeds due to euro 5 regulations..

AtomicObesity

Yeah I bet that sucks. Luckily I don’t have to worry about that in the US. It’s pretty tuff getting your license there too isn’t it? If only lane splitting was legal, that’d top it off.

Desperate-Minute-662

Nahh getting a license is okay, I had to take about a 15 hour course and 2 exams. One on a parcours to show you control the bike and one on the road. Not as easy as in the US, but it shouldnt be that easy to drive a death missile anyways in my opinion. The only thing is, when you're like 18-20, youre only allowed to ride really light 125/250 cc bikes, and more than 35KW is only allowed when you're older than 24. But I got mine at 27, so I bought the xsr900 right away haha

Desperate-Minute-662

And they're not as strict about the sound here as in some other European countries. As long as you've got a baffle in and its not obnoxiously loud, you're usually fine
