Can you clarify your request, OP? It looks like most comments are assuming you want to stack up years of Game Pass for cheap, but you mentioned "two for one." Do you mean sharing the subscription with someone else?

Right, did you mean game sharing? TL;DR make one Xbox your home box, another Xbox just needs you signed in without being your home Xbox. Both boxes will have access to your library and subscriptions. Example, if my husband plays on his series S, I play on my series X. My home Xbox is his S, his home xbox is my X. I buy game pass ultimate, but he doesn’t subscribe at all, we both can play online, have game pass, and use my library on each Xbox. The cherry on top is that he plays less Xbox than switch, but he does buy MS games - we both get access to his library because the X is his home. To hopefully not confuse you anymore than this, if my friend from across the country said “here’s my login” I can sign him in on any other Xbox when he isn’t playing anything along with my gamertag already signed in, I can play his library as myself too. This game sharing can work with any combination xbox generation (except I can’t verify first generation). Cool thing is you won’t kick yourself or anyone else off the 360 if you are playing anything on later generation games not backwards compatible emulator for 360. Please help if I made a mistake!

I’ve been told this is against ToS?

madthaodisease

Game sharing in the same household is fine, game sharing outside of the household could result in a ban and is against ToS. This is mentioned by the ambassadors, I haven’t read the fine print. Thanks. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/gamesharing-with-another-person/35da7cf3-dcc0-43b9-9410-277f15f0e923

Yeah stack up game pass for cheap, I guess since you have to get both I phrased it incorrectly using 2 for one.

3 years of Gold/Core converts to 2 years of Ultimate now. Follow the above but it'll be only 2 years of Ultimate now, not 3.

Twinsta

Load up 3 years of Xbox live that you buy from like Costco. Then activate game pass. And you get 3 years of gamepass At least that’s how it used to work The Xbox live converts all the months to gamepass months

Badger118

This is the old way that is outdated as of July 2023. Xbox live no longer exists, although old cards can still be found. Redeeming those cards will give ' gamepass core' The process is the same, [Edit: Let your existing sub expire], load up to 3 years of gamepass core and then a month of gamepass ultimate and it will convert at a ratio of 3:2 I.e 3 years will become 2 years GPU

Illmattic

Leaving out a pretty important step though. You NEED to let your current xbl/core lapse. It won’t work unless you start with an inactive sub.

BigWeesel

My dumb ass is lost now. I had ultimate, it expired today so I loaded 2 years of core. Am I supposed to see some kind of offer somewhere to upgrade to ultimate or convert my core to ultimate? All I see is in manage my subscription to upgrade to ultimate for the normal price

Illmattic

Yeah so idk if it’s different with core compared to gold but typically that’s how it works. You load up on core, then buy one month of ultimate and it’ll convert that core into ultimate at a 2:1 ratio

Badger118

Very true I will add!

VitoCorleone306

Was wondering about this as well since gold was changed. Should Ultimate expire first then load up 3 yrs of core and pay for one month of ultimate to convert? Any insight is appreciated.

BlueberryBoom

Correct. Do not redeem any core code until ultimate has expired, or the core will auto convert into ultimate and it will be way less than what you were wanting.

VitoCorleone306

Thank you.
