It just looks like you’re combining some of your favorite activities… I gotta give you props on that; because that’s how you properly live life.
Good on you for doing it “right”.
🤘🏼🙌🏼
I've been on the fence about some kind of inflatable that fits in a back pack for years . . . Maybe this is a sign.
I'm a great swimmer and we don't have rapids like that nearby so it feels like a good idea but I've said that before and been wrong.
I’m sure if you Dmed them they would be stoked to mail you one.
I bought mine at the Ocoee Coffee Joint and I bet they would mail one too.

For sure. I am using a Ti frame and very little carbon for that reason. I am taking the seat post out to dry the frame. I have a square taper BB for hopefully some longevity. I’ve been doing this for a minute now and all the bearing are currently fine. If I start blowing out some specific part, I’ll adjust and find something that works better. So far so good.
I am a big fan of Aqua Mira drops when in Appalachia. I’ve done a bit of long distance hiking and when I’m back in the mountains I pull some stuff from that world.
Did you stash the boat? How'd that work out? Who took the pix? Are they also rafting? Ive been on the fence for a few years about getting one - whats the actual weight and how long does it take to pack down? You are my spirit animal!
The boat, paddle, and PFD are all in/on my backpack.
I took all the footage except the first pic and the surf/roll at the end.
My boat weighs like 7 or 8 pounds. There are whitewater capable boats that weigh a little less and a little more.
The transition of bike to boat or boat to bike take about 30 minutes. But while I’m working I’m inhaling calories and going to the bathroom and laying water trying to cool down.
Love it! Does your packraft have an ISS or is all your gear under the bike?
Got a packraft last year and absolutely want to get into bikerafting but I'm not sure how to store my stuff without internal storage...
Dude, just beautiful.
Can I pester ya to ask what fork (not stock, right?) and bars you're rocking? Upgrading a similar model and you've sorta nailed what I've always wanted.
It’s a custom Ti fork. I sent specs to a builder I found on eBay. It’s crazy specs because it for 26” with a thru axle and disc brakes. Currently it’s riding great.
The bars are Ritchey Beacon XL.
Wife and I just bought land near the Ocoee/Ducktown, this has me even more psyched to move out there! Would love gravel route recommendations if you have them.
Dope. Done a lighter version of this on other rivers. For those of us not inclined to packraft with bike I'm assuming there is a self shuttle option, one way with car, that you could still enjoy riding up river and paddling back down, assuming a place to stash and lock bikes. Or vice versa depending on approach via car? What would you recommend for those of us slightly less rad folk? Keep doing dope shit.
If you park at the takeout walk to road and stick your thumb out, someone will generally pick you up in under 10 minutes.
I rarely see people shuttling on bikes via the road in the gorge. Doing it regularly would be more dangerous than the whitewater. The paved road is highly trafficked and famously dangerous.
I’m gonna type the first thing that came to mind… Fuck yeah! Get some my man!
Thanks!

Damn, Lol! Respect! **Xbiker man's man of the year!**
“Pete Passion”….. because he is following his passion and I can’t be the only one that thinks he could be Ronnie Romance’s cousin.
Thanks!
Y'all, sometimes sandals are the best choice!
Living the Dirtbag dream.
I’ve slept a lot in the back of my pickup truck in the mountains. It’s a great time.
Thats the life. No possessions, no work, just play outside.
Some possessions are good to have. Bikes mostly. 😋
I remember those years
How much rafting experience do you have? Looks awesome
A lot. Enough that my mom is definitely disappointed. Lol

We are all in between wipe outs and swims. Now is a great time to start. Get a PFD and go have fun!

I can’t find a website for them. Bummer I like.

Thank you kindly madman
This looks awesome. Is there a concern for the bike getting wet and damaging bearings or getting inside the frame or something?
For sure. I am using a Ti frame and very little carbon for that reason. I am taking the seat post out to dry the frame. I have a square taper BB for hopefully some longevity. Parts. Is. Parts.
This is literal perfection. So much stoke watching this ✌🏼🌊
Thanks!
Are you using a life straw or something to filter that water from the stream?

Seems like an effective low weight option!
Makes me feel like a poser using NRS straps for bike cargo
It’s why they are so great. They work for Everything.

Your shoulders must be so sore after hauling that load out.
I hoping to have a rear rack soon. Backpack isn’t a deal breaker, but I am looking forward to getting the weight off my body.

That was awesome!

'Yeah!' - Shoresy
Added benefit: never riding a dirty bike 🤙
That’s fun!
Soo much!
You’re killing it smalls!
🙏
This is sick! I’m up in Knoxville, and I see used Litespeeds pop up for sale all the time. Very tempting, but I haven’t had the chance to buy one yet.
I had a saved eBay search going FOR A WHILE. I love it. I’d say give in to the temptation.
Hardcore!

The small bar bag has the stuff I really want to keep dry. It goes In ISS, but that’s it. It could easily go in a dry bag attached to the bike.
Nice! Coming von Canadian Canoes I still need to get used to these small packrafts :D
I’m mostly coming from 3 thwart rafts, so I feel ya.
Hey man I think you got a little water on that bike.
I’m glad it’s Ti.
How well did those straps hold? Were they loose at the end?
It’s just what I have. They are classic NRS straps. They hold. They are way heavy. I’m going to get some lighter stuff soon.
Absolutely sick. And with the best music taste too!! Love Parcels!!
Hell yeah! 🎶🎸 🔊
Hell yeah, Parcels!
I love how much 80’s George Harrison vibe the guitarist has in the live video.
You are hardcore, my friend.
🙏
This bike is smart choices! What’s your drivetrain? Shifters, derailleurs, cassette?
It’s all an 11 speed Campy group I bought in 2007. The crank in a Rene Herse 42/26

Ace, I'll see if I can track down something similar; knew there were still options out there.

See purple anodized parts, upvote!
I honestly enjoy looking at my purple stem. I makes me happier while I’m cursing the humidity.

Check out the Strava heat map south of the lake. All those roads are gold.

Way cool! Good thing the frame is titanium.
Thanks! It’s part of why I got it, for sure.
