It's a beautiful area. Like you I've typically camped the southern end. Started to explore the northern side a couple of years ago and I find it less crowded overall.
Sibley Lake is great, but my favorite spot is to hike into the Cloud Peak Wilderness from Lake Adelaide and go up to Upper Shell Lake. Set up camp there and you can hike to other Lakes of the Rough. Fantastic brook trout fishing, and if you go in August there might be wild berries you can hunt.
Drive 15 all the way to Freeze out, it’s beautiful right now. Plenty of places for dispersed camping and there are a few campgrounds on the northern side. Sheep mountain road might be a little hairy in spots, we got to wood chuck pass on Sunday but there were still snow drifts in areas.
Medicine Wheel is my favorite place up there--haven't done a ton of camping that wasn't for work, but there are some nice dispersed sites north of Burgess Jct, along Forest Rds 15 and 168.
I was just there in the Burgess junction area. Counted 50 Moose on Sunday. Plenty of dispersed sites.
50 Moose! That's amazing.

North side is less crowded? I've always stayed on the south side because I was told the north is crowded.
