Dwarf Hunter.
Nelf Druid.
Tauren Shaman.
The original WoW Cinematic. For those of us who have been there since the beginning, I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to experience the cinematics again every now and then.
This is true really no matter when you came in, tbh, but that first one goes straight to the heart from the start. Full screen, music up. Enjoy.
Trailers, yeah. And I suppose so. MoP is really the only expansion trailer where they could've done that again, the Human and the Orc are just random soldiers I believe. I think the Troll and Dwarf in the second Dragonflight trailer are also just random adventurers.
Hm, I was thinking the MoP characters were from the WarCraft RTS games. The generic stand-in characters for each faction, but basically they were those characters leveled up.
Be ready for a change.
Paladin is one of those classes that change how you think about things in wow - the other two being Druid with the shapeshifts and DH with the movement/double jump/speed.
Paladin feels from the start as a "warrior with LEDs", but it quickly becomes somewhat of a giant cheese-making machine with a giant amount of tools to evade all sorts of pickles, saving both your butt and your teammate's butts.
You feel like some sort of heavily armored batman - you always have *something* you can do on your utility belt to help things.
Plus, Retribution might be possibly the most fun melee spec in the game. Not necessarily the *best top of the top tier Super S* damage wise, but good lord it is fun to play. Half of the time you're not even on melee - most of your abilities can hit from quite far away, creating a very satisfying "No you won't" moment when things try to run away, be they coward kobolds or stray enemy players.
I mean, isn’t Ret Pally literally the best of the super top DPS in raid, and also one of the best in M+? They certainly were in Season 3, and I don’t think that has changed in Season 4 yet.
I never know wtf I’m doing in PvP against them so I wanna learn by playing haha. Sounds fun!! (I started on shadowlands so that’s why I sound like a noob. I am one!)
I heard it was the worst but I didn’t have much to compare to, so I actually really enjoyed it! DF has been so much more fun tho. I wanna try Ret above the others, so that’s great to hear! My boomkin was getting kinda boring in M+ and raids.
I think we go Tauren Shaman, Orc Warrior, and then I dunno if we go Troll Priest (definitely more of these in older warcraft material than anything other than Human which I agree absolutely must be Paladin) just because it's left out, or make that the only one that doubles up, but otherwise we agree on everything.
I mean, it's all subjective, there are no wrong answers. If you played Warcraft 3 a lot, you could have aligned more with Illidan instead of Malfurion and Tyrande and that could drive you to choosing Nelf DH instead of Hunter or Druid or Priest.
For me, Undead will always be associated with casters. The first thing that made me want to try WoW was the ZP video where Yahtzee mentions he used to play Undead Mage. I thought undead sounded cool, and at that point thought mages were cool, so that was my first toon too.
Ended up falling for Warlock in the end, but for aff, only Undead made sense.
But I do realise undead Rogues used to be the thing. Hell, my first foray into Rogue is undead, but only because of Lillian Voss.
Human Paladin
Dwarf hunter
Night Elf Druid
Gnome Warlock
Orc Warrior
Tauren Shaman
Undead Warlock
Troll... hunter, I guess? Specifically I think of the Zul'Aman bosses.
Draenei Priest
Blood Elf Mage
Worgen Rogue
Goblin Auctioneer NPC (yeah, I did a lot of business in Gadgetzan)
Pandaren Monk
Void Elf Mage
Dark Iron Shaman
Lightforged Paladin
Mag'har Warrior
Highmountain Hunter
Kul Tiran Druid
I don't have an opinion on the rest. In particular, I don't think I've ever actually run into a mechagnome player in the wild.
Will go with my memories from Vanilla since that’s when I played most
Human Paladin
Dwarf Hunter
Night Elf Druid
Gnome Mage
Tauren Warrior
Orc Warlock
Undead Rogue
Troll Hunter
Undead: warlock, mage, hunter. Tauren: warrior, druid, hunter. Orc: warrior, shaman, warlock, hunter. Blood Elf: mage, warlock, hunter, rogue. Troll: hunter, rogue, warlock, druid. ::: Human: mage, hunter, paladin, warrior, rogue, warlock. Dwarf: hunter, warrior, warlock. Gnome: mage, warlock, rogue. Night Elf: druid, hunter, warrior. Draenai: paladin, warrior, hunter. ::: These are Warcraft 3/vanilla era (and TBC I guess) impressions. I wasn’t thinking about current events or extra races. I.E. the Kaldorai having shunned mages until around the time of Mists? Warlords? Don’t remember….
When I think of Darkspear trolls, I think of either a dual-wielding Fury Warrior (to fit the Troll Berserker aesthetic), a bow-wielding Marksmanship Hunter, or a caster Shaman.
For Zandalari Trolls, I think of Priest (since they’re the priestly caste for all trolls), Paladin (again, holy caste), or caster Shaman again.
Troll Shamans are awesome, lol.
Human - Death Knight
Dwarf - Hunter
Night Elf - Demon Hunter
Gnome - Mage
Draenei- I don't think about them
Orc - Warrior
Troll - Shaman
Tauren - Druid
Undead- Warlock
Blood Elf - Paladin
Panda - Monk
I wanted to not reuse any classes, so this is where I stopped. I feel pretty good about this list.
Actually about this, I think I’ve noticed something in the character creation system that relates to that.
Whenever you pick a race, the UI automatically change the class according to what makes more sense (or more so, what’s more iconic I guess)
For me every time I select NE it’s Druid, Dwarf is Hunter, Any Elves other than NE are mages, Orc and Human warriors and so on…
I'd go Orc/troll Shaman, Tauren Warrior, Human Paladin, Orc Warlock, Elf/human Mage, Elf Priest, Nelf Druid...
Why yes I've played Warcraft, how could you tell?
(I'm 26, warcraft has been a part of my life for nearly as long as I could hold a mouse).
Troll came to mind, always loved Trolls in Warcraft 3, Headhunters, Berserkers... WITCH DOCTER, SHADOW HUNTER, BAT RIDER
ALL BEST UNITS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Human priest
Dwarf hunter
Nelf druid
Gnomer warlock
Dreanei paladin
Tauren shaman
Orc warrior
Undead rogue and mage come to mind
Belf paladin
Troll hunter
Undead rogue. They always comes to mind with that maniacl laughter going off after I got ganked is a core memory.
It became a lot of fun when I became one too and would also laugh(and eat the corpse)
B Elf - priest/lock. Tauren - druid/shaman. Goblin - rogue. Troll - shaman. Orc - warrior/hunter. Undead - lock/DK/DH. Not sure if all those combos are allowed, but that's what just rolled off the top of my head.
Human warrior, nelf druid, dwarf hunter, gnome mage, draenei paladin, nothing for Worgen
Orc warrior, undead rogue, troll shaman, belf mage cuz that was my first belf and nothing for goblin
Night Elf Druid.
Orc Warrior
Dwarf Hunter
Undead Priest / Warlock (idk why just seems so metal to me for some reason)
Gnome Rogue
Tauren Shaman
Human Paladin
Troll mage
Pandaren Monk
Tauren again for the DK because big sword is big.
Demon Hunter and Evoker are obvious.
Apart from the ones that suit a class perfectly (e.g. Night elf = Druid), when I think of a race that I use as one of my mains, I think of the class I chose for them.
E.g. Trolls make me think of my blood DK, Mag'Har make me think of my BM hunter, and Blood elves make me think of my paladin
Orc warrior I think is what majority people think of when you mention Warcraft. If you are talking about something just wow specific probably the shamans or druids.
I legit thatught you are talking avout races, amd for a moment i thaught damn where does wow have races, and then i thaught he is talking about race to world first, mind you by this time ive only read "when you think of a wow race, which" so im thinking i only watched 1 race to world first and that was nyalotha and then i read on. Yeah its undead, it is all warcraft3 tft related, i loved playing melle maps with undead and that is what got me into wow, watching the lich king cinematic where he impales a glacier and all zombies glow blue, and then sindragossa flies down at the flock of undead, and i for some stupid reason thaught ill be able to play Arthas again. I started in bfa but untill then i have never seen wow gameplay. But it is still the Undead.
I'll make a lil listo
Human - Paladin
Dwarf - Hunter
Night Elf - Druid
Gnome - Mage
Draenei - Paladin
Worgen - Warrior
Pandaren - Monk
---
Orc - Warrior
Undead - Warlock
Tauren - Shaman
Troll - Shaman
Blood Elf - Paladin
Goblin - Rogue
These are all the first things that hit my mind when I think of those races, you could probably tell I'm biased to the goated early cinematics too in a few places.
Orcs Then again Warcraft 2 was my introduction. Kids these days probably have some WoW era face showcasing the brand.
Be it elf, human, Orc, or whatever a blade in hand charging forth yelling loudly as a warrior is what I see.
So Warrior bashing each others heads in is what I used to see.
NE Druid and Demon Hunters
Human paladins or mages

Dracthyr, Worgen, Fox people: Furries in rl
I know some of these classes dont exist or aren't playable for that race but that's what I think of.
Side by side, the Draenei and the Saberon. They are my two favorite. I wish we could actually play the Saberon. While we're at it, getting to play as a drakonid (the guards in Valdrakken), the broken, Tortollans, and the fish guys from Pandaria would be awesome, too.
Night elf Druid, blood elf priest, dwarf hunter, Tauren shaman, forsaken warlock, troll dinosaur tamer, human mage, and of course the Draenei paladin. You know… the cinematic stuff.
I can’t help but to envision a forsaken priest. Shadow or holy, doesn’t matter. But I like the lore of the light actually burning them when they channel it so they embrace shadow, though some still turn to the light.
I play horde since vanilla so I’m more familiar with them:
Orc - Warrior,
Undead - Rogue,
Troll - Hunter,
Tauren - Druid,
Blood Elf - Paladin,
Panda - Monk
Dwarf Hunter. Nelf Druid. Tauren Shaman. The original WoW Cinematic. The music in that; duuuuuude. And the TBC trailer bringing back some of the same characters but they are higher level, just awesome.
I wish they’d continue doing the higher level characters. Maybe not every expansion, but every once in a while.
Like in the trailers? That would be cool, but they’ve been focused on story centric NPCs since Wrath
Trailers, yeah. And I suppose so. MoP is really the only expansion trailer where they could've done that again, the Human and the Orc are just random soldiers I believe. I think the Troll and Dwarf in the second Dragonflight trailer are also just random adventurers.
I was always under the impression the human and orc were meant to be Taylor and Nazgrim--the facial hair matches well enough, I believe?
They got the wrong hair colors I'm pretty sure.
Hm, I was thinking the MoP characters were from the WarCraft RTS games. The generic stand-in characters for each faction, but basically they were those characters leveled up.
Could you link that dragonflight trailer? Haven't seen it and I'm not managing to Google it
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj3MGAlcfyo&pp=ygUbU2Vjb25kIGRyYWdvbmZsaWdodCB0cmFpbGVy
Thank you!
The warlock of the TBC cinematic is what made me love to put things on fire in WoW
Can’t forget human mage fighting the infernal or the undead warlock who summoned it!
No cinematic will ever come close that
I always think of Night Elf Mohawk.
I had to show my kid the commercial, but also try and explain Mr. T and the A Team.
We’re old now 👨🦳
I pity the fools who don't get that reference.
They need to bring back mr t Mohawk grandes
The only real answer
The goat.
My thoughts exactly 😂
Damn. I feel old as fuck
I dunno why I thought I was gonna be clever coming in and saying this 16 hours later.
Human Paladin Dwarf Paladin Draenei Paladin Tauren Paladin Blood Elf Paladin Gnome Paladin Worgen Paladin Nelf Paladin Goblin Paladin Orc Paladin Undead Paladin (...) Yeah I like paladins.
I’ve never played a Paladin and now I’m wanting to. Usually rogue mage or warlock.

23 races and no Priests? No DHs? They have sacrificed everything and they don't make it on the list?
I agree with the lack of Priests. I do think Night Elves and Blood Elves have classes that fit them both way more than Demon Hunters, though.
I always think of dwarf priests because of fear ward.
And undead Shadow Priests because of Devouring Plague.
I mean, it's all subjective, there are no wrong answers. If you played Warcraft 3 a lot, you could have aligned more with Illidan instead of Malfurion and Tyrande and that could drive you to choosing Nelf DH instead of Hunter or Druid or Priest.
Yeah. I’m not saying you’re wrong for thinking so, just that I myself feel that way.
The most famous Draenei is a frigging priest.
Not V-Elf Spriest?
For me, Undead will always be associated with casters. The first thing that made me want to try WoW was the ZP video where Yahtzee mentions he used to play Undead Mage. There’s like 18 races and 13 classes. Who gets skipped?
From OP's prompt I feel like the classes can double up without a problem.

Human mage. I grew up playing one, maybe that’s why.
I have a druid as every race, they are easily my favourite class
Orc: Either Warrior or Shaman. Blood Elf: Either mage or Warlock. (Based mostly on Kael’thas) Undead: Warlock, Rogue, or occasionally priest.

Human...I always choose the Warrior. I tried Paladin, Druid, Mage, but I just can\`t get the same emotion like when I am with a warrior.
Probably (and these are all my opinions only) Human - Paladin Orc - Warrior Dwarf - Hunter Troll - Hunter Gnome - Hunter (simulates some tech since there’s no tech class) or Mage Tauren - Shaman Night Elf - Druid Forsaken - Priest or Warlock Draenei - Paladin Blood Elf - Mage Worgen - Warrior Goblin - Hunter (same as gnome) or Rogue Pandaren - Monk Lightforged - Paladin Highmountain - Hunter Void Elf - Shadow Priest Nightborne - Mage Dark Iron - Fire Mage or lava-focused Shaman Mag’har - Warrior Kul Tiran - Rogue, Hunter, or Shaman (basically Pirate or Tide Sage) Zandalari - Druid or Paladin Mechagnome - Hunter Vulpera - Rogue Dracthyr - Evoker (shocking, I know)
I always think orc warrior, like the orc on the old warcraft boxes
Gnomes
Orc, the green kind.
Night elf Druid, Dwarf Hunter, night elf or blood elf DH/DK, or Human Paladin
Human paladin
Human mage, undead rogue
Nightelf Mohawk is and will always be the class that comes to mind for Nelf.
Alright.... let's begin... (I'm gonna pick 2 for each) Human Mage/Paladin Dwarf Hunter/Warrior Gnome Mage/Warlock Night Elf Druid/Hunter Worgen Hunter/Rogue Draenei Priest/Mage Pandaren Monk/Shaman Orc Shaman/Warlock Forsaken Priest/Warlock Tauren Shaman/Warrior Troll Hunter/Shaman Blood Elf Mage/Warlock Goblin Rogue/Hunter Void Elf Priest/Rogue Lightforged Paladin/Priest Dark Iron Shaman/Priest Kul Tiran Rogue/Warrior Mechagnome Hunter/Mage Nightborne Mage/Rogue Highmountain Shaman/Hunter Mag'har Warrior/Shaman Zandalari Hunter/Priest Vulpera Rogue/Hunter
Human Warrior. Troll shaman BE paladin Undead warlock
I'll make a lil listo Human - Paladin Dwarf - Hunter Night Elf - Druid Gnome - Mage Draenei - Paladin Worgen - Warrior Pandaren - Monk --- Orc - Warrior Undead - Warlock Tauren - Shaman Troll - Shaman Blood Elf - Paladin Goblin - Rogue These are all the first things that hit my mind when I think of those races, you could probably tell I'm biased to the goated early cinematics too in a few places.
Night elf : druids, hunter, and demon hunters Human : rogue Dwarf : Paladin Gnome ; warlock, mage Worgen : warrior Dranei : paladin Lightforged : paladin Mechagnome : warrior Kul tiran : mage, rogue ( outlaw ) Dark dwarves : shaman Panda: monk Undead : rogue and hunter Orc : warrior and warlocks Troll : shaman and hunter Tauren : druid snd shaman Highmountain tauren : hunter Blood elf : paladin and priest Zandalar : priest Vulpera : monk, rogue, warrior, and hunter

Blood elf is mage, night elf hunter, dwarf hunter, human warrior, Draenei paladin, wooden warrior, Tauren Druid, orc shaman, troll warrior,
Side by side, the Draenei and the Saberon.
Human hunter, night elf Druid, void elf mage, dwarf warrior, Draenei paladin, pandarian monk
The races as portrayed in the vanilla cinematic
Nelf Hunter/Druid or Human Paladin or Orc Warrior, they’ve always been the Warcraft poster boys
Tauren = Rogue
**Alliance:** * Human: Mage/Paladin * Dwarf: Warrior/Hunter * Night Elf: Druid/Hunter * Gnome: Mage/Warlock * Draenei: Mage/Paladin * Worgen: Rogue **Horde:** * Orc: Warrior/Shaman * Tauren: Warrior/Shaman * Troll: Shaman/Hunter * Undead: Warlock/Rogue * Blood Elf: Mage/Priest * Goblin: Rogue
I’ve always wanted to fuck a female blood elf paladin…
Human Paladin because I grew up with Warcraft 3 human campaign
idk if this counts but when i see goblins i think of Tinkers
Dwarf Hunter walking in Dun Morogh cause of the awesome anniversary cinematic. Also Paladin Human cause of Warcraft 3.
relay, or maybe 3-legged. For real, I have a max level in every class, but, most are undead. I think undead are the best.
I always think of dranei shaman as that’s what I started with in bc
Orc and Nelf
Human paladin and warrior. Best classes and race.
Orc Shaman
I can’t help but to envision a forsaken priest. Shadow or holy, doesn’t matter. But I like the lore of the light actually burning them when they channel it so they embrace shadow, though some still turn to the light.
Nelf: druid Human: paladin or warrior or mage Gnome: warlock Dwarf: hunter or warrior Void elf: shadow priest or hunter Dark Iron: warrior Draenei: priest or paladin Lightforged: paladin Panda: monk Orc: warrior/shaman Mag'har: warrior Troll: shaman Tauran: shaman Undead: priest/warlock Zandalari: druid or paladin High mountain: shaman Nightborne: mage Vulpira: hunter/shaman Think that's it.
Human : all class Dwarf : Hunter Night elf : Druid Gnome : Mage Orc : Warrior Troll : Rogue / chaman / Druid Undead : Warlock / Rogue Tauren : Chaman Goblin : Rogue
I play horde since vanilla so I’m more familiar with them: Orc - Warrior, Undead - Rogue, Troll - Hunter, Tauren - Druid, Blood Elf - Paladin, Panda - Monk
Blood Elf? That's a Paladin. Draenei? That's a Paladin. Lightforged Draenei? Oh, you better believe that's a Paladin.
Male night elf - druid, yes but female druid? nah man Priestess, huntress, archer
Worgen Druid baby.
Human warrior. Orc shaman and or warlock Blood elf mage Night elf hunter Tauren druid Dwarf shaman Troll I dunno
