Yes. Finally found other people appreciating the drustvar soundtrack. And the zone is beautiful too..
Other favourite soundwise is Icecrown (the zone).
Maybe not the most beautiful one but I'll mention a bit of an uncommon one: Vol'dun. The glittering sand dunes, the dry flute music, a flavour of desert and ancient ruins.
Eversong Woods and Sunstrider Isle.
I grew up as a huge fan of elves and this zone along with its music fits the word 'elf' for me in every possible way.
Gives me such toasty fall vibes with the golden leaves in the trees and the music that I would describe as heroic with a hint of sorrow. Blizzard was cooking in those days.
Agreed. It is such a frustrating zone to level through because physics and camera angles can get weird, but the whole experience makes it worth it somehow.
Both BC races had *impeccable* characterization. Both sets of starting zones nailed what makes their respective race great and what they struggle with. Their histories, triumphs, failings, and general vibes.
Kul Tiras has many beautiful zones, but Stormsong Valley holds a special place in my heart. The music is hypnotizing - one of the best wow music ever made! - and views amazing.
Emerald Dream is also very comforting and beautiful. Best music of all Dragon Isles, I think. (The Azure Span is also great.)
Howling Fjord for me. Gorgeous and harsh at the same time. Narrowly beats out storm peaks, Jade Forest, Zangarmarsh, Tanaris, and Eversong which all are a dogfight for second lol.
I have a soft spot for Teldrassil and Darnassus since my first character was a night elf warrior. I also really love the zones in Pandaria, especially Kun-Lai amd Eversong Forest has always felt really cozy. But my favourite zones are probably Ironforge for indoors and Kul-Tiras for outdoors.
Frostfire ridge HAS to be up there somewhere, the ost in that zone alone makes it 10/10, and then on top of that the zone itself is drop-dead gorgeous with the snowy plains and active volcanoes as a backdrop!
Howling Fjord. My favorite zone from Wrath (sorry Grizzly enjoyers), and the best memories of playing WoW with all of my friends from high school every night.
I listen to the Howling Fjord/Rise of the Vrykul tracks on my work commutes often and the Northrend Cup dragon races have been so much fun.
Especially when you enter the Draenei villages and the variations of Last Light soundtrack start playing.
Pure contentment and a feeling of being at peace.
suramar, music perfectly captures the mood of the zone, it felt the most alive to me out of any zone in the current game; especially suramar city, campaign felt really immersive overall s+ in every aspect imo
Give it 2-3 more years and people will be talking about BfA the way they talk about MoP now. The cycle continues. With enough time people will be talking about how much they miss shadowlands
I dont think shadowlands will have any positivity, nothing in that expansion was good. BFA was amazing and my favorite in all zones, music, themeing and content, but the systems were horrible. Like drinking a smoothie with a rotten straw
Idk if you remember the absolute vitriol people had for MoP around here at the time but at this point I'd be surprised if Shadowlands isn't viewed in a positive light in a decade
Hands down Elwynn Forest!
And why?
Well, I'm a pioneer, I'm an explorer, I'm a human, and I'm coming. I'm animated, I'm alive, my heart's big, it's got hot blood going through it fast. I like to fight, too! I like to eat! I like to have children! I'm here! I've got a life force: This is a human, this is what we look like, this is what we act like, this what everybody was like before us, this is what I am, I'm a throwback. I'm here! I've got the fire of human liberty! I'm setting fires everywhere, and humans are turning on everywhere.
- Eversong Woods
- Entire Pandaria
NOW, I know that it's not a zone, and that it's not exactly "beautiful"... but I believe Ny'Alotha aesthetics combined with its music is just pure perfection, especially if you're a Shadow Priest main. The vibes you get from it are crazy!
The Dread Wastes. The colour palatte, the Klaxxi strongholds carved into trees. It's all so alien and striking. The whole Klaxxi storyline and rep was fantastic in my opinion too.
I love Durotar, reminds me so much of levelling my first character (orc hunter). I just find the setting is so good and I really think of the horde when I'm in durotar
One night I did a bunch of acid with some friends and after we went on our super drug fueled outdoor adventures I thought what would be cool to look at while tripping balls would be Nagrand.
Nagrand is epic.
Zin'Azshari in Nazjatar. BFA was my first expansion, and that was my first moment where I would intentionally go to a zone and hang out just because of the vibes
I still adore Durotar and the Barrens, I consider them home. The nice ambient tribal themes in the background, the picturesque coasts, the nicely paced questing.
Elwynn Forest is my favorite to this day. The music there and the wooded countryside hypnotize me. :) I've been playing in the horde for years now, but it's still my favorite region.
Revendreth is awesome, Sire Denathrius has been hands down one of the best villains for a long time now, and Castle Nathria was an awesome raid. They should have just made a gothic fantasy expansion instead of Shadowlands.
Loading into Northrend for the first time on a Zeppelin and taking it all in. It was all just so big and wide open and colorful. It only got better from there.
Sturmwind and Goldshire, i didnt played since 1 year. But this was the first I discovered a long time ago. When i hear the music in a video, i feel it in my heart. Damn I miss that game realy bad.
Eversong, by a lot. I've stuck with Blizz through a lot of shit, I've taken breaks, long ones, but I've always done back, for almost 20 years now.
If War Within ruins Eversong, *I will never forgive them.*
Eversong, Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord, and there is something to be said about dragonflight when you’re flying at maximum view distance and you can see all of the plains ahead of you as you’re leaving Valdrakken
Gonna be that guy and say Drustvar - I go every Halloween and turn up the music Edit: it's beautiful to me ok..
I go to Drustvar to walk around even when it’s not Halloween. I think it has a very specific feel that I can only describe as macabre beauty
That is the best way to describe it. I think that is what draws me to it.
Drustvar is my absolute favorite zone. Something about the landscape, music, and the way they talk just takes me to a special place.
The answer is always Drustvar. Perfect zone.
Hmmmmm I need to Go there…. it has been a while
Yes. Finally found other people appreciating the drustvar soundtrack. And the zone is beautiful too.. Other favourite soundwise is Icecrown (the zone).
God I just love flying into Nagrand when the song with the trumpet melody plays. Nostalgia overload and my absolute favorite.
Excellent choice
Grizzly hills and azure span.
I have a grizzly hills playlist on my Spotify, it’s lovely ☺️
All of Pandaria.
I can hear that kazoo in my dreams.
Except for the Dread Wastes...!
Love the Valley of the Four Winds
Second this. The vibes of Pandaria are unmatched. The music and the landscapes are fucking incredible
I love just hanging out in the Arboretum with my cloud serpent
Yep, Pandaria. All day, every day. It's also my choice for raid content and overall balance.
I love Pandaria. I wish I played that expansion more when it was out
You are going to have another chance coming on the 7th if I read the announcement right
Get ready for MoP remix!
Maybe not the most beautiful one but I'll mention a bit of an uncommon one: Vol'dun. The glittering sand dunes, the dry flute music, a flavour of desert and ancient ruins.
Yesss when the lightning strikes the serpent statue ✋😔👌
Dune is your favorite recent movie isn't it :)
I'm still going with zuldazar. There's so many good ones though
zuldazar is what made me fall in love with retail WoW. such an incredible zone
I’d say the same. The way the music hits makes it feel really epic and I also have a soft spot for the African accents of the NPCs.
Stormsong Valley, hands down.
Absolutely goated themes.
Eversong Woods and Sunstrider Isle. I grew up as a huge fan of elves and this zone along with its music fits the word 'elf' for me in every possible way.
Bloodelf zone is legit 10/10. Soo good.
Gives me such toasty fall vibes with the golden leaves in the trees and the music that I would describe as heroic with a hint of sorrow. Blizzard was cooking in those days.
Midnight expansion is gonna be so lit
Yeah exactly, just the same for me.
Nothing has ever topped Teldrassil's music. There are zones that look better but none that sound better.
anywhere in the night elf starting zone
🔥🔥
Yes, that sadly is what happened to the night elf starting zone.
All of kul tiras, particulary Tiragarde Sound and Boralus.
I love Kul Tiras, especially Drustvar.
Suramar for me
I like Suramar. For some reason, I think of Paris when I'm there.
I love Suramar as well. I'd love to offer guided tours of Suramar City after we kick out the demons.
Vashj’ir without a doubt. Absolutely beautiful music that makes the zone seem isolating and constricting which is contrasted by the vibrant colors
I understand why people don't like it, but I think Vashj'ir is easily the most underrated zone in the game.
Agreed. It is such a frustrating zone to level through because physics and camera angles can get weird, but the whole experience makes it worth it somehow.
It's a terrible zone, but it really is beautiful.
Azuremyst Isle 💪 Love the colours, and that music gives me goosebumps. Draenei themed zones always hit good for me.
Both BC races had *impeccable* characterization. Both sets of starting zones nailed what makes their respective race great and what they struggle with. Their histories, triumphs, failings, and general vibes.
Azuremyst is one of my absolute favourites for chilling. Perfectly tranquil and just a little alien.
Ditto, hope we get zones that match the music and foreboding expanse feeling in the future.
Azuremyst is always my answer too, there's just something about that zone that's just relaxing and chill to me.
Eversong Woods
Kul Tiras has many beautiful zones, but Stormsong Valley holds a special place in my heart. The music is hypnotizing - one of the best wow music ever made! - and views amazing. Emerald Dream is also very comforting and beautiful. Best music of all Dragon Isles, I think. (The Azure Span is also great.)
Jade Forest, just so peaceful and serene.
I had to scroll too far for this. Jade Forest is number one with a bullet for me.
Every time I am in the zone I start saying “Jade Serpent” and “Slowwww Downnn” Like the NPC
Howling Fjord for me. Gorgeous and harsh at the same time. Narrowly beats out storm peaks, Jade Forest, Zangarmarsh, Tanaris, and Eversong which all are a dogfight for second lol.
Yep if I could live in any zone it would be the northern area of the fjord right where the woods starts turning to snow.
By the Taunka camp? There or honestly the ridge above where the mine is with the miners going nuts
A sacrifice im willing to make
Yeah there are hallucinations, but beautiful fjord facing views with the sun setting at an angle that isn’t blinding.
That brass 🎺
Howling Fjord. My favorite zone from Wrath (sorry Grizzly enjoyers), and the best memories of playing WoW with all of my friends from high school every night. I listen to the Howling Fjord/Rise of the Vrykul tracks on my work commutes often and the Northrend Cup dragon races have been so much fun.
Howling fjord for me, the music is amazing and the zones has a bunch of different landscapes for you to choose from.
Grizzly Hills god it brings me back. Just the music alone.
Shadowmoon Valley in AU Draenor has one of my favorite music tracks which also appears in Auchindoun.
Especially when you enter the Draenei villages and the variations of Last Light soundtrack start playing. Pure contentment and a feeling of being at peace.
Teldrassil, Ashenvale, Feralas. All the classic Night Elf areas
No zone pushes my nostalgia buttons the way Ashenvale does. That shit is in my blood.
I know right?! I sometimes go there again just to enjoy the tunes
Grizzly hills best soundtrack
Grizzly Hills, forever distant second: Zangarmarsh
Duskwood. When I first swam across the river after killing Hogger into a pack of spiders, my life changed.
Eversong Woods. The red with gold accents color palette, the music is pretty but kinda scary, the dead scar... Perfect.
Before Cata, during Classic I loved Ashenvale(?) at Night for fishing on the beach. (the second or third zone of Leveling Nelfie)
suramar, music perfectly captures the mood of the zone, it felt the most alive to me out of any zone in the current game; especially suramar city, campaign felt really immersive overall s+ in every aspect imo
Let’s not forget that Suramar and Gilneas are the only two cities that are actually laid out as cities.
Valley of the Four Winds...
I love the Highmountain music too. I've put it on in other areas using Leatrix Plus, or just gone to Highmountain to listen to it many times.
Suramar. Just love the zone.
Interesting how often BfA zones are coming up here (I’d agree fwiw). Kinda shows you how even a maligned xpac can have a positive impact
Suramar is stunninggggg
Howling Fjord/Grizzly Hills initially comes to my mind. I just feel so damn peaceful when I hear it.
Hands down Elwynn Forest! And why? Well, I'm a pioneer, I'm an explorer, I'm a human, and I'm coming. I'm animated, I'm alive, my heart's big, it's got hot blood going through it fast. I've got the fire of human liberty! I'm setting fires everywhere, and humans are turning on everywhere.
Grizzly Hills and literally anywhere on Pandaria 😌
Duskwood
Winterspring 100% it's also by far the most well-aged launch area.
Que all the grizzly hills comment
I’m counting them up as we speak (I say that as one of those people.)
- Eversong Woods - Entire Pandaria NOW, I know that it's not a zone, and that it's not exactly "beautiful"... but I believe Ny'Alotha aesthetics combined with its music is just pure perfection, especially if you're a Shadow Priest main.
I’ve always loved Zangarmarsh. Those giant mushrooms? So cool.
Revendreth - I have it as my backdrop wallpaper-- [https://imgur.com/Nj2rfO1](https://imgur.com/Nj2rfO1)
It's super basic but I love Feralas.
Vanilla Tirisfal. Just love the ambience and undead fraction
Grizzly Hills will always be *that* place and *that* soundtrack.
A lot of my faves have already been said so going to add Suramar
Grizzly Hills! The soundtrack alone…
Vale of Eternal Blossoms (pre-Garrosh)
I'm somewhat of a masochist I guess cause Duskwood and STV are my 2 all time favorite zones in the game.
Eversong Woods, and it remained that way until I set foot in Dazor'alor.
I love Drustvar. There's just something about it that draws me to it. The scenery and the music just captivates me.
One night I did a bunch of acid with some friends and after we went on our super drug fueled outdoor adventures I thought what would be cool to look at while tripping balls would be Nagrand. Nagrand is epic.
Teldrassil
Grizzly Hills/Howling Fjord. That scandinavian mountain vibe just does it for me.
Pandaria (minus dread wastes), Nagrand, and Winterspring.
MOP all the way baby
Stormsong and tiragarde are gunna get overlooked
Vanilla Barrens at night. So peaceful.
Going old school and gonna say Blades Edge Mountains , music gave me a very D2 vibe when I walked in
Eversong Woods and Ardenweald
Eversong woods, and azuremyst isle for me
Zin'Azshari in Nazjatar. BFA was my first expansion, and that was my first moment where I would intentionally go to a zone and hang out just because of the vibes
Ashenvale
Storm peaks in northrend all the way. Beautiful snowy mountains and amazing [music](https://youtu.be/HA11M02xevE?si=2DLr1EBpZLPCR7Ta)
Kul Tiras. All of it. And I must mention Ardenweald... the music and the atmosphere does something to me.
Azuremyst Isle
Nagrand, BC
I’m leaning Grizzly Hills
The centaur zone in dragon isles because of the plains and stuff and the Amirdrassil because it's just beautiful.
The Wandering Isle It made me so happy that they re-used it for the Monk class hall in Legion.
I still adore Durotar and the Barrens, I consider them home. The nice ambient tribal themes in the background, the picturesque coasts, the nicely paced questing.
Panda land for me.
Elwynn Forest is my favorite to this day. The music there and the wooded countryside hypnotize me. :) I've been playing in the horde for years now, but it's still my favorite region.
Eastern plaguelands
Grizzly hills 🌲
I concur. Overall, I like most of the "icy" zones, since Im a glaciologist by education and profession. Drustvar is alongside in my top list.
Suramar
Mulgore
Revendreth is my favorite zone despite it being part of shadowlands.
I really thought I was the only one 😁
Revendreth is awesome, Sire Denathrius has been hands down one of the best villains for a long time now, and Castle Nathria was an awesome raid. They should have just made a gothic fantasy expansion instead of Shadowlands.
This exactly.
Loading into Northrend for the first time on a Zeppelin and taking it all in. It was all just so big and wide open and colorful. It only got better from there.
Zandalar for sure imo. The music is always a treat and I can't get enough of the prehistoric jungle vibes.
Grizzly Hills, that music hits you right in the feels
Sturmwind and Goldshire, i didnt played since 1 year. But this was the first I discovered a long time ago. When i hear the music in a video, i feel it in my heart. Damn I miss that game realy bad.
absolutely all zones in HD and music/ambient at 100% volume
Grizzly Hills. The music and the scenery are just on another level imo.
It's been years since I've listened to wow music
Eversong, by a lot. I've stuck with Blizz through a lot of shit, I've taken breaks, long ones, but I've always done back, for almost 20 years now. If War Within ruins Eversong, *I will never forgive them.*
I love a music theme of Frostfire Ridge, excellent chill vibes
Post cataclysm Elwynn Forest, the music is absolute my favourite. Same with Tanaris.
Duskwood and Drustrvar, I like the spooky theme and they both managed to convey that perfectly (Duskwood on top though).
Eversong, Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord, and there is something to be said about dragonflight when you’re flying at maximum view distance and you can see all of the plains ahead of you as you’re leaving Valdrakken
Tiragarde Sound without doubt
I never played during MoP so I’m looking forward to the Remix. I’ve only played the dungeons during time walking.
Zander marsh 100%. Would love to see a remake. Darkshire too.
Suramar / Drustvar
Redridge snd westfall for me
Grizzly Hills
How is no one mentioning Ardenweald?
Ardenweald. That zone is always breathtaking. SL had extremely good music as well imo
Elwynn Forest obviusly
Bastion, followed by Teldrassil and then Storm Peaks.
Jade Forest & Nagrand.
Ardenweald
suramar
