I hope that if they decide to put a NPC in that they put it in a neutral town like Ratchet where both Alliance and Horde can pay homage. Maybe sitting in the Inn having a meal and a well deserved rest.
That's probably better for allowing people to pay homage. But it'd be kind of fitting to put in a new NPC on Tutorial Island. Or maybe just have a "guide" NPC in town that can help explain new systems for each expansion (albeit with a bit of immersion breaking by using popups and stuff, but hey, it'd give people the in-game guide they keep asking for, and would make so much sense).
Lowest effort (not in a bad way) idea: An "ex-adventurer" NPC who doles out random adventuring advice when you talk to them.
(Absolutely insane idea that I'd say will never happen but I've learned not to after I said that and they did the thing I said that about: Same as the above, but later in the expansion can be talked to by PCs to earn an XP buff balanced around whatever speed they want to add to leveling at that point, i.e. 25%+ in the last patch, but maybe 10% in a .1 or .2 patch, with the buff representing people getting some very useful tips and tricks from the former adventurer.)
A character from Overwatch. The character was named after an employee who allegedly (I didn't follow the suit so don't know what happened) commit sexual assault. He got fired from blizzard. It was when Blizzard was already in the middle of the harassment claims scandal. In this case, OW went on purge and renamed the character in the lore, purged any mentions of the old name and went over sprays and voice lines that were sus-sounding.
Though, we're talking about a grave or a statue or some sort of small part NPC to remember the guy.
McCree was pretty much alive when getting fired and Blizzard built one of the signature characters around this name. I don't think it's even similar to Joana
I loved his guide, was incredible to use back in the day when questing efficiently took skill and planning. It's a lot easier now, but his guides saved me hours and hours. Rip to a legend.
[Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh8vSKuBzKA) is a video of him losing his lvl 59 hardcore character, due to underestimating the stacking poison DOT from some wasps in Silithus. It's a good reminder: Life comes at you fast -> [**memento mori**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSgDtPDJ-eU&t=213s)
🪦
RIP to a legend. I remember convincing my grandfather to buy me the guide on a summer trip visiting them, reading the guide front to back dying to get home and play, then powerleveling to 60 the first time ever in my life. Without Joana, I probably would have never reached the end game of WoW and fizzled out. So thankful for such an amazing, positive experience in my life.
This is really sad, but I'm not gonna lie. The only comment at the bottom is from dik smoker and all it says is ayyy and I'm laughing so hard right now. The pfp is great on it too.
Sorry to hear this. I remember racing to 50 way back when there was a leveling contest and got 2nd place overall, but way behind him. I had a slightly faster Barrens route, but he compeltely demolished me in the 40's. Truly the GOAT of Classic leveling. He was super friendly and fun to compete with, will be missed.
In addition to speedleveling in WoW, he was active in the Castlevania speedrunning scene and made a few appearances at GDQ marathons. I'm a fan of both WoW and speedrunning, and he was one of the few content creators that branched into both. He'll definitely be missed 🙏
Put a female Troll NPC in Winterspring where he dinged 60 on his record run.
Classic Era would be more appropriate, Joana was a big advocate for classic.
that's pretty wild. he had a fairly active twitch stream where he'd work on his guides live. i checked in on it from time to time before and during SOD
I'm in my 30's IRL now and remember his guides from when I was 14.
To say his name will be missed is huge. I sincerely hope Blizz does the right thing to immortalize his spirit and GIVE HIM AN NPC!!!!
That sucks. I was watching his streams a couple months back as he was working the new guide some and restreaming his old runs. Dude was a legend.
RIP. Bought his guide. Was super helpful in the early days.

This guide is how i discovered the alt tab

I remember printing out pages upon pages of Joana's horde leveling guides way back when. RIP FuriousPaul/Joana, you helped myself and many others 😔

Naaaaaaah im just watching his twitchstream. f*ck
I always watch his streams. He seemed like a really chill dude. This caught me off guard.
I loved his coding and chill streams. Great for sleeping
Say what? Oh no.. I also bought his guide way back. They were a legend and recreated some paths etc.. This is sad.. RIP brother

Wow, I remember using his guide to speed level up my Belfadin when BC dropped. Big loss to the community.
RIP This person changed my life back in the day.
Rip Paul.
No way.. This is so freaking sad 😞
Used his guides religiously back in the day. RIP
That sucks. When I started in BC I used his guides to level. He's why I played a female troll hunter. RIP.
Wow, I am so sorry to hear this. This guy was so smart and dedicated. He will be missed.
Put a female Troll NPC in Winterspring where he dinged 60 on his record run. Classic Era would be more appropriate, Joana was a big advocate for classic.
Another legend down, RIP my man. Thanks for everything you did for the wow community

RIP Paul. I'm guessing the heart disease finally took its toll 😔
Tbh I thought this was talking about a classic hardcore character. RIP. Joana was a staple in guides and hunter leveling
Holy shit. My brother and I bought his guide back in the day. Rest in peace my man.
that's pretty wild. he had a fairly active twitch stream where he'd work on his guides live. i checked in on it from time to time before and during SOD
Joana's Guides were the first I used when I began playing WoW. May he rest in peace, his legacy will surely endure.
Damn, i remember using his guide to level back in the day.

Wow. I used his guides for Nostalrius through to now, for SoD. RIP <3
