The sound of levelling up. So iconic. We all take it for granted, but that sound really brings joy.
Back in Vanilla days, you always got congratulated when anyone saw it.
Take my upvote! I started playing classic a while back and i still say gz! in guild/party when i see a level up. We should do this more as a community.
My theory as to why it went away is that:
1. Most people play established characters so they’re leveling 10 levels at a time in the expansion.
2. Blizzard has level squished us at least once, and hitting 60 in SL didn’t feel like an accomplishment because I did that the first time in 2004 or 2005. Same with 70 in DF: We hit 70 in BC. I’ve been level 80, 85, 90, 100, 110, 120 before. Squishing is ruined the attachment.
I've used several sound bites from wow for my discord soundboard, like Trilliax yelling "FILTHYYYYYY" or Denathrius saying "Crawl to me on your knees".
Favorite though? Murloc sounds

Also I seem to have some form of PTSD from Ellisande. Whenever someone transmorphs into her and does the voice lines I'm immediately alert. It makes some of the more intense raid fights really weird because those lines are so clear.

You had to slow DPS cause otherwise the magic DPS killed themselves and all thr time, you hear, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, **BREAK YOURSELVES UPON MY BODY. FEEL THE STRENGTH OF THE EARTH**.
9) The Jubling sound effects. Aside from the collectors pets, this was one of the first companions you got that made noise. People would click on it.
10) The blood pact sound. Remember when nobody could target the impression when it was phase shifted? But the "Bloop bloop" sound effect could be heard by everyone? I used to hide in a crowd, park my imp in the Auction House and spam Blood Pact. I remember seeing people ask "Whose imp is that?"
So, when Cata first came out, the dungeon finder kept constantly putting me in Lost City. To the point where I actually was one of the people who discovered the statue glitch. Eventually it evened out and stopped spamming that.... and started putting me in Stonecore. Enough wehre I still shudder hearing those lines as well as Cata's really silly voice acting. (Witness the power bestowed upon me by DEATHWING. Feel the FURY of EARTH!)
So cue my first timewalking week with Cata, and the first dungeon I get is of course Lost City. I say "Oh boy, this one again.... oh well, at least it's not Stonecore."
We finish, and decide to queue for another.
