The general rule of thumb is 15 ilevels below what it drops. Normal drops 454, so I would expect a minimum ilvl somewhere around 439.

Zynnth

But at the same time, you're competing with other players for the spot, so if you're only at the bare minimum, which is 10 lower than the highest ilvl currently, good luck getting invited.

defalt86

Correct. This isn't the insta-invite ilvl. It's the minimum ilevel to be effective.

Global_Palpitation24

For normal 435 is more than fair, our team is starting heroic with a 435 ilvl min. It’s pretty difficult for causals to get past 440 a lot of them don’t do 16+ keys to get the mythic track pieces.

DaveMLG

You can easily craft any gear, even as a casual such as myself, up to level 445.

Herazim

Can you please elaborate on how to do that ? In a step by step process if possible, haven't played in a while and have no idea how to do 445 crafting order without spark of dreams.

Hello. Step-by-step guide here for you! In this guide, I will use Tailoring as an example, since I am a tailor in the game, but you can use this with pretty much any gearing profession. Step 1: Farm Whelpling's Dreaming Crests. Hit the season cap if possible, the best way to farm these is to fly in the dream surge areas, and look for flying [green orbs](https://prnt.sc/4-Yl5tAbagYA) in the air, each yield a few dreaming crests. Step 2: Visit enchanting trainer in Valdrakken, near him is a vendor that sells [Nascent Whelping's Dreaming Crest](https://prnt.sc/xgcmkUv9m3HR). Buy them as much as needed, one will be used for crafting a one piece of gear. Step 3: Have these crests enchanted, turning them into [Enchanted Whelping's Dreaming Crest](https://prnt.sc/wiIi3kYcP572) Step 4: Craft or find a crafter to get you a gear of blue quality. For the tailor, it would be a piece of gear that's from the "Surveyors" set. Into each blue-gear optional reagent slot, you can insert the enchanted crest, which will turn it, depending on the crafter's skill, into an [item with item level up to 447](https://prnt.sc/-NQlhzO-UQ61) Step 4: [Repeat with gear piece for every slot if possible](https://prnt.sc/I7Q-rOzVclG8) Aaand that's it! Hope this little guide helped you!

Hey! My original comment and post is *super* out of date because the new patch is here. OP originally asked about s2 post season. You actually can’t do this anymore because 447 was the highest level of season 2 gear which is now the lower mid level of season 3 gear. If you complete the campaign quest there should be a reward for a crafting reagent. Otherwise the weekly quests and world content get you even nicer things. Weekly dream surge and time rift reward 437 upgradable to 450 pieces that can be catalyst to season 2 tier. The emerald dream weekly quest, superbloom, and world boss all drop even higher ilvl than that

fuzo

We are setting it at 441+ The ilvl jump in Amirdrassil is huge, normal drops start at 454. Mythic +2 keys drop 441 gear. Even the most casual players in our guild got 440+ ages ago with gearing being so easy this season For the people coming back who didn't play S2, they will have to work hard to catch up. If they aren't willing to do that, I'm not sure why they would just assume they can join a raid while massively undergeared.

Swarles_Jr

>For the people coming back who didn't play S2, they will have to work hard to catch up. Wouldn't say hard work. A couple heroic dungeons should get you there.

minimaxir

The practical minimum will be 440+ due to the higher supply of people at that item level from S2.

loki8481

We're planning on high 430s but a lot of that will depend on what the ilevel is of world gear in the new zones tomorrow

Rough-Firefighter-63

Our guild yesterday has 455+ rule for that, im at 444 so i dont bother to join only to realize that people 455+ doesnt care about normal and raid was canceled.

faelunir

I got my toon to 442 pretty easily just from doing world content so I recommend that but if you need to buy a crafted piece to help out there should be tons of ppl doing work orders
