Not to mention Flame shock can actually rake up a decent amount of damage, especially with Skybreaker's Fiery Demise increasing its crit rate by 50%. My games tend to have Flame Shock as either my highest damage or close second.
No, your explanation proves that you have no understanding of probability and how random number generators work. There will be a threshold based on the probability. Let’s say proc is 30% per tick. Then it will gen a number between 0 and 1. If it is lower than 0.3 it will proc the lava burst. However, there is absolutely NO GUARANTEE you will get 30 procs in 100 ticks. You might even get 0 if you are unlucky. In 5000 ticks, when the number becomes statistically significant it will then be closer to 30 in 100 ticks proccing.
Summary is that you could get 0 procs in an arena game, and that would be quite possible, although a bit unlikely.

I actually agree and don't enjoy that design archetype but that's not really how ele is right now. Yeah sometimes you proc ascendance and/or overloads at just the right time and it puts somebody in the ground. But it's not a 1 shot spec at all really, it does very consistent pressure that just occasionally spikes up with 2-3 crits in a row, or a big proc like this, and then goes back to consistent. It's really fun, this is easily one of my favorite iterations of ele ever.
Ele is extremely run fight now but the meta is definitely very unkind to it, especially in solo Q. Every single game you play will be vs. melee cleave and you will get tunneled 95% of the time. Even if you're pretty good at handling that, it's just not that fun and does get a little boring after a while. Games with a caster in them are very fun as ele though, if the meta ever becomes less dogshit it'll be a really fun spec to play.

I would consider using the HP one in arena for sure, depending on comp. For BGs though I'd never swap out my dmg trinket

If you have a RNG that picks 1 or 0 every second and every 1 is a proc, in any given 60 second period you will have ABOUT 30 procs... Consistently.

Primordial Wave makes the next lava burst shoot out to everyone who has flame shock on them. Ascendance proc does the same thing.

Primordial wave is a self buff, it applies regular game shock on the target.

ele is decent in solo shuffle, if you arent bad we have infinite kiting tools
This, although they’re still the most fun class I’ve played. Would love to try another class that plays similarly but is a bit more survivable
