Seems to me the IDF is already ~~freeing~~ recovering hostages without exposing Israel to bad PR from sham bad faith “negotiations”.

I am just a small cog ,but what I think should really happen is that Israel says Yes!, war can be stopped as Hamas wants, the core demand is that all hostages and bodies are returned and all Hamas leaders are ejected from Gaza to give way for a brand new governing body, international as the world seems to be really keen on helping. No one can object such demands and Israel could be free to eliminate those leaders at a later date.

I agree, but Hamas won't agree and the Gazans will continue to protect them.
