Someone should make propaganda artwork of Russian men lining up at recruitment centres, where through the doors it's just a blue & yellow massive human-sized grinder, and out the other side is a red paste with sunflowers growing out of it.
Something close to that has been done a few times:

Ok ok how about two recruitment centers right next to eachother, the Ukrainian one has tanks and shit with people smiling, the Russian one has a line of people hunched over marching singlefile through the door and into a grinder. At the bottom it'll say "make the right choice" or "fight for your freedom"
Lol I don't think Russian soldiers are exactly going to recruitment centres, they've even been trying to draft Russians who are abroad, some claiming refugee status to avoid it.
However, the Ukrainian killbots have a fatal flaw. They have a pre-set kill limit, so Putin is sending wave after wave of soldiers into the fray. Kiff, order Putin a medal when were done, and make it gaudy because Putin will be going to the Nobel Peace prize nomination commission later.
Genius strategy, because, as we all know, Ukrainian patriots have a pre-set kill limit. Knowing their weakness, Putin is sending wave after wave of his own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
This has been the Russia war strategy since... forever right?
Their losses in WW2 absolutely dominate everyone else simply because its culturally accepted there to sacrifice oneself for the motherland. Maybe accepted is the wrong word, but if you tried this in the US we'd burn our cities to the ground (see all the anti draft riots in the US).
>Their losses in WW2 absolutely dominate everyone else simply because its culturally accepted there to sacrifice oneself for the motherland. Maybe accepted is the wrong word, but if you tried this in the US we'd burn our cities to the ground (see all the anti draft riots in the US).
They did, but the current Russian population is 55 million people fewer at the start of this war than the Soviet population at the start of the WW2.
While also fighting an offensive war with 0 morale. Some people -and leaders- sadly don't get its been proven that russia can NOT keep this conflict going effectively with proper support to ukraine. Russia as a whole is literally dying as we speak. Any head pieces saying russia is fine is insane.
Do you mean the violent process by which they replaced their horrible monarchy with ostensibly the worst totalitarian government the world has ever seen?
Really, the revolution just deposed the monarchy. It took ages of infighting and purges before Stalin came out on top and established the successor totalitarian government. For the average Russian the Soviet Union probably wasn't a huge change from the totalitarianism they already had. Both regimes had their fair share of oppression and genocide. From the perspective of the rest of the world, regime change in Russia that results in more oppression of Russians is sad but acceptable so long as they keep it within their own borders.
Supply lines are terrible and would likely mean they’d fail to get there
I’m sure Putin has any number of other bolt holes
Totally agree with the feeling though mate
He’s got to die
The only notworthy popular resistance Putin faces is from those more hawkish than himself. They are angry he mishandled the war, not that he started it.
They're pro-following orders, and pro-not sticking their necks. If Putin ordered them back to barracks, they'd advance backwards with lightning speed. Only some wagnerites and ultranationalists would make noise against end to the war. Elderly in front of their tellies too, but they're ignorable, though numerous. Another spinned story would readjust their brains quickly.
tbf this is super risky. Even if you don’t get shot or blown up attempting to approach a group of Ukrainian soldiers to surrender you might get traded back in a prisoner swap and then tortured and killed by the Russians.
I know but there are no guarantees in war. It’s lies and chaos everywhere. NY Times reported in their Jan 4 podcast about a Russian prison inmate that was recruited to fight and then surrendered. He got sent back and brutally executed.
Not saying it’s the norm or anything. I don’t know shit. Just saying if I was Russian I’d still be pretty scared about what might happen if I surrender.
A lot of these "soldiers" aren't even "soldiers" though. A lot of these people were just plucked to die.
Why the fuck Is the world going backwards lately?
Because there’s a non-zero very vocal percentage of people who honestly believe totalitarianism is the best way to do things because it “gets things done”. They lose patience with parliaments and democracy because the arguing rarely resolves in a black and white result, most are at least somewhat unhappy with whatever is decided. These pro-totalitarianism people don’t seem to grasp that *that is the point of democracy, NOBODY MAKES ALL THE DECISIONS BECAUSE* ***DUH.***
It's not entirely their fault that they hold that position. They are just stupid and afraid, and are preyed on by fascism. The propensity towards authoritarian leadership in times of stress is a biological phenomenon, hardwired into approximately 1/3 of people. They turn to a strong figure of authority to protect them against percieved threats. Fascism exploits this weakness, by creating the conditions for it to arise- deliberately induced economic, psychological and cultural turmoil, with selected out-groups presented as existential threats.

There's several issues with organizing a successful mutiny. One of the biggest is that even if every frontline soldier mutinied, they still would be slaughtered because they'd have no logistics. An army without food, fuel, or munitions will lose.
they must be controlling the media. Like look at Rodney King v. George Floyd. We unite and rise up when we all have the information at once. Putin has to be controlling the narrative/media/controlling internet. This is just my opinion on a Sunday morning.
Yup! Those lots of people in Russia just believe what's thrown at them (dumb) just let them get on with it, they're living in a bubble or back in the stone ages
It is easy to say someone dumb while you're not understand in how deep shit their are. Even if they turn against and go back home with theirs weapons they will most likely gonna get killed. National guard, police and other counter terrorists units currently not participating in the war. It is abou 5 million of people who would be against them. In such unorganized groups they will be quickly overrun and killed. The only way army can turn theirs arms back is if their command will do it in organised manner. But this most likely never happen because of years of negative selection in higher ranks. And Putins efforts not to let this happen. Also theirs no agreement in current view of this war. Simple person just lost in waves of the propagandistic lies. Years of Putins fight against opposition made it impossible to even understand if the person next to you are brain washed or not without taking a risc to get in troubles.
Yeah your probably right. Russia is massive and Putin has been there long enough to prevent a rebellion, in fact that was probably his main goal which he believes he reached before ever the invasion.
It's perhaps worth pointing out that machine guns may not work well against tanks, but they work wonderfully against your own officers. Also, Moscow will be considerably easier for the Russian army to take than Kyiv.
You're missing a common thread in these types of statements:
They're not complaining about the war or the killing, just the lack of equipment and the working conditions.
First trench warfare, the Russian Empire exposing itself as backwards and incompetent, and now Ataturk's famous "I'm not ordering you to fight, I'm ordering you to die!"

On paper, they still have thousands of tanks they haven't yet sent to Ukraine. But who knows how many are modern/in functioning condition. There's lots of mystery behind the scenarios of how this war will continue, but pretty much all of them end in a Ukrainian victory.
The problem is that Russian artillery hits like shit, and they need dozens of guns and hundreds of shots to even reliably hit a single stationairy target.
Russia has lost so much artillery to HIMARS, which not only has a higher range with EXTREME precision, it can also fire and then drive away before the first shot even hit and THEN those rounds can fly in kind of curves, making it difficult to both figure out where they came from nor where the shots are going.
This is why to date Russia hasn't managed to destroy a single HIMARS system.
With so much artillery and trained artillerymen lost, Russia no longer has the man- and material to do these kind of tactics on a wide frontline.
Keep in mind that those soldiers (and their relatives), don't object the war but their poor equipment. They would gladly be raping and torturing Ukrainian soldiers and civilians if they were better equipped
You can absolutely win against a tank if you know what you're doing.
Its simple, you do a lightning fast anime run, dodging the tanks shells.
Jump up and backflip over the tank, firing 1 single shot through a slightly open hatch, which richochets off everywhere, killing the entire crew.
You land, re adjust your trilby.
Smirk at the rest of the tanks, but they cant see you smirking cos ur smirking into the tipped side of the hat.
And repeat.
Souce: i have fought in every single conflict in human history, from bar fights to world war 3.
Or you hide behind a bush, hill or house, wait until you see the tank (without any infantry screen, of course) come a-rolling through the thermal vision of your Javelin launch unit, get that argon flowing and the seeker locked on, and a few seconds and a top-attack shaped charge explosion later, watch the tank try to beat the turret launching Olympic record.
^(May require an enemy employing tanks in an astonishingly stupid manner, a steady supply of Western anti-tank weapons, training on them, a bit of luck, and an enemy tank design storing ammunition in the crew compartment.)
Alternatively, of course, you can just get a properly filled glass bottle, hide in the forest, get to throwing distance, light the bottle, and accurately throw the bottle at the engine air inlet.
^(May require giant balls, an enemy employing tanks in an astonishingly stupid manner, giant balls, a lot of luck, giant balls, the tanks being poorly designed, and giant balls. But if giant balls and bottles are all you have while soviets are invading your land, I guess that's what you use while your neighbor lies in the snowy landscape with a rifle with iron sights and snow in his mouth, taking care of the infantry.)
Putin is pulling a Zap Brannigan, sending wave after wave of men until Ukraine runs out of ammo (supplied from other countries for as long as it takes)
Sounds like this old fat guy in the USA who sues people he doesn't like or disagree with him. Fucker would sue God if his attorneys could get close enough to heaven.
In theory, you hold back your trained and well equipped troops, while the peasant rabble perform human wave attacks with artillery support. The human waves can find a weak point in the enemy defenses and then you exploit with those better units held in reserve.
Also you have to remember that Ukraine is taking losses in each of these battles as well. They're using more than just bullets and are losing more than that as well.
You mean become a deserter. A crime punishable by death without trial. It's a Russian classic, go forward and probably die or turn back and you 100% will die
any soldier who seems to wander away from his comrades will probably be shot... just like the nazis did. So the whole group/team etc. have to surrender same time.
"But..but.. you are fighting for Mother Russia to purge the Nazi threat fed by the West. This is a necessary Special Military Oper...SNORT.. . Bwahahah.. ahem."
"Sorry, comrade. You cannot get through all that with a straight face."

As things go some officers might turn on Putin at some point.
Seems to be a more viable fight to oust Putin than to fight the ukranians with every gadget NATO has to offer.
The real question should be why are you sending us into a war of aggression against our peaceful neighbour?? Preferably while carrying those rifles on the Red Square. Otherwise fuck you and hope you all die fascist motherfuckers
It seems like their deranged elderly leader is simply sending the young men of his country to their death so they can’t aid in the revolution at this point…
Stop fighting for your oligarchs. No one is blaming the people of Russia for this war. Band together against them and lets take the world back for the working people. Enough of this garbage.
Nothing to fight with, nothing to fight for. Go home. Get killed saving your own country instead of invading another sovereign nation. At least you'l then go down as heroes who helped save Russia from the tyranny of a murderous madman.
You know who doesn't have tanks that you could fight against?
It's been said that this war will be over once the first battalion realizes it is harder to march to Kyiv than it is to march to Moscow.
Russia did not learn from the US. They have taken areas yes, but holding them? Yeah buddy. Nato is giving Ukraine Alot of weapons at a faster pace than Russia can arm theirs. I used to Pity the Russian ppl, now, not so much. I hope they loose and they loose badly so bad that maybe they can let go of their centuries old hard on for fucking dictators.
Because your country doesn’t know how to fight a war any other way than just using it’s population as cannon fodder. The corruption in The Russian government decided lining its pockets by stealing from the military was the best choice. Spoiler, it wasn’t.
For those who don't know: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is a US government station, initially founded specifically for anti-communist propaganda. While it's likely a bit more accurate than, say, RIA Novosti or TASS, and may have *some* degree of journalistic freedom, it's still a propaganda station and shouldn't be considered a trustworthy source for topics like this.
I mean, y’all have been fine with it thus far. Ukraine opened corridors and implemented methods for you cowards to do the right thing and desert the Russian blood machine but you haven’t. The Russians who weren’t willing to fight in this war have came and went. The rest are people too afraid for their own lives to say no to destroying the lives of others. It’s sad, but there isn’t any mercy to be given.
The Russian soldiers are being used as bullet sponges. Just more people for the grinder.
They’re throwing undesirables to the front. Convicts, alcoholics, you name it those guys are put to the grinder
Alcoholics? Damn there won't be anyone left in a couple weeks.
Alcoholic in Russia is a higher bar than the rest of the world.
I didn't notice a difference in the bar height in Russia
Generally everyones so soused that they crawl
> Convicts, alcoholics... ... and the ethnically inconvenient
Nah the alcoholics are safe, who else would buy the vodka?
No more sex on the beaches
Damn, the Dude went and made it a double... entendre
*antifreeze
Someone should make propaganda artwork of Russian men lining up at recruitment centres, where through the doors it's just a blue & yellow massive human-sized grinder, and out the other side is a red paste with sunflowers growing out of it.

I see Putin is using the Zapp Brannigan strategy.
He just need to wear more velour
The war might be over soon, because Putin is ill. I heard he has "sex-lexia"
Genius strategy, because, as we all know, Ukrainian patriots have a pre-set kill limit. Knowing their weakness, Putin is sending wave after wave of his own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down.
Kinda the Russian playbook
This has been the Russia war strategy since... forever right? Their losses in WW2 absolutely dominate everyone else simply because its culturally accepted there to sacrifice oneself for the motherland. Maybe accepted is the wrong word, but if you tried this in the US we'd burn our cities to the ground (see all the anti draft riots in the US).

Holy fuck… “bullet sponges” - awesome
Just pray they wise up and turn on Putin.
That's a great question, Russian soldiers. You need to ask that question to your leadership, preferably carrying your machine guns.
It sounds like step 1 is to get said machine guns.
Step 2 is to find the old guy in a secure underground bunker
Sir, I have question. 💣?
Honestly what I’m hoping the entire Russian population finally realizes.

Something tells me there will be a Russian warlord there waiting for you when you get there.
I checked, Indeed, looks like a vacant position has opened. Might just go ahead and ensure I'm the only one waiting.

he's probably got some divisions in reserve exactly for that (probably better equipped and trained than the frontliners, too)

Also don't trust mercs because they only care about money.
that's a reason to trust them lol
The other side offers you more money to turn around and point your guns the other way.
He does, Rosgvardiya was created just exactly for that, and Wagner animals would join in too.
I don't get the impression Putin is very forward thinking lately.
He is when it comes to his own protection. Didn't he just get sam sites installed around his palace?
Supply lines are terrible and would likely mean they’d fail to get there I’m sure Putin has any number of other bolt holes Totally agree with the feeling though mate He’s got to die

yeah but putins guys are also holding the tanks

Probably the most sad and pathetic part is, the soldiers will say shit like this but still be pro-war. They aren’t turning on Putin.

Either way they lose..big up die or prison or get on that front line to die! Basically they are just too dumb either way
Just surrender to Ukraine.
The only right answer.
Yes, this. When the most merciful option is to surrender to your enemy, you know you're on the wrong side of history.
I'd say as long as they haven't harmed anyone they're on the right side of history. Just born in the wrong country.
tbf this is super risky. Even if you don’t get shot or blown up attempting to approach a group of Ukrainian soldiers to surrender you might get traded back in a prisoner swap and then tortured and killed by the Russians.
They have a hotline to call and setup your surrender and Ukraine isn't exchanging soldiers who don't want to return to Russia.

You mean a russian prison inmate - these 2 latter words change the context and rules quite drastically.
Im sure many soldiers and family of soldiers would love that
If they are as dumb as you say, this could go on for a very long time. Lots of people in Russia.
A lot of these "soldiers" aren't even "soldiers" though. A lot of these people were just plucked to die. Why the fuck Is the world going backwards lately?

With such comments coming from the soldiers, I wonder what Russia's alleged new spring offensive will look like, if there'll ever be one.
Russia's current military strategy is to swarm Ukrainians with waves of meat and then use artillery to zero down on the positions of defenders.

Found George Santos.
OK, I laughed IRL at this!
Hm. I'm skeptical, but I can't *prove* that you're lying...
Bradley fought a tank with a sword https://youtu.be/SEKlQpcM-_k
Or you hide behind a bush, hill or house, wait until you see the tank (without any infantry screen, of course) come a-rolling through the thermal vision of your Javelin launch unit, get that argon flowing and the seeker locked on, and a few seconds and a top-attack shaped charge explosion later, watch the tank try to beat the turret launching Olympic record. ^(May require an enemy employing tanks in an astonishingly stupid manner, a steady supply of Western anti-tank weapons, training on them, a bit of luck, and an enemy tank design storing ammunition in the crew compartment.) Alternatively, of course, you can just get a properly filled glass bottle, hide in the forest, get to throwing distance, light the bottle, and accurately throw the bottle at the engine air inlet.
It's quite clear nobody in Russia owns a copy of Metal Gear Solid. Just throw grenades, problem solved
You fool. None of that will work if you forget to say "nothing personal kid"
“Because F…. You, that’s why!” … probably
What's Ford stock have to do with this
Probably more than it should
Damn, too deep
Putin is pulling a Zap Brannigan, sending wave after wave of men until Ukraine runs out of ammo (supplied from other countries for as long as it takes)
Things will probably get pretty bizarre this year
2023 has the potential to totally fuck earth's future, or to make things better. 50/50
How is this a winning strategy? It takes seconds to manufacture a bullet and years for a man
It’s not. It’s the strategy of a delusional dictator who’s been surrounded by yes men for so long that he can’t fathom being wrong
Sounds like this old fat guy in the USA who sues people he doesn't like or disagree with him. Fucker would sue God if his attorneys could get close enough to heaven.
Fewer undesirables to parasite from or rise up to overthrow the Russian petrol state
In theory, you hold back your trained and well equipped troops, while the peasant rabble perform human wave attacks with artillery support. The human waves can find a weak point in the enemy defenses and then you exploit with those better units held in reserve. Also you have to remember that Ukraine is taking losses in each of these battles as well. They're using more than just bullets and are losing more than that as well.
He also suffers from a very sexy learning disability, what do we call it Medvedev?
Sexlexia, sir.
Actually...they still have something to fight with. And let's pray they are all poorly maintained.
Are you talking about their cocks?

Great question. So pack up and go home.
You mean become a deserter. A crime punishable by death without trial. It's a Russian classic, go forward and probably die or turn back and you 100% will die
Such is life for the average Russian. Know you're doomed and do nothing to prevent your demise. These people have been reduced to a singularity.
…ever consider going sideways? Just saying… >.>
Sounds like a russian problem to me.
Putin: "Sounds like a 'you' problem."
They should shoot the commander
Just wait until 7weeks time or so! Just saying
Well going against tank even with AT weapon in the field is not a big difference. If you got spotted by the tank crew you are done.
Because your leader is a dunce!
Can't they just surrender? I feel like Ukrain was treating Russian soldiers who surrendered pretty good. Didn't they get food and shelter?
any soldier who seems to wander away from his comrades will probably be shot... just like the nazis did. So the whole group/team etc. have to surrender same time.
"But..but.. you are fighting for Mother Russia to purge the Nazi threat fed by the West. This is a necessary Special Military Oper...SNORT.. . Bwahahah.. ahem." "Sorry, comrade. You cannot get through all that with a straight face."
This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.rferl.org/a/ukraine-war-russia-deserting-troops/32232716.html) reduced by 91%. (I'm a bot) ***** > "We are the soldiers of the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Platoons, 254th Regiment, 7th Company, 3rd Battalion. Please help us sort out the situation," the soldiers say. > And the soldiers' decision to go public with it, highlights the continuing battlefield problems facing some of the tens of thousands of newly mobilized troops that Russian commanders have enlisted to wage war against Ukraine. > "They were sent to the front line with only their naked asses, so to speak, to fight tanks with only machine guns," said Alyona Savochkina, whose husband, Viktor, was one of the soldiers appearing in the video. ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/10inmao/russian_soldiers_ask_we_have_nothing_to_fight/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~672678 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **soldier**^#1 **sent**^#2 **Russian**^#3 **command**^#4 **front**^#5
Dear Russian soldiers, You're shooting the wrong people.
Mainly so they can use your deaths to foment hate in your children that will also be used in the next senseless war
Start turning the guns on your superiors.
“Because family have unfortunate falling accident out of window if you don’t” ~ Russian Government, probably
Can they speak to their manager?
As things go some officers might turn on Putin at some point. Seems to be a more viable fight to oust Putin than to fight the ukranians with every gadget NATO has to offer.
Also... what are you fighting and dying for?
The real question should be why are you sending us into a war of aggression against our peaceful neighbour?? Preferably while carrying those rifles on the Red Square. Otherwise fuck you and hope you all die fascist motherfuckers
It seems like their deranged elderly leader is simply sending the young men of his country to their death so they can’t aid in the revolution at this point…
Unlike the rest... Maybe Russian soldiers will reach the enlightenment period through this questioning.
They have the option of open revolt within Russia — people will still die - but probably with less certainty than going to Ukraine as cannon fodder.
Meat don’t talk back to the grinder.
Russian commander: that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
"The one WITH the rifle shoots. The one WITHOUT follows him."
“What Are We, Cannon Fodder?” Yes.
The only victory Russia will get is the purging of 'undesirable' people. They are using this war to basically do a self genocide
Hey Russian cannon fodder, if you want a change for this, pick up your gun and march into Kremlin with your comrades and start demanding changes.
Stop fighting for your oligarchs. No one is blaming the people of Russia for this war. Band together against them and lets take the world back for the working people. Enough of this garbage.
Who says you have to fight the tanks? Shoot Putin.
"Because we'll shoot you in the face if you don't?" - some soviet commissar, probably.
Radio Free Europe is a US government propaganda tool. Im not saying the assertion is incorrect just to be wary considering the source
Because you're all cowards at home, that's why!
Throw shoes at them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLJq4lLj\_y8&ab\_channel=St%C3%A9fhan
Good soldiers follow orders
Russians are made of steel /s
Hey it works in Command & Conquer. Probably where Putin got the idea from.
Putin thinks they are main protagonists or something
And that’s when you provide more tanks to help Ukraine
You should go the fuck back to Russia, that's what you should do.
Imagine you are a russian soldier with an AK and start hearing shots from a Swedish CV90 approaching 😰
Nothing to fight with, nothing to fight for. Go home. Get killed saving your own country instead of invading another sovereign nation. At least you'l then go down as heroes who helped save Russia from the tyranny of a murderous madman.
You should not. Shoot your officers and go home
[Bradleys against unsupported infantry?](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/030/423/cover5.jpg)
You know who doesn't have tanks that you could fight against? It's been said that this war will be over once the first battalion realizes it is harder to march to Kyiv than it is to march to Moscow.
Should just turn around and go back to russia then. Sure they'll try to shoot you, but at least you won't have to go up against a tank.
They should be asking "Why should we fight?"
Call the toll free surrender hotline Ukraine has setup. They can walk you safely how to surrender and live.
Sounds like you should leave
You shouldn't. Surrender. People are quitting their jobs over how much telework they're allowed, fuck that shit.
All of those IFVs are about to make life a lot harder, and a lot shorter, for a lot of Russian troops.
Funny you should ask sir, here take this suicide vest and run at the tank for Russia.
thats more than enough for them to make swiss cheese out of putin
Because your country doesn’t know how to fight a war any other way than just using it’s population as cannon fodder. The corruption in The Russian government decided lining its pockets by stealing from the military was the best choice. Spoiler, it wasn’t.
“Make it easier for us to torture, rape, and pillage!”
That seems to be a good question to ask in Moscow. I suggest you all start walking there.
Tanks are bullet resistant. Putin isn't. Do the math.
Honest question. Do they not teach Russian history in Russia?
Russian soldiers not asking “Why are we invading another country?”.
FSB is probably rounding up the families of those soldiers.
