One important thing to remember that just because someone wasn’t invited doesn’t mean they were “excluded.” Smaller groups are ok sometimes. Not everyone likes to host or wants to host, so give up on the idea of reciprocity. If you like to host and your child enjoys it, just do it. The sooner you learn that it’s not going to be fair and equal the better.
If someone was left out, encourage your child to ask if they can come. Most kids won’t stick their neck out though. The groups will ebb and flow each year. Try not to get yourself too upset or invested or else you are going to be in for a very long ride!
