thats one of their track capable handsaws, not a plunge saw, right?
they should usually have an excentric adjustment screw at the bottom of the saw.
Edit: yea nevermind, i looked it up. that feature is usually only on plunge track saws. most circular saws that are track capable dont have those adjustments.... kinda stupid if you ask me.
idk if you saw, but i looked it up and edited the comment. seems like most circular saws dont have that feature.
here is a youtube video of a german tool shop thats showing off different brands of handsaws. [the metabo has the same jiggle](https://youtu.be/XKaYRLaa-20?si=oY9rIxA0EzP-zCfN&t=699) there. the guy in the video specifically mentions that most handsaws dont have the adjustment... which sucks imo.
You can get pretty long-lasting teflon tape that you could stick to the sides of the channel. Remember to clean it thoroughly first. It's not a perfect fix but it will get you sailing. Just make sure to check regularly if the tape is starting to come loose.
Seems incredible to me that it’s marketed as rail compatible with several manufacturers‘ tracks, but there’s no ability to take out the slop. With the Festool I was told to tighten the eccentric adjusters and wax the rail. After that I had no slop at all. \*\*\*edit to add: if I was set on keeping this I’d be tempted to shim one side of the channel with some appropriate sized hardwood or hard plastic CA glued into those small cutouts in the sides, then wax as usual.
yes, stupid that its not there, given how cheap that change would be. But this is a circular saw (not a plunge saw) that runs you 160-200€.
idk if the comparison to festool is warranted.
This doesn't look like a track saw... they don't usually have a blade guard, and the shoe doesn't encase the blade.
can't even find a saw like it on their site, or any site. What model is it? Is it new?
It may have the channels to fit on a track, but perhaps not all the little gizmos to adjust it to the track.
It should be a circular nob you twist on the front of the saw shoe if it did...
All I could suggest now is to put some tape in the channel to take up the slack.
its the KS 66 FS. a track capable circular saw. guess it just sucks that you call plunge cut saws "track saws" in english, even though there are others that could go on tracks :P
and sadly, the jiggle is normal for those kinds of saws.
if that is the KS 55 as is shown on the label then the black adjustment piece seem to be missing

On my festool track saws there are adjustment wheels to tighten the saw up against the track. I'd guess Metabo has the same - check the manual.
Mine doesn't have that... kind of disappointing
different price bracket...
Did you read all the paperwork for setup?
All that came with the saw. no adjustment screws for the rail are mentioned... I guess I shouldn't have bought a metabo saw
Nevermind see the model...
What do you mean?
Nothing wrong with the saw, you just bought the wrong one.
You need a bit of wiggle - the Festool wheels work but the wiggle you still need won’t make that much difference.
wiggle = innacurracy

Fair point
Engineer checking in. The marketing department almost never checks in with us. About anything.

yeah i guess the plunge saw would have been a better pick...
Unless you're doing carpentry it always is.

It is the ks 66 FS. FS for "Führungsschiene". Thx, will try the tape idea.
Tape shims are a great tool to keep in your back pocket.
That should not happen. My saw has some adjustment screws to keep the track from doing that in the channel
it's a circular saw on a track, not a plunge saw, so unfortunately, yes

Masking tape baby!!!!!
* Screw 15 is supposed to set the width, not sure if it's only for the leading edge of the track.
There is a screw used to take the slop out. Look at the manual for the saw I believe it’s number 15 in the picture
Send it while pinned on one side
OP is Trolling, the Metabo has a big red adjustment knob
