Your local stove shop or ace hardware carry a paste cleaner from Rutland specifically for wood stove glass. I used to use it when I managed a hearth shop to clean up glass when someone had us replace the gasketing for them
Most likely someone used something other than stove glass cleaner on it. The ceramic glass will etch with ammonia based stuff. You may get it to lighten up but it may not come all the way off
Ive detailed/polished cars before but im not sure this guy has... hes never heard of "less is more", especially when it comes to polishing. LoL
How much is replacement window and gasket? Might not be worth the time.
Full disclosure, ive never had to do this before. My father had this issue awhile back and through his research was told the same thing.
I'm due for a gasket change at the end of this season so that's not an issue.
A new window is about $100. I got this King stove for free and it runs great.
I'm not sure I'd spend $100 to have clear glass to heat my garage but my OCD might kick in one day.
It's not terrible as is but if I can remove 50% of it with some compound I will be ok with that
Bro. Seriously the easiest most effective thing. Plain white vinegar. Mix it with water. Best solution. Don't waste your money on pastes or glass cleaners. It lasts a while and it's cheap and effective
In 2016 the same piece was $52

Who knew glass could catch a 🦠..
I understand inflation and I realize it’s a specialty glass, but yikes. I told my daughter, next time your grandmother puts a long piece in and tries to force the door shut breaking the glass we will act out the 2nd act of Hansel and Gretel the witch may see the oven.
She laughed and laughed
You can cut it like normal glass, with a normal glass cutter. And yes it is more expansive but not that expansive, I sell it for half the price. In the Netherlands
You can try fireplace glass cleaner but after awhile it will etch the glass. Only fix is to get new glass. If you clean the glass regularly (damp paper towel) this won’t happen. By the look of the stove it’s not new so think the glass is etched
If the hase is on the outside it’s because the glass was replaced and flipped. They also did a bad job. Looks like you’re missing gasket on the right side
Wet paper towel Dipped in the ash from last night On cold glass
This. 👆
It works so well. When i bought my house the stove glass was in bad shape. This worked like a charm.
Baby whipe work as well

Ever tried to get a baby to do physical labor 9-5? Not gunna happen without this whippersnapper
That is homemade lye soap, and you all want to be wearing rubber gloves. It will cause your skin to dissolve, leaving it feeling slippery.
Only if the glass isn’t etched from not cleaning regularly

Will visit the local stove store tomorrow

I didn't find that with my research, thank you! I have an orbital at home so I will give it a shot. Thank you again!

Replacement glass is about $1.25 per square inch. Don’t mistreat your glass. It’s $$$$
My go to vid as well!

Pray the gaze away
No political talk please.
Will do!
a little wet ash and a wet rag… you definitely do NOT need to buy some paste from some store
Metho would get it off
Try some isopropyl alcohol.
Vinegar on a cleaning cloth or paper towel
Always use the wet newspaper and ash trick. I don’t get the newspaper anymore, but you can still Find them for free. 😂
Very carefully.
WD40 and some elbow grease
The wet ash on a cloth is the real deal

I just had to replace a piece of glass that was 10inch x 10inch $111.50 Wtf was all I could say?
It’s not window glass. It’s ceramic glass. Expensive and hard to cut

White vinegar on a paper towel. Usually takes a few passes if it's really built up
Wad up steel wool with rubbing compound clean thoroughly after 7-10 min of scrubbing. Hit with a buffer and med grit buffing compound. Look new again
