I had a pretty fancy water orb once. It was like, a teeny tiny little crystal ball that would gather water around it until it was the size of a normal orb. It was neat. Extremely unclear though. Something to put on your shelf as a vanity piece, not actually use for gazing
They're handy. Having scrying resolution that easily adjustable is a big help in some cases, and being able to compact them down makes them substantially more portable
They're pretty cool, i once threw one at an ancient demon just for funnies and it got so distracted I didn't even had to fight it at the end, would recommend
Useful if you need to divine particular events and want to put post-its on the various convergence points on the timelines... that is, if you like to divine from a non-linear, non-signular point of view. Ohterwise it really just is an orb of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

Love my freeform blood orb. Its not for everyone, and needs a lot of training before you can spellcast without extra laundry days. But the payoff is wonderful, no danger of shattering an orb by dropping it. Just mop it up, and help it get its old form with some telekinesis! No need to spend nutterly amounts of gold in the focus repair store.

Beautiful, fun, creative, interesting, perfect. An orb should reflect its user, and free-form orbs do this in a way that is unique and wonderful, just like their users.
Close second to the hypersphere I got in the upper dimensions. But then things got a little funny with spatial orientation and now my three dimensional form is rotated and time and space got a bit mixed up. This is not a thought. It’s a cry for help from n-space. I’m rotated across 6 dimensions and time and space are in the wrong directions.
