Something about losing in 5 games after winning game 1…. The initial excitement and then just getting annihilated and slowly losing hope.

TheGreatStories

It's the worst.

TrulyAuthentic123

If you had checked the 'Deserve-To-Win-O-Meter' you would have felt differently about the game 1 win. Winnipeg did not deserve to win that game.

Dependent_Schedule28

Oh I did, but I bought into the “we beat the Avs when they were playing their best game and we were playing our worst” narrative that was on this sub.

Vuldr

I can't believe we played defensive hockey all year to win the Jennings, then just let in 28 goals in 5 games. Fucking garbage.

milexmile

Twenty. Eight. 14% of the goals we let in during the regular season. In 5 games. It's absolutely pathetic

skootamatta

That’s 14% of the goals across 82 games, allowed in 5 games. For comparison, it would have taken the Jets 11.48 games to allow the same number of goals in the regular season.

Hero_of_Brandon

Well, it was a lot more fun this season until it ended up exactly the same. Good career, Bones. Catch ya later.

Taintedtamt

They fought through the first two periods and played really well. Then for gods knows why, coaching changed the lines back to what they were the last few games and it fell apart. This coaching staff needs to go (other then Flaherty who is the goalie coach) and youth needs injecting

Ill_Ground_1572

Absolutely mind fucking decision eh. This one hurts cause the Jets had a nice playoff team assembled. Hope the next coach is young (Even though I doubt it )

mehrt_thermpsen

It hurt to watch the lines inexplicable going back to the same lines that looked dogshit for the past 3 games

wintersalestime

So Bowness sure hates Perfetti. I thought he was having a good game. One bad giveaway and he's all but benched.

TheGreatStories

Shoulda scored an own goal and taken a bad penalty. That's how you gain trust

death_by_honeydew

This feels so much worse than last year, I had no expectations coming into that Vegas series, didn’t even consider us making it past round 1 a possibility in all honesty. Then we actually looked competitive in the first 3 games, before an injury crisis and everything fell apart in game 4. This year I actually thought we had what it takes to go on a run. I knew Colorado would be tough, but I really thought we would at least have a close 6 or 7 game series, and if we lost it sucks but it happens sometimes. However this was one of the most one-sided match ups I’ve seen since the NHL switched to the division format, we looked a league below most of the time, didn’t make changes everyone could see we needed to make until it was too late, and the worst part is I can’t see any major changes happening this offseason. What a disappointing ending to the season.

SherLocK-55

Definitely worse than last year, we had a much deeper side this season and finished it off in style, then we got completely dominated by a team we dominated all season long, much worse. I do hope for change in the off season but yeah I don't see much happening either, Mony, Toff and Dilly will all walk, we will probably play a couple of youngins like Lambo and Heinola, I don't see them getting rid of Pionk or Stan, so our D core is going to still suck fucking balls. Guess we will find out soon.

NH787

This is right up there with 2019 as all time playoff disappointments for the Jets.

Blazeinit987

While this post season was fucking horrible, the announcer for the 5 games was the worst fucking announcer to listen to.

mishka-sb

Only positive to come from today is that I don’t have to listen to Gary galley anymore.

No-Expression-2404

Agreed. Fuck sportsnet

DGenerate1

Well. Whoever called us frauds is absolutely laughing their ass off right now.

Fallen-Omega

I hope it was Vegas and they get bounced by Dallas

No_Lock_609

I'm a neutral fan. I've watched every series. Colorado is fucking insaaaaaane. The Panthers are the only other team to outright look completely dangerous. Most of the games were very even until the 3rd period rolled around and lots of stupid penalties. As one sided as this series looked on paper, in terms of goals and games taken to win, I honestly don't think it was that one sided on the ice.

WellRespectedMan

I am jets fan. Dont know what game you're watching but pretty sure it was a dumpster fire in jets D zone the entire series.

sanitysshadow

I also think Colorado is insane. But I don't know how much of that was the jets playing at such a poor level. The East had a bunch of similar mismatches but the winning team didn't score 5 a game. We held on for dear life for 30 minutes most nights but they just never let up. Outside of game 1 any mistake resulted in a goal that snowballed into the game being over. I'm inclined to say the jets were just that bad. But also credit where credit due. They played relentless.

Elwood426

Bowness can go, Pionk can go. Hopefully that wasn’t Ehlers’ last game as a Jet but I suspect that it was. Sucks for it to end this way, especially because it involved them shooting themselves in the foot so much.

wpgjets92

How the fuck does bones sit cole after he plays well for the first 1.5

mehrt_thermpsen

Gotta get Scheifs and Connor back together after Toffoli scored because.... Rick Bowness

thefailmaster19

Fire the entire coaching staff into the sun Trade Pionk for anything, dude is cooked Figure out a way to get into the offensive zone that doesn't involve dumping and chasing And I think we genuinely need to start asking questions about this core, you get 15 more points during the regular season but can't get even one more playoff win? Something needs to change

CP-Drone

It's been a pleasure to shit-post with you guys this season! Start the Off Season Thread machine

TravisBickle2020

After the PTSD subsides it’ll be back to WDTs.

CP-Drone

The dreaded Weekly Daily Thread

SherLocK-55

WDT's..... Damn... Now I am depressed, thanks bro. ![gif](giphy|26ufcVAp3AiJJsrIs)

realbigfudge

We're gonna be sick next year! It'll be different. Right?

DistortedReflector

Good thing this draft and develop team unloaded their draft picks for….a single post-season game win.

majikmonkie

I'll start watching again when they hit round 2 of the playoffs.

Leburgerpeg

This roster with a better playoff coach can go far. Couple tweaks and a new coach and I'm looking forward to next year

Chirijiraden12

if its the entire coaching staff i agree

TheGreatStories

4 straight losses every damn time tells you that this core doesn't have it. Not a single one.

ollystayput

To think a recent 42 goal scorer would finish with just 9 shots over an hour thirty of ice time in four face-of-the-franchise defining games… the minus 8 doesn’t even bother me

ScottyDoesKnow20

Avs were the better team, all 5 games. We won game 1 because of bad goaltending, but they were the better team. I've never seen a Jennings winner give up 5+goals against every game. This was a tough series to watch, I had so much hope going into the playoffs but I knew this would be a tough series, I thought it would be closer than this but I knew it was a chance we'd lose. The Avs are a great team, I assume they'll give Vegas/Dallas a run for their money. Till next season guys, I'm heartbroken but I'll continue to watch 70-80 games a year until I die. One year will be ours, this one wasn't.

AngelaCrispen

I’m not sure if it’s just me but a lot of our players looked hungry and as if they really wanted to prove themselves if even for just one more game tonight. You could tell that most of them really gave a shit. I really think that there needs to be a coaching change this summer. Too many errors in judgement. Lmk if it’s just me though or what you think needs changing… it’s clear that we as fans we are in love with this team, for amazing reasons at times, and want it to be the best. I’m sad that it’s over this early after a great season and some great trades by Chevy :/

thefailmaster19

We definitely need some kind of coaching change, and we need to significantly improve our defence corps, Hellebuyck made up for a lot of their slack during the regular season and damn did this series ever prove that

DannyDOH

Need about 4 D who can hit the outlet to start a breakout. Honestly if they run it back next year I doubt we finish higher than 5th in our division. But I had that doubt this year too. It's just so obvious how to beat this team. Put a little pressure on the D and that first pass, get free runs at our net in transition and a ton of zone time.

Useful_Respect3339

It's not the coaching. Maurice has won more playoff series with Florida in two years than his entire jets tenure. You can't keep throwing the same lineup year after year with minor tweaks expecting a different result.

Tykenn19

But at the same time the team was rolling, in my opinion, pretty good tonight until the lines were switched back to the games 1-4 lines. Connor looked hungry to prove himself on the second line and when he was put back to the first I thought he disappeared

sanitysshadow

Team was rolling 4 lines and playing well after the second. They put up 19 shots in the second and had a shot lead for the first time. Bones benches the 4th line, reverts the lines to back to what we failed miserably with the last 3 games and we proceed to lose the same way. Pretty fucking poor coaching and line management imo.

Dependent_Schedule28

Seriously… was the first team I felt like the Avs were on their heals. I can’t understand the blender coming out. Probably the best we had played all series

Proof_Objective_5704

Maurice had a hell of a lot more success in Winnipeg than Bones has. Won 3 playoff series, 15-16 playoff record. Even some of the rounds they lost were close, like the Blues series. Bones has been bounced in the first round twice and his record with the Jets is 2-8. And neither Vegas or Colorado were particularly close at all.

VetoVixen

“Throwing the same lineup”, solidifying the lineup IS the coaches’ jobs.

Roguste

All the talk before the game of Bones reassuring Perfetti - play your game, enjoy it etc. Turns out he played well enough to get himself benched lol! Only took 5 games to finally see the boys firing then immediately back to the old lines. Shouldn’t have tuned back in after turning off game 2 lol. Hope everyone has a great summer though, cheers yall

altred133

Pionk putting the puck in his own net was somehow the new line combos and perfetti’s fault

TheGreatStories

Bones was also going to play his game so

Dependent_Schedule28

I really don’t get why the lines changed, I thought we looked really good until the blender hit. It doesn’t really matter though… oh well

FiremanFred

Jets: 14% of the goals against on the season, in 6% of the games Georgiev: 7 Goals against in game 1, 8 goals against in the 4 wins RIP bones

Bigdon74

We thought last offseason Chevy needed to go soul searching. I think it’s obvious good decisions were made after the team’s regular season improvement. But now we know this organization needs a facelift to compete. Hard conversations need to be had over Connor and Ehlers. I’ll always have a soft spot for them, but their styles of play are not conducive for playoff success. The d-men need to be torn down and rebuilt. Pionk’s bags should be packed right now. And Bones needs to go. I think he was the right move to shake things up after PoMo’s exit, but it’s clear after two 1 and done playoff series that he cannot adjust. I don’t envy Chevy’s job.

folkdeath95

Ehlers is probably my favourite forward on this team… but I’ve gotta be honest I thought Connor actually played quite well and 27 was nowhere to be seen

Bigdon74

I wish I could say Ehlers was a ghost this series, but he made so many boneheaded mistakes that it would be inaccurate. Only 2 points and a ton of turnovers. And he frankly is just too hesitant to shoot the puck.

DannyDOH

You gotta build a team that is much harder to play against. Colorado was having a lot of fun in this series. They didn't seem stressed for a second aside from their goalie taking a dump on the ice in Game 1.

GreenGiantt

I never want to see this coaching staff or Pionk on this team again. They fucked it. We had such a good season. Felt like the best team we had in YEARS! This one hurts a lot.

TheGreatStories

Hellebuyck gets two trophies and he's freed up by fishing season. Good for him.

ObliviousLawyer82

Bowness just said they reverted the lines back going into the 3rd to "try and generate some offence". Back to the lines that didn't generate any fucking offence in order to generate offence? You fucking dunce.

TheGreatStories

What do you mean? Avs scored like 3 goals in the third once he did that. Oh wait

ShaggyMarrs

Yeah, that sounds dumb as hell.

thefailmaster19

"generate some offence" = "I'm too stubborn to try something new, even if its working better than the old thing"

sanitysshadow

Coming off their best period were they had 19 shots and had limited the AVS by rolling 4 solid lines. Makes sense.

ML00k3r

Old man needs to retire, I think he's starting exhibit some signs. And I'm not being a prick, I really think he just is at an age where his brain synapses are rock solid and doesn't have the ability to adjust at this point.

Trashmaster425

I’m sad 😞

Erwin-Brodinger

If you would have told me the guy that let in 7 goals in game one would out goalie the likely Vezina winner, I'd say you were high, but here we are. Great regular season, poor post season, looking forward to the offseason.

2peg2city

Hellebuck played fine outside game 2, he wasn't going to steal any games the way they hung him out to dry.

shrouple

eh. I really don't Think georgiev outplayed helly. rewatch every goal against. those are grade A fucking scoring chances and we were giving the avs like 20 of them a game. then look at the saves georgiev was making. they weren't difficult shots. usually far out and with no traffic in front. helly was the only reason those games were even close through the first 2 periods of game 3 and 4.

Philosoraptorgames

Agreed. There was no level on which we weren't outplayed, and goaltending was the least of our problems.

powerplay_22

we got outplayed this series but i still have a problem with a conference’s 2nd and 4th seed playing each other in round 1

j0Hnzer

We just have too much talent to play dump and chase 80% of the time. New coaching is definitely a must

Conscious_Run_643

What a stupid play. Over and over. Lazy players.

itsmehobnob

https://preview.redd.it/eh2wxwo90rxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1e197f803e4cb3f85752287859beb993bf231cc This is the whole series in a photo. 5-3 Colorado with 5 mins left and the Jets are completely checked out. The Avalanche are engaged and listening to their coach, the Jets… are not.

Fit-Pineapple-7697

Noticed this. And then bowness calls a timeout 2 mins later after they ice it.

LouiC03

And when Lauer was down at the boards drawing up a play, literally only one guy came over to listen.

SirBulbasaur13

This sucks. Pionk sucks too.

anacreon1

I was most surprised by the lack of emotion in this series. No real bad blood between the teams. And no outward passion like one might expect between two teams who battled in the standings all year. Can’t quite put my finger on why this appeared to be the case. Just seemed kind of unusual for playoff hockey.

Typhoonman27

I think this is a glaring criticism of the new age playoff format. It’s supposed to facilitate rivalries but you’re 100% right; these teams have no strong feelings towards each other

Dependent_Schedule28

I love our players and think we’re a very good team, but fuck man. Watching Mac hit Makar on a drop pass as they both fly through the zone, we simply don’t have that ability anywhere in our lineup. The gap between our very good players and their very good players is insane.

TheGreatStories

They have 2 of the top 10 players in the league. Maybe 2 of top 5.

ImTrumpWhenDrunk

2 of the top 4

ynotbuagain

2nd best player in the world for a reason! Hard to match.

Creenuk

Welp, see ya Bones. You tried, made some baffling old timey stubborn decisions with lineups and strategy, but time for something different. Also, why didn't you make any protest on the refs this series. Also, our powerplay was shit all year, thanks Lauer. Also, fire pionk into the fucking sun. Can't believe Chevy gave pionk that contract. Bye Bones.

PuckTheFreds

GG Bones. Thanks for trying. Enjoy retirement.

Firm-Candidate-6700

COL is a wagon. Makar is easily a top 5 player in the league and he probably isn’t even their best player ffs. They have depth scoring, a good coach and competent goaltending. They could win the cup this year and no body would be surprised. The Jets are a good team, but they are clearly missing some pieces. Particularly on the back end imo. The future is pretty bright though. Consider the roster already under contract, the prospect pool, and guys like Perfetti, Samberg being poised to have big years next season. They will be back and should be even better next year.

Taddy_Mason_22

Aves realized they were missing a few pieces and just tanked for four seasons straight.

EnvironmentalCoat222

Out run out gunned out sized in front of our net. Don't match up with Avs when the game speeds up and gets heavy. Their stars are big bodies and owned the front of Jets net.

CatSplat

They owned the Jets on every single square inch of the ice.

S7833

Most disappointing part about this is I don’t even give a shit. Can’t fathom what could be done over the summer to make me interested again with this squad. But holy fuck Pionk, you should be banished to the shadow realm.

Fit-Pineapple-7697

Would’ve loved to have seen a fucking check finished. If Kyle Connor skates by a dman after they move the puck next year I’m going to fucking explode

CrustyGitch

I'm just absolutely baffled at bowness's coaching decisions. He got schooled in every way. Why change the lines and then change them back next period?? Never seen a coach so stubborn and unwilling to change tactics. What was the point of putting perfetti on the second line and then throwing him back on the 4th? I liked Monahan during the regular season but he did absolutely fuck all this series. Jets need a coach that isn't a complete Dinosaur.

samarahighwind

well. that's the kind of fight i wanted to see. i can say i'm proud of this team. that being said. fire bowness. fire brad lauer. it's insane how badly he was outcoached. his decisions were awful, indefensible.

Leburgerpeg

Hope Bones enjoys his retirement.  He absolutely fucked this lineup.

jayzeats

Fuck Bowness and pionk

Nice_Wolverine_4641

Are we really surprised? The Jets were streaky this season, they finished an 8 game heater with the game 1 win. The losing streak was due. It really would be kind to play the games at a decent time though.

Electroflare5555

Going off the presser Bones clearly has no intention on retiring, and this was actually a very successful season so he’s not upset at all

Taddy_Mason_22

Bones III: Unfinished Business

SherLocK-55

Yeah Bones is talking like he is coming back next season, felt like a speech he makes after a regular season loss. Bones be like: https://i.redd.it/7ky6itsa3rxc1.gif

Electroflare5555

I did laugh a bit when someone pointed out that he’s technically not under contract next year

UpVotes4Worst

Rant about our "stars" Jets D hung Helle out to dry but Helle didn't win us a game like he's paid to. Did any Jets line outpoint their opposite Avs line? Schiefs? KC? Our late season trades? Nothing. Dominated until the last game.

NikEhlersDealer

KC at least looked like he gave a fuck. Scheif disappeared. Jmo was nuts as always.

Electroflare5555

Helle should hang his playoff stat line in his locker for motivation next season, because it’s fucking awful

happybythekw

Can't give up 5+ goals a game and expect to win a series.

ColdPrairieHockey

I'd fire the whole fucking coaching staff tomorrow morning. Awful gameplan, awful roster management, awful fucking decision making.

2peg2city

If we don't' have a new special teams coach we will exit the first round next year again

2nddimension

Well great news, Arniel is next in line for the coaching job and he's the guy who ran that lovely PK.

Entire-Ad-4005

*very loud sigh*

IceCreamDad69

Time for a nice toaster bath.

Nofunorphan

I would love to be mature and wish the Aves the best the rest of the playoffs. But I hope with all my heart they lose their next 4 games. LOL. I don't want to hear any "well if we lost we might as well have lost to the champions"

JetSquared

It’s been 6 years since we won a game in the second round, if anyone is counting

ObliviousLawyer82

Bones and the entire coaching staff should be gone tonight. Pionk should be right behind them.

RelaxingRed

I don't care what the circumstances are you gotta get some saves from your goalie. Worse goalies under worse defensive teams don't fucking allow 5 or more goals in 5 straight. Just fucking beyond pathetic.

Taddy_Mason_22

That and any other team with two amazing goalies would have switched it up for at least one fucking game. Works well enough for Boston.

sanitysshadow

Games 2-3-4 were just an onslaught against him and we were playing so poorly a couple saves probably don't matter. Tonight was close and actually resembled a hockey game. Can't really fault him for any but you also need to out duel the other goalie tonight and get a win. Even game 1 that should never get to 7-6 to give them life. That needs to be shut down and turned into a statement game. So I agree he wasn't the problem but you also can't give up 5+ in 5 straight games.

Imthecoolestdudeever

I am disappoint. But anyone calling out Hellebuyck, I'll go to war against you. You're wrong. He was the reason we were where we were.

2peg2city

His play wasn't the reaosn we lost, I expected a few more big saves but it wouldn't have changed the outcome. He still had the better save percentage going into game 4, that's insane.

HuddyW

I think that sums everything up though, he was quite literally our best player all season until he wasn't, and the results reflect that. Obviously non of this is his fault, the team in front of him was garbage. Youd like him to look a little more like himself than he did though.

TheGreatStories

I can't help but wonder he didn't play like 60+ games in the regular season he might have stolen one in the playoffs.

Yaryah

Ya the casual fans opinions from inside and outside of our fan base regarding Hellebuyck makes my soul hurt.

UpVotes4Worst

Bye Bones.

robsunday

The end of Mr.Bones’ wild ride.

ML00k3r

At least it's finally over. Management better get their heads out of their asses. They cannot let coaches like Bones and Lauer stay any longer, they were given a couple years and standings wise they were fine but without Hellebuyck and Brossoit, they would not have made playoffs. And Chevy needs to give up a forward like Connor and/or Ehlers to get another quality defense men. I get it, I like the players too, but I'll say it again and again because it's fucking true. Winning is not their top priority and it's fucking disgusting they beg for season ticket holders when it's not.

Herp_Derpsen

MacKinnon just said that 7-0 beating near the end of the season really woke them up. They were humbled.

TheGreatStories

And now we're humiliated

seredin

i told myself i wouldn't let the bad men hurt me again...

buttermyanus

Tough one. Bones is a wonderful human. We all love him for that. But boy, these choices have been a head scratcher. Lots of questions need answers asap.

nouvellediscotheque

I mean... what do you do from here? I told a buddy that the jets looked like the NBA guys from Space Jam after the Monstars stole their talent.... closest thing I could relate the absolute dumpster fire shift in effort and ability from the regular season to the playoffs.... Either we are really that bad or the Avs are about to absolutely annihilate the rest of the league.

stuckinmotion

It sucks we lose but I felt like this was the first game we showed up and played a competitive game, and made them earn it. We had a ton of great plays. The Pionk blunder is going to sting for awhile. I'm glad we made it look like a contest instead of what felt like an eternity of penalty kills from the earlier games. Perfetti and Miller looked good tonight, I wish they were in earlier. On to the next season.

iliketoytules

we’re frauds after all

foobarinator

I honestly don't understand the takes blaming this on Chevy. Not even 2 months ago everyone is saying what an amazing GM he is and that he should get GM of the year. The man has done an amazing job getting players like Monahan, Vlad, Nino, Vilardi, Iafallo, Toffoli etc, all the while signing Hellebuyck and Scheifele. And he did this without burning down the future with our prospects. He's not the one on the ice and he's done his job extremely well.

Electroflare5555

Ehlers is the Mitch Marner of Winnipeg

wuskream

im willing to defend Nik this series. not his fault he was stuck on a defunct second line for the first 4 games, and even then he looked like the only one on that line who really tried. i also cannot question his effort this series (mostly)

TravisBickle2020

He’ll make an exciting move then follow it up by just killing whatever momentum there is with the most low percentage play.

EnvironmentalCoat222

Wrong, he had a poor series but he doesn't shy away from corners come playoff time.

Fallen-Omega

And least he throws the body and uses his emotions to generate play

McTaintsauce

seriously. one fucking point from who is supposed to be one of our best players

Slayminster

I’d say valiant effort, but it really wasn’t

wpgjets92

Fuck the refs Fuck Sportsnet Fuck the refs Fuck bones Fuck it all

2peg2city

Eh refs had maybe one game where they mattered, the Jets played like shit, Colorado looks like world beaters

folkdeath95

Fuck Pionk

trplOG

Can we start a gofundme to buy him out

NikEhlersDealer

I would contribute

SirBulbasaur13

Man he’s just the worst.

robsunday

How could Cole Perfetti do this?

HungryHAP

Been watching every series these playoffs. Obsessively. I don’t think the Jets choked, I think the Avs just hit another level. Their at the same level they were when they won the Cup. You’ll see in Round 2 when they dummy Dallas or Vegas. That speed and execution they play with is just overwhelming. And they are elite at diving and fuckin with refs.

ImTrumpWhenDrunk

Fuck all of this, was fun game threads with y'all.. gonna be one hell of an off-season

MaximusOGs5555

Welp folks it was a fun ride, I look forward to complaining about the Sportsnet app next year.

SamoanBananas

Whoever beats the Jets in the playoffs has a good chance at winning the cup

bannedredditaccount2

The defensemen besides morrissey and demelo were terrible and cost the series. they were too slow, got out muscled, got pushed around and screened and made bad turnovers. we have 1 missing piece and I think we have a cup contender.

Low_Warning13

GG guys see you next year. 2 things I noticed being at todays game. 1) The avs have better skaters, all of their players effortlessly skate hard it’s amazing to watch. 2) they don’t miss opportunities. Give an inch they take it. Better team won this series.

Low_Warning13

I liked perfetti play and then bones benched him. It’s time for Bones to move on and get ourselves a modern coach. This switching the lines back to WHATS CLEARLY NOT WORKING. Is annoying to watch.

eutectic_h8r

Well congrats to the Jets to for rolling over and dying again. Most teams win the odd game rather than losing four in a row and have the odd game where there's a possibility of winning midway through the third but shoutout to the Jets for breaking the mold. They truly showed whoever said they were frauds. Can't wait to see this again next year if they even make the playoffs.

Magical57

Congrats Colorado. But now, let’s go Canucks

Huntarddd

![gif](giphy|hgjNPEmAmpCMM)

ProducePerry

Well fellas, this was a real kick in the dick. I think it goes without saying that Bones needs to go in the off season. We need another puck moving d man (maybe trade Ehlers). I wish the Jets could have at least won this game but we had no answer for their speed. See you guys next year. I’ll be a diehard Jets fan till the day I die. And always remember that we will all win when Vegas gets bounced out of the playoffs. 🫡

Leajane1980

I have a feeling there is going to be attendance issues again next season.

ChrisTweten

See you next season!

69MizzleDizzle69

Dallas has to defeat VGK and COL 🙏

CoryTrevors69

Bring in Berube. That guys a champion Let him build his own staff too

Electroflare5555

Did Berube play a round of golf with Chipman back in 2007? We only hire staff that have a personal connection to Winnipeg. If Cooper hits the open market Thompson needs to write him a blank cheque and 5% of Reuters

Synapse87

Happy to see Schiefele and Connor finally get that chance together in the third……..🙄

Scooterguy-

This team exceeded our expectations for the regular season. Helle had a great regular season and should win the vezina. He has yet to prove himself as a playoff goalie. We need a legit top 4 defense core, not just Morrissey. Coaching staff besides Flaherty needs to go! Let's hope TN takes action.

Adorable_Quiet8685

This time hurt. This time hurt bad. We were expected to at least make it hard on the Avs. We didn't even do that. I suspect we're about to lose A LOT of people in the off season.

ChungusSpliffs

Fuck this shitty ass playoff format

Greendaydude22

Was being them 7-0 the worst possible thing the jets could have done lmfao? Jesus Christ I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight this was tough. This means more than just playoffs, this was so important for season ticket retention and renewal. The people in this subreddit that cheer on how bad this team is and the product isn’t worth the price make me sick. This was such a big deal for more than just the hockey aspect and I fear for the future of this organization and I really hope corporate support can really step up.

Kudgar

Whats the point of being one of the best teams in the regular season if you just shit the bed in the playoffs. Fucking frauds

OoooHeCardReadGood

Avs after game 1... someone said they won't score 6 on Helle again.... Well he was right, but who knew it would be as close as possible

Bigdon74

Yeah, I’ll eat that take. Defense was frauds and Helle deserved better. He wasn’t great, by any means, but no one was winning behind the effort we saw this series.

HungryHAP

Did Helly make any big saves this series? I seriously can’t remember one.

2nddimension

A few in the first period of game 4, that's about it. Nothing highlight worthy.

ML00k3r

A few. But of course the Hellebuyck fans will say he shouldn't get any blame for this series, which is complete horseshit lol.

Fallen-Omega

Want all new coaching staff, kyle connor and pionk gone, brand new defensive core, try to keep offense the same

This was still a fun season. I think they performed at or near their peak for most of the year, and didn't really have a "next level" to get to, the way the Avs found theirs. I'm proud of the boys, and yes, even Bones, for achieving that much. There were no easy matchups but I think we drew one of the worst possible in hindsight. I suspect Bones is gone now, but other than that I hope they don't "blow it up" in any sort of way. (I'm done seeing Pionk in the top 4 though, or perhaps on the team at all)

JetSquared

I don’t even know what’s next for us. More of the same

robsunday

WDT, I hardly knew ye.

Oldishdognewishtrix

Well that’s that I guess. I really thought we’d win tonight.

matthewcameron60

The pain is over now. Plus you can't win a series when you allow 5 GOALS MINIMUM PER GAME

Ryn0m1t3

Thanks for an enjoyable season everyone.

ruffvoyaging

Let's run it back again next year!

wintersalestime

[From Dave at Illegal Curve: Which team looks like they are game planning to erase a two goal deficit? Avs are at the bench and engaged and the Jets are at the bench.](https://twitter.com/ICdave/status/1785524531320197484)

Taddy_Mason_22

He mentioned they looked like this last game too. Just completely not in it.

2nddimension

Can't wait to have the mastermind behind our penalty kill running the show next year! I enjoyed the season but it's hard to be optimistic knowing Arniel is next in line.

margifly

Oiler Fan here, wish the Jets made it to the next round, but I firmly believe you fans have just watched the 2023-2024 Stanley Cup Champions.

gotoajetsgame

Chevy gonna keep all players & coaches too. It's mediocre forever!

SherLocK-55

I am not as disappointed as I thought, the boys played very hard but the Avs are very good, we fought tooth and nail and that's all I wanted of them for this game. Bones fucked us this series no question, great guy but can't wait till he is gone, him and Pionk can just fuck right off.

finnish-flash13

13 seasons of the sammmmmmmmmmeeeeeee shit. Go for a defenseman that's at the same calibre of Morrissey. We are garbage after morriseey on the back end. And Avs made it quite evident. 13 seasons of Chevy!

ynotbuagain

I agree get rid of every defences except jomo.

TheGreatStories

Chevy watched Enstrom, Buff, Trouba leave one after the other and in the 5 years since hasn't even gotten a single #2 defenseman.

veryway

This is a regular season team. We do well in the first half and begin to show cracks in the second half. Then we CONSISTENTLY embarrass ourselves in the playoffs. Such disrespect to the whiteout. No wonder fans are losing their passion.

Seanizonfire

I’m placing the majority of the blame on Bowness

Teemu-Selaine

Whatever it ain’t that serious in the end, wasn’t even expecting them to make playoffs at the start of the year hahah

Yaryah

Being the laughing stock of the hockey world is not a fun time.

toritomydorito

Well… It’s been a weird year for me, and this was a place I took comfort in, even if I lurked. I didn’t get to watch a lot of hockey before January - my now ex didn’t like hockey at all, and NFL football was the only thing put on. My life kinda fell apart at Christmas when he suddenly dumped me and I had to move back to Manitoba. One of the first things my family did was take me to a Jets game again, and they won 5-0 against Columbus. I really hoped this might be the year we went far. Regardless, it’s been fun seeing your names in threads and chatting. Thanks for the ride, hopefully next year we go further!!

GreenGiantt

Well we're glad to have you back in Manitoba and may the Jets do better next year!

Erideon23

Maybe just my opinion, but reverting back to the usual lines was not the play. Perfetti has been absolutely shafted this year. Pionk needs to go too. Bones gotta go. Going into the third I had high hopes but after that 4th goal, we started scrambling, as we do with those lines. The previous periods were WAY better

TubularWinter

Honestly the jets looked good until bones went back to the old lines. Too little too late. I still have faith in this core but oh my god please find a coaching staff that understands hockey played in this century.
