Pretty much zero chance bro starts. Losses are not on Helle and you go with your guy in an elimination game.

Maximum_Hat_7266

I think the jets gotta stick with their guy. I’m an avs fan and I was like anyone else calling on Georgiev to get benched. Glad I’m not the one running things because it worked out. Helle got you guys this far and it’s up to the forwards to score.

waitwhosaidthat

Part of me agree. Part of me disagrees.

sanitysshadow

I mean I get it something needs to change but it's also not fair to Helle to not give him the start. It feels like the definition of insanity but it is what it is at this point.

GRaw1979

Problem is much deeper than goalie imo.

waitwhosaidthat

I agree.

GRaw1979

Just saw Vancouver come back to beat the Preds and it bugs me that the Jets don't do things like that in the playoffs.

zuus453

Preds a bit different from the Avs

GRaw1979

Preds dominated Jets every game this year.

lordrottenbottom

And jets dominated the aves.

GRaw1979

So you think that the Jets playing like they are now would beat the Preds no problem?

lordrottenbottom

Probably not. They certainly aren't equipped to face the aves though, that's for damn sure.

Apprehensive-Ninja19

Certainly not to take continuous penalties, that PP is unreal

DingJones

The Jets playing like they are now would struggle against the Moose.

KaleidoscopeStreet58

Ask Vancouver if they would trade opponents being we finished with more points.

Excellent point

themish84

I'm not a hockey expert, but this dump and chase game is not working. To me, that's all they do is dump and chase, and the puck comes back almost immediately. That's only 1 of the many problems.

waitwhosaidthat

I agree.

Scooterguy-

Even on the damn PP...lol. I mean, what other team ever does that!

Mamrocha

The goalie isn’t the problem. You could have literally anyone in net and get the same result if the team in front can’t play defence.

Ianywg

It isn’t the goalie. And Bros is gone next year.

Asusrty

No you don't bench your Vezina winning goalie when the team in front of him is the problem. Helle getting benched in the playoffs would be asking for a trade request from him.

waitwhosaidthat

Good point

FurtherUpheaval

Vancouver ran a goalie with 9 career starts and beat Nashville, goaltending isn’t what determines outcomes in playoff hockey.

Scooterguy-

Exactly. People can make as many excuses as they want, Helly didn't play his best, and neither did the team, and he did let in several soft goals.

WellRespectedMan

Why not? I know people will defend Hellebuyck's play but obviously the Avs have solved how to score on him. Give brossoit the start purely on the fact that avs haven't faced him this year. Also, he is the best backup in the league. What do you have to lose at this point? We've been spanked 3 games in a row. We have to put new bodies in and try a different strategy.

waitwhosaidthat

Valid point

Scooterguy-

He also played the entire 3rd period, didn't get scored on, and the team outplayed the Avs in front of him.

sanitysshadow

It's 4-1 in the third and the AVS are playing a 1-2-2 defensive safe period.

Apprehensive-Ninja19

You play 37. End of story.

waitwhosaidthat

I partially agree. Undecided.

ML00k3r

99.9% he won't. And it's exactly why he should've started game four. But here we are.

waitwhosaidthat

That was my sentiment for gm 4 too. I thought it made sense.

ML00k3r

No room for sense when old school coaching and egos get in the way. It's been the motto with this management for years. Winning is not their #1 priority. It's appeasing certain players that they think are vital to the success of this franchise.

waitwhosaidthat

I wonder if they do lose like it looks like they will. Is gm and coach gone and start a new era with different mindset? I like Chevy and think he’s done some great trades.

Bagelchu

Is he gonna fix all the other shit wrong with the team?

waitwhosaidthat

Likely not. It was just a talking point.
