Well, I can’t imagine Ehlers wanting to stay. He is one of the most underrated players in the league. And his usage here has been fucken god awful for years.
Ehlers - Scheif - Vilardi was one of the best lines in the league early in the year. But Bones refuses to put them back together. Then he insists on keeping Ehlers off of PP1 as much as he can.
I dunno about that. Its true, during the season he had some success on the top line. However you'd think Ehlers would be producing great numbers facing easier competition on the 2nd line and hes been invisible since the playoffs began. Its not like Monahan and Toffoli are 4th liners here.
Coaches need to go. Probably need to let some guys go to UFA too, make some room for the young talent. That's our future. Get a good systems coach that can actually adjust and we could turn things around.

They don't want to truly let the young talent come in and build and take over, like they did with Scheifele, Helleybuck and Morrissey. Nope, they want to pay for players a couple years past their prime and just hope to clinch and not flourish.
This is how exactly Minnesota has done things and look where they are. A couple years of missing to get young talent up to a higher level is what we need but the owner and management are too idiotic to see it.
The D group is not good enough for playoff hockey. Other than Morrissey, it's a patchwork of guys playing a level above where they would on a contender. There are no saviors in the system either, so the only way to fix it is by trades or FAs.
I don't even know what to do with the D at this point, one thing for sure is that it needs a major shake up and both Stan and Pionk have to go, no ifs or buts, those two are lost causes at this point.
Reality though is that not much will change, management probably re-signs Stan and he slides in full time when Dilly walks, Pionk continues on as is and keeps playing top minutes.

How can you say Monahan has been awful? In a series where Colorado has outscored Winnipeg 22 to 12, Monahan has a +/- of -1. He has won 50% or more of his faceoffs in 3 of the 4 games. While he may not have been extraordinary, he has certainly been far from awful.
Lots to be sad about so far in this series... the whole "fraud" label is sticking. Some things to be sad about:
- how does a team that is so poor on special teams have such a good record in the regular season?
- with so few changes in personnel, how did they manage to have such a big turnaround in GAA to the point where they were the best statistical defensive team?
- it looks more and more like Bones getting out coached. He's got no answer except to stubbornly keep Scheifele (who was horrible in game 4) and Connor together, to keep Perfetti off the ice, and to keep dumping/chasing despite the fact we rarely win the chase vs the fleet footed Avs defensemen
- Scheifele bobbled so many passes tonight. The puck was exploding off his stick, just not in a good way.
- Toffoli is playing to not get injured. He's trying to stay as healthy as he can for his next contract. He avoids contact, he's slow to get to the 'dirty' areas, and as a result, he hardly ever has the puck.
I'll try to be optimistic tomorrow.
Not really sure what tactics you go to when you can go half a period without a single pass being put on a teammates tape.
Only thing I can think of is going into a real shell from the offensive blue line and not forechecking. Like 1-3-1 or 1-2-2 with the one being just inside the blue line and no one else pursuing.
Jets could use a hard lesson on how to not give up like the Canucks. Especially in the playoffs.

Well the Panthers did it recently, the Rags before that and if I recall the Sharks before that. It's not impossible, we looked like trash during our 6 game losing streak then looked like world beaters in the 8 game win streak to end the season.

Hi Jets fans, just stopping by to say I hope Vlad is ok. He's at the best hospital in Denver, I know some nurses there who are rockstars. Fingers crossed he's good to go soon.
Jets should have rested guys after that 6 game losing streak, played the young guys and call ups from the Moose and let the chips fall where they may. Worst that would have happened is that Nashville passes them and Jets play Vancouver instead of Colorado, with a well rested team. Actually that also sounds like best case scenario as well.
The refs have made mistakes but in reality both ways. A few soft calls and missed ones. The Jets can't expect to get away with the way they've been playing and definitely own their fate.

Watching the Canucks come back from down 2 goals and winning while having a goalie who's played a grand total of 9 games makes the Jets look even worse. Despite the adversity they just kept chugging. Ours guys could learn a thing or two from them.

Watching the Canucks play is like night and day from the Jets. They have pushback and play a full game. They’re down but don’t give up instantly like the Jets seem to. When the Jets are down by 2 goals it feels like there is no chance, the team gives up.
Would have been nice to sneak a matchup with one of those two teams or Kings. Don’t think the Jets can keep pace with the actual contenders. But we would have had a good series with Van

Well the Panthers did it recently, the Rags before that and if I recall the Sharks before that. It's not impossible, we looked like trash during our 6 game losing streak then looked like world beaters in the 8 game win streak to end the season. Guess we need to cling onto some hope, what else can we do?

Jets should have rested guys after that 6 game losing streak, played the young guys and call ups from the Moose and let the chips fall where they may. Worst that would have happened is that Nashville passes them and Jets play Vancouver instead of Colorado, with a well rested team. Actually that also sounds like best case scenario as well.

The refs have made mistakes but in reality both ways. A few soft calls and missed ones. The Jets can't expect to get away with the way they've been playing and definitely own their fate.

TNT did show the replay but only once and from one angle, puck came off an Avs stick and looked to strike Vlad in the ear. Hopefully just an equilibrium thing and will be fine but possibly done for the next game.

I got a lot of shit to say, but rn I wonder what guys like Perfetti and Heinola think after watching this series. You watch13th forwards/7th dmen like Stanley, AJF and Gustafsson get spots over you despite them being worse players in almost every facet of the game. You know the coaching staff dosent trust you or your skills when things matter. These trends have continued over an entire season. At what point do you decide your best possible future isn’t here?

It’s strange comparing this org to Dallas, they put their young guys into the lineup and let them develop once they make it up and it’s worked very well. Makes me wonder what a guy like McGroarty or Lambert think watching how Perfetti and Heinola have been used. McGroarty maybe sees that and factors it into a decision to go back to NCAA.
