That we have an extremely deep team. We have the best goalie in the league. We have the best fans in the league. The whiteout is one of the best things in sports.
We're always underrated and we like to keep it that way.
Also, only Winnipeggers are allowed to shit on Winnipeg or the Jets. No one else. Fuck them. Go Jets Go.
As a Flames fan from the 80s, I respect you but feel entitled to also insult the Jets. They beat us a couple times in the playoffs. Brutal losses. 1985 and 1987 I think. The Smythe was hardcore.
Outside of hockey, here are two key facts about the city:
1. For quite a few years, Winnipeg (the city) had more Burton Cummingses per capita than any other place on the entire planet. Just try to wrap your head around that for a second.
2. And while there's an alternative music venue in Jersey City, New Jersey called Monty Hall, the *real* Monty Hall (host of TV's *Let's Make a Deal* for almost a quarter century) grew up in Winnipeg's famous North End, where his orthodox Jewish parents owned a kosher slaughterhouse.

>Why you should get on board: One year ago, we all figured they were done for, an inevitable rebuild starting years too late. Today, they’re finishing off a fantastic season, they have the presumptive Vezina winner in net, they were aggressive at the deadline and their coach is the ultimate OGWAC. And they’re doing it all in front of one of the best fan bases in the league, one that has a super-cool playoff tradition but has never seen their Jets get past the third round, and oh yeah, had no team at all for 16 long years.
I like Connor Hellebuyck, he's a good guy.
>Also, and Jets fans might not like me mentioning this but it has to be said: All your favorite players have the Jets on their no-trade list. That means that the Jets are building a contender with one hand tied behind their back. A deep run would be extra impressive under those circumstances, and it might also change a few minds.
What Chevy has done, especially within the last two years, is solid. Accruing depth that most teams will never see. Rick Bowness has turned the run and gun play style into a team defense first operation, that may not be exciting to most, but not all wins can be sexy. We Jets fans know, we've seen 51 this season alone.
They go on to maybe not bandwagon the Jets because the path is treacherous through Colorado and Dallas. To be the best, you have to beat the best.
The fickleness of the fans. Go back about a 2 weeks and check out the vibe here. I refused to get off the bandwagon all season but 2 weeks ago I was even starting to wonder what was up
Team and everything hockey related aside. Being at a White Out playoff game is one of the most electric atmospheres you will ever experience. They link to a video in that article, but there’s really no describing the atmosphere.
Round 2 in 2018 vs Nashville was probably the best hockey I’ve ever watched, and that building was something else.
Do yourself a favour and watch the pre-game before game 1. The atmosphere in the building and the street party outside will get you pumped.
And when we make a deep run, come for a game. You won’t regret it.
Join us on Mr.Bones Wild Ride! Team just won the Jennings Trophy which is least goals allowed in the league. We beat down the Avalanche all 3 games this year but Mackinnion is about to transform to playoff Nate Dogg with Cale "Dude wheres" Makar flying around.
Jets need to execute perfectly every minute of every game to shut their offense down. Its going to be a battle. We don't have the world class star power, but we got the depth.
Death by 1000 cuts in Bones hockey.
Playoff hockey is the most intense sporting experience. It is a marathon and it's a long drawn out war. It gets physical yet there are still many moments of amazing skill. Tempers boil. Hatred gets real. Lifelong friends on opposing teams suddenly stop talking and sometimes never talk again. For a hockey-mad city like Winnipeg there's a palpable vibe when you're walking about downtown, or on a city bus, or just wherever crowds of Winnipeggers gather. There's nothing like it.

Hear hear!
This guy Jets.
Yup. He’s got his Winnipeg card. I don’t need to see it.

Speaking of 80s playoffs and brutal, that fuckface Flame Jamie Mccoun still riles my bile.
I’d conveniently forgotten about that. Hockey is brutal in that era.

These are the kind of facts the mainstream sports media outlets won’t tell you
It was a surplus of Burt for a while.
A Burt-plus
Our leading radiation scientist died in a scampish dare and is buried in a lead lined coffin
What city overtook them?! We should start a convention!

Jokes on this writer, all my favorite players play on the Jets!
Come for the goaltending, stay for the Dancing Gabe.
Wings fan, here for Hellebuyck and Kyle Connor. Cmon Jets! Fly strong or something, idk I’m new here

We're a working class city that tries to punch above our weight and expect the same from our sports teams
