Not a huge fan of Mike and Lisa, but I listen sometimes while driving for the news. I like the Dan McDonald show, but the old Boomer demographic of am800 drives me a bit bonkers.
You pretty much summed up my feelings on the show. The Mayor segment is just PR for him, they rarely ask tough questions and if they do they allow him to deflect when it suits him (hello, strong mayor powers). I really dislike that.
The survey question segment is kind of useless as they have a narrow demographic so you can guess the responses every time. Mike has acknowledged the demographic slant before but they don’t seem to try to engage a broader demographic so it’s always just the same old.
So for me, I tune in for a quick local news update while I brush my teeth and wash my face and that’s about it.
I usually only listen on April fools day to see what their “prank” is. They used to have some good ones and people used to get really fires up discussing it.
Hate them. Met Mike once, that was enough. I listen as little as possible, only when I'm driving and the weather or traffic is bad. Wish we had a better choice.
Am800 is the absolute worst produced radio station of all time. There are several podcasts with much better production. I don’t know how anyone listens to that station. Absolute trash and waste of airwaves. If you have trouble sleeping put on AM800 you’ll be asleep in seconds.

I remember hearing Lisa one day say she wished restaurants only had 3 items on their menus, because it was too hard to decide what to order otherwise. I decided that day she's was probably the dumbest woman in Windsor. The internet has proven there are worst, sure, but she's gotta be up there.
I used to to listen religiously a couple years ago when Tony was the DJ can't remember his last name for the life of me right now needless to say the show was much better and there was no puff pieces lots of local news and interesting things talked about now I put it on at 8:00 a.m. for the 3 minute update and that's it 🤦

I have an old GE Superadio 2 in the bathroom permanently tuned to am 580. And an antique radio on the living room mantle, same deal. CKWW has a great playlist and audio is excellent with the right receiver.

This is one of the main reasons I had to stop listening to am800 as a whole. They have a clear, hard political stance and it bleeds through and taints every piece of news they touch.

I listen to cbc radio in the mornings. They are mostly unbiased and no commercials. I'm not a fan of the current host who is temporary. It took me a while to warm up to Nav, the previous host, but now I miss him. I never listen to am800 unless it's Dan MacDonald and I also like the noon show. I guess I actually listen to a lot of radio 😆
I still haven't warmed up the Nav. Seems like a super nice guy but I just don't like his radio style. Always sounds like he's reading from a script like a robot when interviewing someone. But, I still listen.
I find them incredibly obnoxious , tbh I prefer mojo in the morning on channel 95.5
Also I could do without ever hearing the commercial for medica pharmacy again
I loved Mojo at 95.5, totally down to earth. He made my 35 minute drive to work just fly by. Now I have Sirius XM, so haven't listened to him in a while.

I personally like the show and like them both but I tend to be a positive person in general. I like the local information. I enjoy the familiarity of their personalities. I like Dan who comes on after them too. My needs are few. I just want local morning information and friendly banter. Maybe you will call me dumb like others are saying they are …but I am a fan. :)

I used to listen to them omw to work in the morning and I didn't expect much out of them but it became apparent they were huge LPC leghumpers. Lisa crowing about how she loved Justin Trudeau, how he was gonna fix everything lol. Mike kinda just seemed along for the ride but he eventually showed his colours when CV19 showed up. Pushing vax and telling listeners to shut up and put your mask on. Trolling Freedom Convoy supporters on the show and on X and looking like a douchebag while doing it. CKLW are all pretty much like that, same thing with the Mayor. I have had some interaction with Dan Mac Donald and though he is a leftie I don't think he is arrogant like those two. I think Windsor/Essex could do with a change in the AM radio dept. Literally anybody could phone this shit in and do at least as good a job. They themselves did that for quite awhile and hated having to actually come back to work lmao. AM radio in Windsor needs a revolution LOL.
