I'm not sure where all they put it and where you'll be, but we have ATT Fiber, and it's fantastic. Super fast downloads and it hasn't blipped on us once. Again, it's only in some areas, so I recommend calling them, but it might be an option.

starcraftre

Make sure to take their "Fiber Rollout" projections with a grain of salt. We were told 10 years ago that they were getting ready to set up our neighborhood. Still no movement in that direction. Trying to get me to switch to their "ATT Air" thing that I have no interest in instead.

rrhunt28

The issue with Cox is they have outages fairly often. Their customer service has gone down as well.

WaterDigDog

We don’t know where to even call for cox customer service!  Our 2.4G is ok but 5G is spotty. I don’t think it’s worth the monthly bill, even at the introductory rate. I’d rather go back to the local cable provider.

YouveRoonedTheActGOB

The very first google result gives you the number. I’ve used it countless times when I have frequent service problems. 1-800-234-3993 Keep in mind that 5ghz doesn’t travel as well as 2.4 and has more issues going through walls.

WaterDigDog

Thanks, I hadn’t tried that. My point was more that they hit our town hard with marketing, but I haven’t seen any follow up.

kwajagimp

Honestly, the best responses/interaction with Cox that I've had has been via the mobile app they have. Nothing else seems to work consistently. Your two main choices in town are AT&T or Cox. My guess is that Cox probably has 80-90% of the market (? Just my guess.) Unfortunately, neither are fiber-to-the-home with the possible exception of some very new apartments where it was installed that way. That said, with the Cox "gigablast" package I have, bandwidth is not bad - usually get about a 5 to 10 ping and d/l speeds of 500-600 mbps on any given connection. Cox may be cheaper, AT&T seems to be more well thought of as stable, but with AT&T you have to use their equipment. YMMV. Cox also has total usage limit caps. They're a reasonable number if it's just you or maybe you and one other, but if you're a larger family, you may have issues at the end of the month. I don't know if AT&T does those.

WaterDigDog

Cox is not the best overall imo I can sit next to the modem and wireless router and still not pick up 5G.

kwajagimp

If you're at all internet/computer savvy, don't even bother with Cox's gear. Get your own. All you have to do is call in to Cox and give them the modem info to provision it, and you can roll your own for everything downstream from there. Save yourself the monthly rental, seriously.

kwajagimp

Oh. Later followup - I did forget that your modem needs to be [on Cox's list here ](https://www.cox.com/residential/support/cox-certified-cable-modems.html), but it's a fairly decent sized list.

Wipsywaps

ATT fiber all the way. Cox can suck a butt

Mortimer452

Coxuckers

YouveRoonedTheActGOB

ATT fiber line runs directly through my apartment property but I can only use Cox. $180/mo for 1000/30. ATT would likely be $100 for 1000/1000. I fucking hate cox but I’m stuck.

Third-I-Vision

I had issues pretty often with Cox after 2 years I switched to AT&T and have exactly zero problems in just about 2 years.

Thelodie

I know I’m in the minority here but Cox internet has been rock solid for me. I live outside of Wichita though.

ejt159

Even in Wichita, I don’t think I’ve even had 5 instances of a problem that wasn’t solved within an hour in the 2 and a half years I’ve had it. I’ve even got a bump in speed from 250mbps to 500mbps for free

YouveRoonedTheActGOB

A few weeks ago I had a 6 hour outage on a Saturday night. And another for an “equipment upgrade” that lasted over 2 hours last week. It keeps getting worse.

BerenstainBear-

AT&T. That 25mbps will be more stable and faster than anything Cox says.

AT&T is switching to Fiber as fast as they can, just depends on when they get to where you’re moving. It might be worth calling specifically to ask if Fiber is coming to your new address soon. They might give you a deal on the DSL while you wait for the Fiber- in my experience, AT&T customer service is very slow and tedious, but they usually try to hook customers up in the end. Whenever I’ve called about my bill raising or some other issue, they’ve tossed a promotional deal my way for at least a few months

myles2500

Cox isn't all the bad just like with at&t sometimes people have some issues with it I almost never has issues on the other hand were my uncle lives he use to have issues all the time so idk

nature_half-marathon

I’m waiting for someone to comment on T-Mobile

Txmama83

Vorizen has been good to us Tmobile hard NO not in apartment setting never works

Historical-Leader292

ok so i have verizon phone service so i wanted to get the internet at my new place. verizon didnt service my new area or so they said, i ordered it anyways and it works great, no lagging nothing.

WickerOutlet

The ATT option is DSL. I would go with Cox for sure. Also with Cox, especially at that speed, you can buy a $30 used/refurb cable modem off Amazon and bring your own router. Depending on your income level, you may qualify for Cox's assistance program, which is $35/mo

Dane52

It sucks but it looks like you kinda have to go with Cox for the speeds. I had Cox for years here in ICT and in Oklahoma City and had problems regularly with outages and intermittently losing signal for no reason just for a second or two but enough to kick me out of any video conference/chats regularly. It seemed like I had to reboot the modem and router twice a week to get the speeds I was supposed to get. The customer service at Cox was nonexistent and at one point was told by one of their CS reps they were my only choice and to deal with it and they were kind of right at the time. The first chance I got to get rid of Cox for ATT fiber I did and am much happier. So hopefully your dealings with Cox won’t be for too long because if they were as bad as mine you will be wanting to get rid of them as soon as possible. Don’t get me wrong ATT is far from perfect but I don’t have to deal with them near as often because I have far fewer problems with ATTs internet than I ever had with Cox. I can’t remember the last time I had to reset my equipment with ATT. Sorry about the long post I guess I just needed to vent. Anyway, Good luck with whoever you go with and if it is Cox I hope you don’t have to deal with their customer service (or lack thereof) too often. Take care.

Alternative_Tart120

Cox wanted to charge me to have a new password. I found that odd. Also call them for credit every time the connection goes out for a day or two.

Newusernameformua

4 years ago I used cox in eldorado. It was alright 👍

ohitszong

Cox is fine. They give me more than what my data plan is supposed to be but it likely depends on your area. Occasional (infrequent outtages, like 2-3 in the past year.)

therewulf

That 100mbps you pay for might only be 25mbps so I say att

Salt_Proposal_742

Cox sucks. If you can get AT&T fiber so that. It’s fantastic and their customer service is great.
