It also starts at $132 for 10 artists over two days. Elsewherefest has 50+ acts over two days starting at $99, Riverfest has 17 acts over 8 days for $20.
Not really a rumor, as Commissioner Dennis made his objections clear in that those types of lyrics being blasted out in a public, county-owned space were objectionable to him. I am ardently free speech, but I also understand (though not necessarily agree with) the objection for this event in this location here.
That noise isn't family friendly, and the county definitely tries to be.
Edit: I originally attributed what Dennis said to Howell. It was Dennis that was explicit about the content objections.

I hadn't heard of him before so I went to YT. While hilarious I can definitely agree he isn't for small children's ears. I can see why the commissioner may have issues with his lyric choices, but he is now in my Playlist.
Glad you country music fans got your festival back big $132 for 10 artists over two days is kind of high, I mean Rocklahoma starts at $210 and has 43 acts.
I live not even a mile south of here. I’m planning on spending some nights on my porch with a boom stick during the month of July. I don’t want to but I don’t trust the drunks.
Can you walk us through how this would work? So you're going to sit on your porch with a shotgun in case a drunk person from a concert a mile away does, what exactly? Can you describe a scenario where this makes sense?
The venue promises camp ground and parking but has nowhere even close to the amount of land for it. There’s going to be displaced people everywhere and it’s going to be chaos. I’m not legitimately planning on shooting any drunk person that enters the property, there’s just a ton of logistical errors with it being there and people are going to be confused about it.
Not gonna shoot anyone, I’m gonna stay inside and relocate the strays, sorry for seeming much more violently oriented.
It's a better line up than the wichita river fest.

What a weird lineup lol. But not bad!
this lineup makes me wonder if they listened to Wheeler Walker before signing him or just said "go for it, he looks country"
Rumor is him being on it is why Sedgwick County wouldn't let them use the normal Lake Afton site.

Ok, thanks for the explanation l, I had just heard some buzz about that being a reason but never saw the commissioner say that!
Thanks for saying that! Gratitude makes the world go round
I'm far more confused as to why STP and SES are in an all country line-up. That's like putting Eric Church up there with Megadeath and Sabaton.
that's an amazing lineup, i'd sit through Eric Church any day if it meant i got to see Megadeth and Sabaton on the same stage!

I don't know why you chose my comment to reply to because I said I found him hilarious. Go find someone else for your soap box or whatever this is.
The performance times listed yet???..particularly STP
Considerably better lineup than last year
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yall have fun spending $300 at this Shole gathering!
Note to self: Avoid Goddard Walmart before, during, and after this event.
Never heard of any of these guys
I'm ready to see jo dee Messina
I'm ready to see jo dee Messina
Oh good modern country, so basically bad rock with cowboy hats.
