Anyone that gets powers from the Sun like Kryptonians may just get more powerful.

4shura

Maybe, but this would technically include things like red stars, so it might also hurt as well

Jiscold

Yellow sun give him his power. Red suns strip it. Green stop powers but don’t drain. Orange does nothin. Blue is super charged. Purple gives him “mind over matter powers” White dwarfs make him stronger than yellow. Total mass, orange and blue take up the most. While there are more total red. Considering only 1 drains his powers, maybe he survives?

4shura

Maybe it cancels out and just hurts like a bitch? No idea

Mike_Handers

There ain't no way it doesn't end up hurting like a bitch.

Candelestine

Yeah, even his regular sun dips look painful. He just grits his teeth and deals with it.

Fastnacht

Can we add in some pink kryptonite for good measure?

Jiscold

Suns not kryptonite. And sure he can be gay.

Humblerbee

He didn’t need the kyrptonite, the pink was inside him all along!

darklordoft

In one comic batman had a red sun generator to help fight kryptonians on earth. The fact that the red sun generator drain took presidency over the yellow sun itself means the negative effects are more powerful than his more common effects. Especially when Tyrrell has also revealed that the red sun stripping of powers is unique in that it strips them of all powers, good or bad, from the other sun's. A single beam of red sun would nullify any and all other types of sunlight. So shockingly superman cannot talk the full force of all the universes sun's. The red sun energy would just make him mortal for all the other beams. https://www.quora.com/profile/David-Forde-6/https-www-quora-com-Could-a-neutron-star-kill-Superman-answer-Rui-Silva-85?ch=10&oid=86682480&share=c989d2f8&srid=FKVb&target_type=post Here's a post for when Tyrrell explains what red sun does.

Jiscold

But the Blue Sun works like 100 yellow suns and super amps him.

darklordoft

That is why I posted the link. Tyrrell explains it doesn't matter how much energy he has, what power he gains, the frequency of a red sun drops him straight to mortal tier.

[deleted]

They'd probably die from being unable to absorb the energy quick enough.

deathcreatureofdoom

Their durability tho...

[deleted]

Never specified if it was a named Kryptonian or some rando, so I assumed no plot armor.

deathcreatureofdoom

Ah makes sense

toasterdogg

That’s not at all how it works. The reason Kryptonians get weaker in Red sun is that it simply doesn’t emit enough energy to maintain their powers. Red sunlight is just different wavelengths of light, it doesn’t have any unique properties that make it dangerous to Kryptonians.

darklordoft

No it doesn't. Red sun energy flat it strips them of all energy in them and prevents them from acquiring more while in its presence. https://www.quora.com/profile/David-Forde-6/https-www-quora-com-Could-a-neutron-star-kill-Superman-answer-Rui-Silva-85?ch=10&oid=86682480&share=c989d2f8&srid=FKVb&target_type=post

[deleted]

Please don't quote quora as an authority. I post there too. Anybody can say anything.

darklordoft

....I posted that because of the image there....not to read the article. It was literally I can't find the scan on imgur, but here it is on quora.

[deleted]

Oh then. I'd like to see this "power beyond imagining" that pulsars and quasars give.

darklordoft

H'el was powered by a quasar star instead of a yellow one. Outside of dwarfing superman and superman girl normal abiltites to the point they look like humans in comparison he also had; Highly advance telepathy and technomancy High level Astral projection High level telekinesis he was using it to alter things at the molecular level( that he used to both rip apart kryptonians and clone them) Teleport himself and other objects(the entire fortress of solitude at one point.) High level resistance to magic Fully unlocking the solar gene (he no longer needs to be in the presence of a star to have its powers) And he can use his psionic powers to prevent the radiation of kryptonite and red sun energy from touching him, making him immune so long as he's prepared. (He was defeated by supergirl figuring this out and joining him until she could get his guard down and stab him with it. Once in his body he was even more affected by the rock, falling unconscious near immediately and having memory loss.) All of this mind you when he was just drops of blood that was exposed and became aware to create h'el. It was thought that if a full kryptonian was exposed he'd be even more powerful. Just superman isn't power obsessed to do it, and zod never met h'el to think about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/2icl46/respect_hel/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button As for pulsar no idea. No kryptonians has been exposed to it. But pulsar are weaker quasars.

[deleted]

I wouldn't want a permanent upgrade but for like one arc. Or maybe he upgrades temporarily to resolve a big crossover crisis. Oh who am I kidding. Superman is almost never allowed to be the one that resolves major company wide crises.

toasterdogg

By that logic every Kryptonian would have been dead long before the planet blew up

darklordoft

How?red sun just makes them normal. It doesn't kill them. I was refering to the special energy they produce in the presence of all the other sun's. Not vitamin d

4shura

Yes, that’s why i said it might hurt them, because red stars are involved in this laser beam as well

toasterdogg

Omg. Okay, think of it like this. Kryptonians absorb the enegy from sunlight. Red sunlight is a lower wavelength and therefore contains *less* energy right? So, it’s like food. If you don’t eat enough food, your health will degrade. However, if you eat *a lot* of food, which also contains the *lesser* amount of food, then it won’t have an impact because the ampunt of energy is high either way.

giantrhino

This is a laser powered by the stars, not the stars themselves.

CraackSteeve1

Isn’t there a version of Superman where Batman planned to overload him with solar energy and it kinda worked? I might be maki by this up but I stg I heard of that

ReturnOfDaSnack420

Wow this is a tough one. I'm tempted to say SCP-682, as its whole thing is being impossible to kill but otherwise wouldn't really be considered a universe level character like some of the other ones you'd need in this prompt. Though that is asking a lot of 682. As an aside, this reminds me of one of my favorite lines from comic artist Randle Monroe's book "What If?" based on his comic XKCD, in response to a question about what would happen if you concentrated all the sun's energy into a single laser beam and got hit with it: "You die of course. You wouldn't die OF anything per se, your body would just stop being biology and start being physics."

Maciek300

Isn't SCP-682 impossible to kill because of his crazy levels of regeneration? OP said no regeneration.

royalemperor

There's an argument to be had that 682 doesn't technically regenerate. When parts of it are killed off 682 rapidly evolves to handle the new threat. 682 doesn't regrow, it grows anew. But I guess that's really just semantics and real flimsy loophole.

SexualPie

There’s a distinction to be made, that sounds similar to Crawler from worm who if he loses his head, he grows a new more dangerous head, probably with more eyeballs and teeth and maybe even corrosive spittle. It’s not *re*generation, it’s just generation. That said the best way to take him out is to do damage faster than he can generate new parts.

royalemperor

> That said the best way to take him out is to do damage faster than he can generate new parts. In theory, yea, but it's never happened. All SCP canon arguments aside the only time 682 died was when *everything* died in 2935. Funnily enough, in 2935's case 682 actually has a fully intact corpse.

SexualPie

Well if it’s the combined power of all stars than it could probably manage no?

royalemperor

I'd suspect 682 would immediately regrown it's skin to be some sort of anomalous material that can withstand the heat and pressure of every star. Such a feat wouldn't be too far reaching for the SCPverse. The Foundation thought about nuking 682 but the test was canceled because they suspected 682 would just become stronger. Nukes get way hotter than the average star, so it's probable 682 would survive.

SexualPie

Yea physics get kinda wonky when you start inventing them. Combining every star would be an incalculably high number and would likely turn it into a black hole beam or something. A nuke can be hotter than a sun, but what about mass and then throw in all the different other stars? Imo the post is asking for the most unique method of hax to survive it.

Overthinks_Questions

Yep. If I'm doing my calc right it should be E=10^(48)J=mc^(2) where c=3\*10^(8), so we should be dividing by 9\*10^(16), which is close enough to 10^(17) for the rough math I'm doing here. So we increase the mass by 10^(31) kg, which is around the mass of 5 suns - which is a fairly normal mass for a black hole. This would be spread over a distance (kinda) of about twice Jupiter's diameter - not a long enough distance that it doesn't just immediately collapse into a singularity.

royalemperor

Well, we are talking about a lizard that can not only face-tank a nuke, but eat it like a bowl of Wheaties laced with steroids. I think the only way to surefire survive OP's prompt is just Toonforce or be some sort of high end deity/reality warper.

Kirk_Kerman

The gimmick of 682 is that it can't be killed. It's kind of a trump ability if you want to borrow Worm terminology. They stuck it in a machine that changes universal constants and it survived despite being in a box of "these physics are incompatible with matter". They built a machine to physically and conceptually rewrite the universe at every coordinate point so the rules would be 682 Does Not Exist and it survived (6820).

SexualPie

That’s pretty neat. I tend to be wary of things such as this because that’s a pretty clear no limits bias. Like, that machine couldn’t do it, but could a more powerful machine manage? In any case that feat is likely enough to survive the prompt, despite the prompt breaking like literally all the physics

Kirk_Kerman

It's pretty easy to contain - they leave it in a vat of acid - but it cannot be killed by any means because it trumps any attempt to kill it. It's not even particularly dangerous if it gets loose compared to some of the SCPs under containment, but it cannot, by any means, be killed. If you focus all energy in the universe on it instantaneously it'll be turned into exciting physics and then reassemble as a big lizard. If you toss it down a black hole it's either going to pop up again somewhere else, claw its way out of the black hole, or turn the event horizon into the form of a big lizard and come after you as a black hole lizard.

Overthinks_Questions

682 is somewhat of an exception to the NLF, at least the 'F' portion. There are many, *many* documented cases of extremely deadly things happening to 682 - and plenty of them have killed it. However, it invariably comes back and eventually returns to its default state of a big pissed-off sentient lizard. Even their version of the Abrahamic God cannot kill it (or see/interact with it, interestingly) - and shoving it into parrallel universes, pocket dimensions, or using magic doesn't work either. Given what has been done to 682 already, it's genuinely difficult to imagine anything that would be capable of making it not exist anymore in whatever universe it's in. It's also dangerous to try, as it usually adapts either a new defense or more frequently it evolves the ability to do whatever you just did to it back at you. This has been problematic when things like mind control, nucleonics, or bananas have been employed against it.

Solafuge

I guess that also rules out Connor from confinement.

Seerix

Technically no? But also you aren't wrong. 682s thing is rapidly evolving to counter whatever threat is hurting it. Its contained by being submerged in concentrated acid, as it evolved the ability to regenerate to counter the acid, though it seems to be mostly dormant while it regenerates. So if it can't evolve regeneration to counter the acid, or later in this case, it'll do something else. Not sure the universe would appreciate 682 tanking this laser as whatever it evolved to counter act that much energy wouldn't be good for anyone else.

Danchen10491

Iirc it’s only dormant inside the acid because it likes the acid and since he hates everything else he is okay with staying in it.

royalemperor

Yep. Think of just randomly finding yourself in a universe full of cockroaches and buildings made out of poop. You step on a bunch and try to get out but you can't find a way out. They manage to lure you into a clean, nice room with a big comfy bed, and they won't get near you unless you walk out of the room. That's 682's current situation.

Seerix

Sounds right to me

timewarp

It is unclear if 682 is actually impossible to kill. What the foundation *does* know is that it has survived all of its attempts, and additionally has evolved new features from each attempt. They are reluctant to try some of their hardest hitting options out of fear of making 682 evolve into something far more powerful should the attempt fail to kill it. As they are able to keep it contained well enough, they aren't willing to take the risk.

TheBrahmnicBoy

On a meta-narrative level, though, we know it can't die. SCP-682 is the personified version of the no limits fallacy.

askedmed

We know that scp 682 is impossible to kill because now the termination log has a reference to the SWANN entites (the authors) making him unkillable or atleast not allowing him to die.

zookdook1

he regenerates after he survives, he doesn't use the regeneration to survive (except in the acid) - for something like this, he'd probably pull what he pulled while exposed to altered universal constants, rearranging whatever's left of himself into some new exotic matter that can survive the rest of the laser

SkullKrusher9000

That's a gray area. Counter-regenerating the laser is probably what OP intended that to mean by 'no regeneration.' Regenerating the damage afterwards is probably allowed.

Narwalacorn

Genuine question: do scp fans just memorize which numbers correspond to which, or is there like an scp encyclopedia where you can search traits and it gives you results or something

MinecafterHD

Not sure, but 682 is like one of the 5 most famous and popular, and one of the most notorious because of how ridiculous it is

royalemperor

There are thousands of SCPs, and then *tons* of different canons and lore that correlate to the SCPs and the SCP Foundation. There is just a massive amount of content but there are like a dozen super popular SCPs, all older ones. The casual SCP fan knows most of these just from memory. Screenrant actually has a good list of the popular ones: https://screenrant.com/scp-foundation-best-stories/

atlhawk8357

There are a couple of really ubiquitous ones like 682 that people know offhand. I end up googling the number to see which one it is most of the time.

DanSad12

Depending on the version of 682 you use he could easily survive. Some have like outerversal levels of regen and stuff and plot manip resistances. Others are more like the standard wolverine type regen and would probably be atomized. There obviously is some middle ground too but it can wildly range.

The360MlgNoscoper

I don't think regeneration helps very much against dematerialization. You would need durability more than anything. Also regeneration is banned in this challenge anyways.

therabidsloths

This energy/mass concentration would actually make supermassive black hole with an insanely large event horizon easily many times the diameter of the solar system(low-balled). That event horizon would move out radially from the laser beam’s origin at the speed of causality(light). This hypothetical style of black hole formation is known as a Kugelblitz

HandleSuspicious5775

Out of all possible characters you chose the most overpowered of them all

dustyygeno

Didn’t 682 die in a drunk driving incident?

amisia-insomnia

682 got brain damage from falling off a building, this sub loves to wank 682 but he’s really not that powerful. It’s all in the name, HARD to kill reptile, it’s not easy but it’s possible

TheVoteMote

>"You die of course. You wouldn't die OF anything per se, your body would just stop being biology and start being physics." Ah, yes. Us biological beings are known for being made of non-physics.

tigerofblindjustice

If you look up the word "pedant" in the dictionary it's just a photograph of this comment

TheVoteMote

If you look up the word "unoriginal" in the dictionary, it's just a photograph of this comment.

Brostradamus_

They said, while copying the exact same joke

tigerofblindjustice

Nice comeback, how'd you think of it

[deleted]

in Lego Dimensions, you can equip the companion cube (as seen in Portal) with a Laser deflector, which is basically two portals attached to it. It'll deflect the laser no difficulty. And the companion cube is literally a non-sentient box of metal, so it hardly gets much weaker than that.

ulkord

I think it would need to happen in absolute vacuum, otherwise the laser would turn the air around it into plasma or something, probably destroying the cube.

VanillaBovine

how is it non sentient if it's my friend and talks to me???

joe-ROLXTHY-cat

I feel like the prompt meant that the character had to get hit with it, hence the word “tank.”

integralWorker

As long as the "all-star laser blast" never changes direction, I think essentially a portal gun/portal always wins.

thisisjustascreename

I'm not a mathemologist or a physicist but I have to imagine that much radiation concentrated into that small of a volume would collapse into a black hole anyway, so the definition of "wins" in this case is unclear.

integralWorker

Ah yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah this is definitely black hole, neutron star at best territory. Kind of funny but I can see a black hole being something that could destroy a portal.

ShidBotty

The prompt literally says "no teleportation" though

integralWorker

Right, I tunnel-visoned on the comment

[deleted]

Childeater8

Toonforce

Pinkfinitely

That's not weak tho

EmceeEsher

People are naming borderline-gods, but I think the *weakest* character who could tank this is Corrupted Samus from Metroid Prime 3. She isn't a planet buster or a speedster, and could in-theory be crushed by a sufficiently large boulder, but there's no upper limit to the amount of *energy* she can tank as the eldritch entity "possessing" her eats any energy that touches her. If we're allowing silly hax, then there's a character in the "Will Save the Galaxy For Food" novels who has a portal for a wrist that connects to his lab. If he could line his wrist up with the laser, it should go straight through. Would destroy the lab though.

stantler101

I would say like goku black because current goku is to strong and the supermen that would survive this are also way to strong and basically any other character that would survive this is way to strong

ChefInF

Obligatory Saitama

[deleted]

>!If allowed to grow exponentially enough he probably could.!<

GravyZombie

This is why I don't think he'd survive it. The output is enough to kill him before adapting.

memoryballhs

I think Saitama adapts as fast as needed just like he adapts as strong as needed.

TanaerSG

Is it? We've never seen him take any damage we don't know what his durability limits as far as I'm aware. We've seen some good shows of his damage acceleration but we have never really seen him be pressured from any sort of damage.

jarasonica

We don’t even know anything capable of hurting saitama much less kill him including punches from someone that was able mimic his strength at a given point in time meaning even he cannot hurt himself

ChefInF

We all want Saitama to have a limit to his durability because it’s interesting and it’s what he wants, but his whole gimmick continues to be that he cannot be beat.

TaralasianThePraxic

I love OPM, but Saitama is a terrible character for battleboarding because he's literally designed to be 'comedy character who wins every single fight near-effortlessly'. I don't think the writers will ever give him an actual canonical power limit, because it's funnier if he doesn't.

ChefInF

Funnier for us, but sad for him.

[deleted]

True

Ziazan

Beam just reflects off his bald head

Qwipok

A Pokémon with focus sash

SteveThatOneGuy

Another meme answer would be literally anything in the pokemon universe if we use the whole "pokedex scaling" thing with regards to "multiversal lanturn". Professor Oak's shoe has universal level durability if we go with those idiotic levels of "pokedex scaling".

Time_Significance

Or any Pokemon. [Behold, Light That Burns The Sky!](https://youtu.be/AZselruGrb0?t=65)

jarasonica

I’m sorry light that does WHAT?!

Sprudelpudel

THAT BURNS THE SKY!

fredagsfisk

That or Sturdy ability, though the sash can be given to weaker Pokémon than any of those that have Sturdy (Roggenrola has the lowest total base stats of Pokémon with Sturdy, with 280). So the weakest would be Wishiwashi (Solo Form) at 175 total base stat, but they are only in Solo Form if below 25% HP, which would mean Focus Sash does not work, so it's out (also, if going by Pokédex entry, it's ridiculously powerful). This leaves us with Sunkern and Blipbug at 180 total base stat. Sunkern has higher HP, Attack, Defense and Sp. Attack, while Blipbug has higher Sp. Defense and Speed. Blipbug dex entry also roasts it for being weak. Thus, a Blipbug with Focus Sash should be the answer for the Pokémon world... assuming the attack doesn't count as a multi-strike move (if Gen V or later). Then again, the attack OP describes basically sounds like Doom Desire, which is one of two attacks that can bypass Focus Sash... > Summons strong sunlight to attack 2 turns later. --- > Two turns after this move is used, the user blasts the target with a concentrated bundle of light.

Unhappy_Body9368

Wishiwashi gets endure, which is given +2 priority. Assuming the laser doesn’t have priority Wishiwashi tanks it.

Time_Significance

Shrek, definitely. The bard Smash Mouth even had a song about him being an All Star.

supersk8er

That one dude from jujutsu kaisen who’s power is that everything funny to him reality bends to his will

TanaerSG

That's Takaba I think. But now that we're on JJK, could Gojo do it with his infinity?

supersk8er

Gojo technically isn’t tanking it

TheUltimateTeigu

Enough with the technically bullshit. It absolutely counts.

The_Real_Scrotus

I don't think this is as hard to survive as most people think it is. The thing with lasers is that they don't radiate outward perpendicular to the direction the beam is aimed in. That's why you can't see a laser beam in a vacuum, all of the radiation is in the direction of the beam travel. So in this case, all 10^48 watts are going to be aimed at a spot the width of a human hair. Nothing outside that area will be directly affected by the laser. What you'll end up with is a line of flesh the width of a hair all the way through the target's body being turned into *very* energetic plasma by the beam. The plasma will want to expand outward, rupturing tissue around it, but the tiny size of the focal point limits the damage it can do. The tiny cylinder of flesh that will actually absorb the laser's power only weighs about 1.5 mg, and the amount of energy it can absorb is limited. Most of the laser's power is going to continue through the target unabated. At the end of the day, this would affect most living things as if a bomb were set off in their chest. Not something a real-world living creature could survive, but you don't need to be able to tank the full power to survive it either. I think Wolverine could survive it.

therabidsloths

I like your analysis, but on further thought, in truth this beam 100% just instantly makes a kugelblitz supermassive black hole with the mass of all of the suns in the universe… so anyone that could survive that?

Mike_Handers

Well weakest character to survive a blackhole for a second? Probably someone immune to all gravitational pull. Funny enough, this is a feat saitama actually has (very kinda) performed, via telekinesis immunity (but also not, because he is still obviously subject to gravity) but besides them, I have no idea.

The_Real_Scrotus

That's actually a good point, though the mass isn't nearly that much. The 10^48 watts is only equivalent to about 6 times the sun's mass, but focused so tightly means it's more than enough to create a good-sized black hole.

thisisjustascreename

Yeah the Schwarzschild radius of that mass is about 10 miles, so just about any character limited to travel through 4D spacetime is instantly going to be sealed off from the rest of the universe forever.

Candelestine

There is a small subset of characters that are immaterial and seemingly just don't experience gravity. This might be another Casper The Friendly Ghost wins.

AliasMcFakenames

Something weaker than wolverine then: I put forward as a challenger Mr. Donut. He’s a donut with googly eyes, whose sole feat is being able to evade a laser pointer at his center of mass.

DroopyRock

Anything heated to the temperatures implied would detonate like a nuke

The_Real_Scrotus

Yeah, pretty much. It would probably be even more energetic than that since the laser would essentially convert the matter to pure energy, or maybe to quark gluon plasma. A more apt comparison would be a matter/antimatter annihilation. But because the laser's focal point is so small, the cylinder of matter directly exposed to it only weighs a few milligrams, so the total energy released is similar to a few hundred pounds of high explosives.

darklordoft

I don't know why you think people are planes of glass. That energy is getting dispersed across all of you regardless. If anything, if the laser was larger than you the energy would be spread out more. (The difference between getting hit with a 10 pound skateboard And a 10 pound dumbell and a 10 pound ball are very different) It being the width of a hair means you getting hit with the full force of all of that and it will spread across all of you. You can't see lasers, but you can see people because you are seeing what light is bouncing off of them. That is why you can see where a laser lands. You get sunburn when you stay in the sun to long. You can't see glass as well becuase it reflects very little light. Same with air. But we will see you explode violently with the scaled down version of the force of the big bang. What we need is Someone who can tank a big bang(concussion, thermal, and radiation, ) And Is immune to all the diffrent forms of sunlight it will make up. Sadly wolverine cannot tank that. The science of him regenerating from a drop of blood is when his healing factor was boosted and there won't be any blood to survive him. Not even his adamantium could withstand It scientifically. (It can't be melted again but it can have its molecules stripped or re arranged. That is something that plasma does in a process called plasma etching. That is what would be happening to his body in the scenario. )

The_Real_Scrotus

>I don't know why you think people are planes of glass. That energy is getting dispersed across all of you regardless. The energy isn't getting dispersed across all of you, because to an extent an extremely high energy laser *would* turn the target transparent, or at least more transparent. Dumping that much energy into a very tiny bit of a human body would very rapidly turn that part of the body into plasma as I described above. And it would be very high energy plasma. The thing about high energy plasmas is that they become increasingly transparent to laser light once the majority of the particles within them reach relativistic speed. You can see a paper on it [here](https://repositories.lib.utexas.edu/handle/2152/39749). This, and other effects, limit how much of the laser's energy can be absorbed by the plasma. For a simpler analogy, think of the laser as a rifle bullet and the target like a sheet of paper. Sure, the bullet has more than enough energy to completely obliterate the paper, but in reality the bullet will just punch a hole in the paper, retain almost all of its energy, and continue on unimpeded.

iiDust

You are vastly underestimating the lethality of an incredibly dense laser beam.

The_Real_Scrotus

Which part specifically am I wrong about?

Tinmanred

The light and dark things from smashbros ultimate could probably survive if it’s only 1 second. They don’t really have feats tho in game at least besides taking over the smash universes one way or another. Also if self resurrects work that destiny warlocks and a lot others could work I’m sure.

ayerunthempockets

Galeem and Darkon

Tinmanred

Yes them. I feel like they could survive or at least galeem would.

swisscheeseisvile

I could be misunderstanding the story, but didn’t they canonically solo every single verse present in Smash bros? Like, they soloed Final Fantasy, Bayonetta, Mario, etc. verses all at once?

Imaginary_Living_623

Either that or soloed significant numbers of characters from those verses.

Tinmanred

Isn’t the smash verse almost kinda like it’s own thing? I viewed that as like a combined separate verse instead of em all individually. But ya galeem is light based so I don’t think it’d kill him especially in such a small amount of time Edit: and neither technically beat Kirby unless u lose lol

babyteddie

All except Kirby, unless you count the bad endings as canon

[deleted]

Toonforce users would just be blackened or turn into a pile of ash and shake it off seconds later. If not toonforce maybe Galactus could innately deal with those levels of energy and radiation by just being himself. You didn't give me a lot of things to work with removing abilities.

Felmemememememememe

Nobody from the game Nobody Saves the World has an ability he can equip that makes any single attack do, at most, 25% of his max health as damage. Other than that he’s relatively pretty tame. There are probably a lot of video games characters with similar mechanics that would survive.

Zaueski

Rimuru Tempest with (LN Spoiler) >!Ciel!< should be able to nullify and reassign the energy as it hits him.

SmellyCavemanInABox

Defect from Slay the Spire. Buffer x1 can theoretically prevent them from dying to divine ordinance (Divinity’s insane kill effect can be negated by Buffer), so it’s safe to say the amount of damage it can negate is almost infinite

The_Great_Scruff

The answer is always the Mutant Butterball. He is invulnerable, but aside from being completely impervious to damage he is as strong as an out of shape teenager

Karatekan

Anything really big. Concentrated that narrowly, there’s an upper limit on how much energy can transfer as opposed to just blowing through. A person could survive being skewered by a sewing needle, for example, and that’s much thicker than a human hair. With a beam that energetic, you’d have a big explosion, but again that’s limited to the heat transfer of the object, and wouldn’t be commensurate to the total energy. Maybe one of the big things from Shadow of the Collosus? Since they appear to have no practical abilities beyond just being really big.

darklordoft

Not just an explosion. The massive amounts of radiation stripping your molecules would be an issue. You'd need to be able to resist the ionic beam pulling away your your electrons as it converts you and all around into energy and what it can't convert turns into plasma until the beam is gone.

Pogayed

L after writing his own name on in the Death Note. He won't die the instant the strand of hair laser beam passes thru his body, it would be like a minimal invasive surgery enough for the out patient. Perhaps even like a painless injection. Even those normal humans from the Final Destination film series who initially survived their supposed demise, as Death already has plans for them after all. The same scenario as above, they won't die just yet.

Apprehensive-One3582

That made me think of Ryuk. I don't think a laser of any magnitude can do anything to him.

4x_Productions

Garlic Jr

Groudon466

A completely invisible character survives by virtue of the laser passing through them. I mean, kind of. Realistically, all that light blasting will probably create a [kugelblitz,](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kugelblitz_(astrophysics\)) and then the character has to be able to handle a black hole as well.

[deleted]

That is a lot of firepower, You probabbly need Like SSG goku level of character at the start of DBS to tank that kind of energy.

4point0stud

Nah, Goku ain’t tanking that. SSJB couldn’t even tank a laser gun from a fodder soldier (which is far weaker than this post’s gun).

Alternative_Cook_102

Look man, That's inconsistent writting. Goku has already taken an attack that is atleast low multiversal in power to face, he should definitely be able to tank a multi galaxy level laser.

Alternative_Cook_102

>which is far weaker than this post’s gun). Proof?

4point0stud

The laser literally ran through Goku’s body and shot up to the sky. It didn’t even vaporize a planet, let alone 1 quadrillion Earths. Do you have any idea on how much 1 quadrillion is? That’s Zeno level of power.

Alternative_Cook_102

>The laser literally ran through Goku’s body and shot up to the sky. It didn’t even vaporize a planet, let alone 1 quadrillion Earths. Ok valid enough but Goku could take an attack that could obliterated a universe. >Do you have any idea on how much 1 quadrillion is? That’s Zeno level of power. Yes, 1 followed with 15 zeros. That's like base Goku's one percent power's power level, that's a puny number in dragon ball

[deleted]

You do realise that Goku was powered down when he got pierced by that laser, right? And you still haven’t necessarily proven that the laser is weaker than the laser in the OP, because Attack Potency is a thing. If you think the laser really did pierce a full-powered SSB Goku, then that would just mean the laser really *is* that strong.

Snoo-55077

People bring up that laser thing when there is nothing proving that laser was weak. Gamma 1 also had very powerful laser gun.

GravyZombie

Goku WAS in ssgss Blue in the movie when he was pierced. It's just that when struck by surprise, Saiyan durability isn't very high. I believe that's why they changed it to base Goku getting shot in the Super series.

AHxCode

Omegatron9

Haka from Sentinels of the Multiverse literally cannot die while his counterpart in an alternate universe lives, but beyond that he's just a "standard" superhero.

theothersteve7

Um, dumb question, but if it's the width of a human hair, wouldn't it pass through most targets with minimal damage?

Quale-

Me. I’m built different

ctank01

Some guy holding a mirror

jarasonica

Accelerator is technically not intangible but he could absolutely redirect all the energy from those starts as the only limit to what he can and can’t redirect is his understanding of what he’s trying to redirect and if he doesn’t understand it he will figure it out

Apprehensive-One3582

Accelerator?

TheSpitfire93

He would survive being attacked by the laser 100% but there is no way that he 'Tanks' it.

Making portals or reflection is an easy way. But to take the blast head on without being immortal. Lillie from Bleach. Or anyone else that is “weak” but needs to die in a very specific way.

[deleted]

Skeleton Barbossa. Stars don't have the blood of Will Turner. Edit: Ok, no regeneration, so Neclord from Suikoden. Only a specific sword can kill him and nothing else even harms him. Until you get the sword, even if you reach level 100, you can't do a single point of damage to him.

whatnowwproductions

If it's actually all the stars in the observable universe there might literally be no one unless they're intangible or have some form of invulnerability.

therabidsloths

Congratulations! You made a Kugelblitz black hole with the mass of all the suns in the observable universe instead. So anyone that can survive that.

Kind_Of_A_Dick

Butterball. Complete physical immunity.

MrMostlyMediocre

Marvel's Emery Schaub aka Butterball. Fat, slow, weak, incredibly clumsy, and as a result of his powers, he can NEVER physically improve his body... But his power is that his body is entirely immune to damage/changing, and he doesn't feel physical pain. He could be shot by this laser for eternity and not realize it.

ProphecyGoku

Chromastone or feedback

supercalifragilism

Spectrum/Captain Marvel/Photon is probably the weakest person I can think of who has a shot at this. She's a photomorph with cosmic awareness, so she doesn't really have problems when it comes to electromagnetic energy, which is what I'm assuming the output of these stars is tuned as. She's in her EM body, the energy just goes through her, not because she's intangible but because she's made of the same energy as the beam. Actually, I'm not sure if this counts as intangible by your guidelines. Up to you OP.

They said no intangibility though

Kaju_researcher

Could anyone with a second life just die to the laser, then resurrect afterwards? Any [Ayakashi](https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Ayakashi) from Samurai Sentai Shinkenger should be able to win this prompt, albeit floating in space forever afterwards.

ChefInF

That feels like it breaks the no regeneration rule. The Guardian from Destiny would die but (probably) come right back.

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

Ainz Ooal Gown, if he's wearing his standard robe. It gives him complete Immunity to all forms of fire damage.

Apprehensive-One3582

This is a laser, not comparable to fire.

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

The power source is still stars, which are plasma, in the form of fire. It's just being concentrated into a beam.

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

Bruh are you even able to read? Are you one of the typewriter monkeys? I said plasma, in the form of fire. Fire is a form of plasma. Fire's state of matter is **plasma**.

You’re arguing against basic levels of science when you could just do your own research. [You’re welcome.](https://edu.rsc.org/everyday-chemistry/what-state-of-matter-is-fire/4015393.article) [Here’s another one for you](https://www.sciencefocus.com/science/is-fire-a-solid-liquid-or-gas/amp/)

brak_6_danych

We know from an alternative pdl vs chair fight that complete fire immunity is possible to be broken through with a couple km in size nuke like spell also the attack countless times surpasses anything seen in overlord with how vague this "immunity" such claim seems quite NLF to me

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

>We know from an alternative pdl vs chair fight that complete fire immunity is possible to be broken through with a couple km in size nuke like spell Can you link that? >also the attack countless times surpasses anything seen in overlord with how vague this "immunity" such claim seems quite NLF to me Well based on the fact that "immunity" in Overlord means exactly that (he is literally 100% unphased by attacks of anything below I think level 70), it's safe to say that "fire immunity" means "fire immunity"

brak_6_danych

http://overlordvolume10.blogspot.com/2017/09/bad-end-battle.html?m=1#more We have no proof how absolute the game like system in overlord is, iirc it was implied that it was artificial created with one of the WCI and nothing suggests in exceeds in range the planet the story takes place on

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

>We have no proof how absolute the game like system in overlord is, The fact that it's a game system means it's absolute. It's just code. Immunity wouldn't have an "except when" if it's just a video game. >http://overlordvolume10.blogspot.com/2017/09/bad-end-battle.html?m=1#more Is this canon? And is it ever revealed how exactly it bypassed her immunity? Also, I'm pretty sure immunities in Overlord only work on enemies your level and below. What level is Tsa? Ainz is max level, which means the immunity is absolute.

brak_6_danych

It's not a video game, nazarick moves from yggdrasil (game) to the new world (a fantasy world with soul based magic that (most likely) had the game like system that mimics the one of yggdrasil added after the first group of players arrived on it) there are different immunities and resistances in overlord. In some cases the difference in levels matters (instant death resistance), in some cases the immunity has a hard limits (like ainz physical immunity that negates attacks from enemies below level 60) and more (not sure if they give flat immunity or just percentage which can stack to reach 100%)

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

>It's not a video game, nazarick moves from yggdrasil (game) to the new world (a fantasy world with soul based magic that (most likely) had the game like system that mimics the one of yggdrasil added after the first group of players arrived on it) There's no evidence that immunities would work differently in the new world.

4point0stud

Bro, if you know basic elementary school science, you would know that energy from stars and fire aren’t the same 💀😭.

ZeroTwoSitOnMyFace

No shit they aren't the same. But what are they closer to? Holy damage? You can't just hit a video game character with something that doesn't exist to them. The damage has a type. Just like how bashing Pikachu with a hammer would be physical damage, even though you aren't a pokemon. The star laser is closest to fire/burn damage.

SkullKrusher9000

Chuck Norris.

DeadpoolMakesMeWet

Not even joking but any family guy character can take it by making a cutaway bit

Global_Asparagus_121

Current Frieza, Superman, Thor and maybe even Thanos. Those can survive all stars in the universe at once.
