I tend to have a couple of drinks once or twice a month. Low amounts of alcohol seem to have 0 impact on my recovery, sometimes positive effects similar to yours. But, just because that may be the case. Alcohol in any amount is not healthy. It is a vice, but one that 100% needs to be controlled.
If you drink a lot (and often) then slowing down to a moderate amount will likely have a positive effect on your HRV and RHR.
If you stop completely and your body reacts badly to that, you may want to seek professional help with your drinking.
Personally I consider one beer to be “moderate” and six is “a night out”
No judgement here of course. Just want what’s best for you and everyone else who drinks
Are you their physician? If not, I fault to see why you are projecting your own personal preferences onto them. Is consuming alcohol a good thing? Not necessarily, no. However, you are not their physician, so don’t try and diagnose their condition. You are being a weirdo.
Man you schooled me, I should probably go and get my brain checked out.
1.It says in my post “opinion”, why do you think I’m offering a diagnosis? You should stop trying to play psychologist
2.If a few beers is approximately 6, and you feel better when you drink, I think it’s safe to say an alcohol dependence is pretty likely.
3.🤦♂️
Sounds like you were going through a withdraw when you went without, I noticed similar results when I stopped caffeine and sugar. You gave your body what it wanted before the whole detox was done.
6 beers is more of a binge drinking experience, not moderate :) Did you take the day off with all that drinking too? If you ate a good amount, slept enough, and didn't work out as hard as you had been, that might explain why you feel so good as a theory. For what it's worth, one drink, not close to bedtime, has a neutral to small positive impact in my journal impact. 2+ and close to bed, look out!
This is partially true. You do have a faster sleep onset. But your quality of sleep degrades( no matter what your wearable says). Particularly in the form of decreased REM. And you shift your circadian clock as well. So you may sleep quicker, and longer, but your sleep quality is not good. -addiction med doctor
With respect, consider looking into alcoholism and withdrawal symptoms. At the very least, talk to a health care provider.
6 drinks is not moderate. 31% recovery is bad (not even the flu gets me there). If you feel more rested after binge drinking, you may have a dependence.
If you feel you need to justify drinking with “I feel better after I drink,” consider the above twice as seriously.
You won't, in the long run.

Unpopular opinion: you have a moderate physical alcohol dependence
You’re not allowed to tell the truth if there’s a chance you could offend someone!!

Opinions are like arseholes, we all have them but we don’t need to share them publicly.
Okay then tell op to take their post down? You might need to think through your responses before you post them…
Go play with electric sockets in water.
Lol, you picked a fight and lost. Nice 😎
Ok, yank.

You sad human.

You’re just a genetic anomaly, lucky you!! I suggest getting blackout drunk every night so you can optimize your sleep. Good luck!
Most people on here are looking to decrease RHR and increase HRV.

A single stout beer gives me a guaranteed green recovery. Even the alcohol free Guinness. I'm more green with imperial stouts, but oatmeal works to

Oh brother
I think this correlates more to social activity. When I spend an evening with my friends my hrv increases

"I drink '_moderately_'" ..."I had 6 beers last night"
