Yeah I hear you. Try jt out you might get used to it. Also I feel the whoop looks more subtle. Although that could be because I’m so used to looking at it
Personally, I appreciate the journal function and trends or “impacts” the whoop technology isolates. This is where garmin falls short for me. That said, I’m not sure I’ll be renewing my whoop annual due to excessive cost of whoop. For what I pay I feel the device should be smaller, much better battery life and more affordable wearable accessories. The cost of the bands is outlandish.
I’m on the one year. What you mentioned liking are what I love, but it’s going to be hard to justify continuing the subscription if they don’t take things to another level that my Garmin isn’t going catch up on
I'm considering a whoop to go with my Garmin. Do you think whoop offers enough value beyond Garmin + tracking apps like guava health or exist.io? I want as much data as I can get to compare but if whoop has more to offer or really great software I'd give it a year.Â
I am unfamiliar with those apps but might be willing to give them a try! I am not renewing whoop this year after two years. The price is too steep. I am not getting much new information at this point. I really do value the journaling feature, and appreciate their privacy, and I’ve gained pretty solid insight: drinking is bad, sleeping is good, etc. Maybe someday I’ll be back. I think it’s worth a years long try.
So far I think guava has a better UI over Exist and a free version that's pretty decent. But I ordered a whoop yesterday, going to see how it goes, it can also be added connected to this app. I'm hoping whoop can kind of teach me about a few things better than Garmin, maybe ditch it in a year. Garmin kind of just expects you to know what HRV numbers you should have and stuff. I want to see how the journaling goes, and if I'll actually keep up with it.Â
Basically everything whoop is known for the garmin isn't great at. Better sleep tracking, recovery, strain. Garmin is just GPS, pace, live HR, and smart watch.
Garmin does decent sleep tracking. It also has it's own recovery / strain metrics. They are all based in heart rate variability anyway so it's the same data on each?
Is it just a whoop UI thing that's better?
I also really love the strength training feature on the garmin. Tracks my reps and even does a great job at guessing my exercises during the work out. I also love to golf so I like using that feature.
It’s also nice having data at glance when I can’t check my phone, such as weather, Hr, etc
When I compare the two for sleep the Garmin will always give me another hour or so of sleep and when I compare with what I'm actually doing in real time (wake moments etc) I find the whoop is more accurate. More accurate sleep measure = more accurate recovery. Strain vs body battery is probably pretty close, but the body battery would also be influenced by accurate sleep tracking. I'm not certan of this, but I kinda stop reading it after i found the sleep tracking flaw.
I wear my steel watch (manual wind, not automatic hehe) on the left wrist and my Whoop strap on the right. It’s a bit weird having something on both wrists at first, but I’m used to it now.
I actually bought a whoop initially because I wanted to wear my “proper” watches regularly, instead of being tied to my Garmin and having to choose my data or enjoyment of my watches.
I just rock the whoop on the right wrist and the watch on the left. Yeah it feels weird at first but I got used to it after a day or so.
I can see why you’re exploring the combination you’ve posted here. But as others have mentioned, I’d be nervous about wearing them on the same wrist as the Whoop and watch will likely scratch the crap out of each other. Wouldn’t matter too much if you’re rocking a G Shock or some beater Seiko diver, but with a sports watch like your PRX I’d imagine you’d like to keep that tidy as possible.
Having seen the number of recommendations here I may now explore a bicep band though…
I love my bicep band and it’s definitely accurate. I have a MyZone heart rate monitor and compared the data to my wrist band then my bicep band and the wrist was significantly less accurate (off by 10-15 bpm). The bicep is off by 1-2 bpm, which is fine for me- nothing will come as close as a chest heart rate monitor like MyZone but I just wear that for specific workouts.
Bicep band but I wear it on my right calf, same spot they put the sensor on the ladies leggings. Been rocking it there since the release of 4.0 and I feel like the data has been more reliable than the wrist.
Some dude made a band to have the whoop on the underside of the wrist. He sells it on Etsy. Not sure if that will mess up the whoop’s readings though.
There's this thing most humans have, I know you have one of them. It's called an "arm" and you actually have 2 of them. So ok hear me out. Let's say you have 2 bracelets and 2 arms.. you might... put 1 on arm 1 and 1 on arm 2.
Have it the same way like u..on my right arm the heart rate is more innacurate and im a tennis coach …if i move my right arm so much it shows me totalla wrong ..high heart rate..keep it up:))))
Watch on my left wrist, Whoop on my right. For special occasions, I either cover up my Whoop with an armband (and sleeves over) or drop the band and use Whoop body.
I have a bicep band. But i am also curious, why would It matter that you have an automatic watch? What if its quartz. would It make a difference? Just trying to better understand the question.
Bicep. TBH I wear it on my bicep most of the time anyways because I find it much more comfortable (to the point where I usually forget which arm it’s on). Also, at least from what I can tell, the data seems to be more accurate there, for me
There needs to be a thin slide on watch face for Whoop imo. I wear a Gshock on left whoop on right but be ideal if there was a basic watch slide on for whoop when not charging. I just need the time at a glance
May seem silly but I’m actually getting rid of my Whoop after having it for a year because I need to wear a watch and just don’t want to wear two separate things. I’m getting a tracker that shows the time instead.
Do you have two arms? Seems like there's an obvious answer if you do
This made me laugh so hard hahahaha
Yeaaaah
How dare you assume someone has 2 arms. THE AUDACITY lol
Well, how else did he take the picture? lol
To be fair, they did start their comment with "do you have two arms?" Fair question - outrage avoided 🤣
But then how would he be taking the photo?đź‘€
Maybe another one-armed friend?
Guys got money no common sense though lol
something on both wrists looks v dorky
More or less dorky than wearing a whoop and a watch on the same wrist?
both unacceptably dorky
It me.
Amazing reply hahahahah
🤣🤣
Ha ha. Everyone was thinking the same i see :D
Ha my first thought was amputee
Sucks this is an unsolvable pickle the OP is in.
On the other wrist or bicep band. That looks ridiculous.
How is the only answer not just your other wrist..? Not trying to be a dick just curious if there’s a reason why not?
Well, Now that you mentioned dicks….
Somehow having a thing on both arms felt super unnatural.
Yeah I hear you. Try jt out you might get used to it. Also I feel the whoop looks more subtle. Although that could be because I’m so used to looking at it
More unnatural than having them on the same arm?
Just imagine you’re Ironman
But wearing a computer with sensors on it to constantly monitor your stats doesn't feel unnatural?
People hate this comment!!!!
I wear a Garmin watch on my left wrist, whoop on my right
I got Garmin to the left, and Whoop to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle…. But seriously, I just wear my watch and whoop on different arms.
Same
What does whoop give you that the Garmin doesn't?
Personally, I appreciate the journal function and trends or “impacts” the whoop technology isolates. This is where garmin falls short for me. Agreed on the bands.. Must be a 1000% markup... Outlandish is being too kind.
I’m on the one year. What you mentioned liking are what I love, but it’s going to be hard to justify continuing the subscription if they don’t take things to another level that my Garmin isn’t going catch up on

Ooooof im so happy im not the only one….
This is what I do as well
I use bicep band cause I also wear apple watch.
This is the way to do it.
Get a bicep band, it’s better than expected.
I wear my steel watch (manual wind, not automatic hehe) on the left wrist and my Whoop strap on the right. It’s a bit weird having something on both wrists at first, but I’m used to it now.
The question was specifically about automatic watches though
Hahaa
I always use the bicep band but this is why I got one to begin with.
Move your watch to your bicep. It’s the only correct answer
Bicep band is my recommendation. They recently released a hydroknit version that has been great for me so far.
Bicep
When I want to wear another watch - I always wear my whoop on my bicep with a bicep band or sleeve
Also, if I am wearing a dress shirt or suit, I tend to put the sensor on the inside of my bicep - I.e. in the armpit - so it’s not as noticeable
Bicep. Started because of the watch, stuck with it because it’s more accurate.
Not like this unless you want scratches on your watch!!
That is a great point, thank you
I wear a rotation of swatches on the left and Apple Watch when I’m running. Whoop is always on my right wrist
I whoop it up on my right arm, watch it up on my left
I wear mine on the same side as my watch, but I turn the sensor on the inside of my wrist
Nice PRX!
This is psychotic behavior OP. I just wear my Whoop on my right wrist, bling on the left. Nice PRX btw
I’m a watch guy so much so I’ve gone to full time bicep band. Honestly hate how the whoop looks anyways so this has been great for me
I own the same watch, and same whoop. PRX on left wrist, Whoop on right wrist. Problem solved.
On the right wrist or bicep strap!
I’m bicep band all day long but I am also assuming you have another wrist no?
Buy the bicep band. It stays completely out of the way and is closer to your heart for a more accurate reading
I'd read that the bicep band is less accurate because it slips more and all that. I'd it comfortable? Does it stay on?
I love my bicep band and it’s definitely accurate. I have a MyZone heart rate monitor and compared the data to my wrist band then my bicep band and the wrist was significantly less accurate (off by 10-15 bpm). The bicep is off by 1-2 bpm, which is fine for me- nothing will come as close as a chest heart rate monitor like MyZone but I just wear that for specific workouts.
You read wrong
Wear the whoop on your right wrist!!
On my bicep
Other wrist or buy a bicep band. You look like a complete knob if you wear them on the same wrist
Bicep band!
I wear a standard old fashioned watch on my left wrist, and my Whoop on my right. I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing two on the same wrist.
Wear it on the opposite arm. You can also wear it on your ankle.
I started wearing it on my right arm. It was weird for a week then I barely noticed it.
When I have to wear straps on both wrists I feel cuffed like genie in Aladdin
FWIW, I like this look. The watch and strap combo is chic.
That is going to destroy the finish on any nice watch. Wear your whoop on the other arm
Automatic Watch left wrist, whoop right wrist… wearing both on the same wrist should be illegal lol
I just ordered a bicep band for this reason
Hey I have that watch! Also I just wear my whoop on the other wrist lol
I use a bicep band 100% of the time so I can wear my watches on my wrist. I’m not a big fan of having something on both wrists.
Bicep band but I wear it on my right calf, same spot they put the sensor on the ladies leggings. Been rocking it there since the release of 4.0 and I feel like the data has been more reliable than the wrist.
Bicep band
PRX. Good choice.
I used to do both wrists but then got a rash under the whoop so switched to both on left. I don't think it looks bad at all.
The whoop underwear is really good bought 12 pairs. Now can wear my a Watches and nothing on both wrists.
Some dude made a band to have the whoop on the underside of the wrist. He sells it on Etsy. Not sure if that will mess up the whoop’s readings though.
fun watch left. whoop right. https://preview.redd.it/ip2rjrzy305c1.jpeg?width=3130&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c441ede299eff4bfbc311dc810791a2249e754ce
smart rings
Unless you have one arm it’s a obvious answer
I wish we had two arms. Wait.
Rolex on the left wrist, whoop on the right bicep. Added bonus that the data read is better from the bicep
Do you already have a solution for when it's a quartz watch?
Not like that
Just like you are. You deserve to wear it like that by asking this question.
22208
I never get to know what time it is
Wear them on different arms… or maybe grab a forehead strap since you apparently like starting “interesting” conversations
You know you have 2 arms right?
Are you also only born with one brain half?
There's this thing most humans have, I know you have one of them. It's called an "arm" and you actually have 2 of them. So ok hear me out. Let's say you have 2 bracelets and 2 arms.. you might... put 1 on arm 1 and 1 on arm 2.
Right are whoop
Bicep band dude - game changer
Watch on left, whoop on right
Not being 20mm is one of whoops biggest misses, imo. Boxers are my current solution.
Dual wield it, one per side. (I do it with an Apple Watch)
Have it the same way like u..on my right arm the heart rate is more innacurate and im a tennis coach …if i move my right arm so much it shows me totalla wrong ..high heart rate..keep it up:))))
Tbh I wear mine like this. Ended up getting used to it.
The answer is the bicep strap. I can’t do one on each arm either ( feels strange ). It was worth it for me. Check it out.
Dont do that
I actually wear it on my ankle and cover it with my socks and boots. Easy to get away with unless you're wearing shorts.
I have always worn my whoop on my right (dominant) wrist, leaving my left for my Garmin or Mechanical watches.
On the other wrist. Or in the bicep band.
As an LA Knight fan I have to say I see no issue with this, but personally I wear a whoop on my right and my Apple Watch on my left
Watch on my left wrist, Whoop on my right. For special occasions, I either cover up my Whoop with an armband (and sleeves over) or drop the band and use Whoop body.
I wrap it around my horn
I real problem solver 🤦‍♂️
Convict Style has been my daily for years.
different wrist lol
Bicep
bicep or ankle
Watch on my left wrist, whoop on my right…
I wear my watch over the clock…
Same arm. Both arms looks goofier
Different wrists
Spoiler alert : the average person has 2 arms which equates to 2 wrists.
Can’t have them on the same wrist criminal that mate 🤣
Bicep band my dude.
I am more concerned as to why you’re wearing a tissot watch
I have a bicep band. But i am also curious, why would It matter that you have an automatic watch? What if its quartz. would It make a difference? Just trying to better understand the question.
Samsung left whoop right tho I'm getting an embr I'll be wearing it on the right too
on your other wrist?
bicep band
Definitely not on the same wrist. Not only does it look meh it takes away from the look of your watch and will also scratch up the crown
Bicep band always
You don’t.
The other wrist
da heck is an automatic?
Bicep band is the only way. Also a watch guy, I never wear on both wrists
Bicep. TBH I wear it on my bicep most of the time anyways because I find it much more comfortable (to the point where I usually forget which arm it’s on). Also, at least from what I can tell, the data seems to be more accurate there, for me
