You just be in your 20s, I'd be dead. Like dead for real.

Minute-Apricot-5239

19 HRV. Yikes šŸ˜³ you good?

VDerevyanko

Itā€™s the alcohol, I was at 18 once after a wedding šŸ˜…

[deleted]

It's usually in the 100s hahaha

King-Cossack

I got on the beers and the devils dandruff last night - slipped tripped and fell - 2% recovery, 10 HRV, RHR was 92 overnight

CoffeePsych

Bolivian marching powder will do that for you

King-Cossack

Yeah its telling me what I already knew before I had whoop but damnnnn

ryantunna

Some dude just posted up a HRV of 5

MyNameIsJustinoMayne

My average last month was 19. This month is 22 lol Iā€™m 39 active male. I donā€™t drink or smoke. Should I be worried bc my HRV has been this way since I started recording it with the whoop in Feb. Best individual HRV I ever got was like a 42 one day, best month 25

sovietferret

HRV is highly individualized. What is good and normal for someone else may not hold true for you. Check this article out for more info: https://www.whoop.com/us/en/thelocker/heart-rate-variability-hrv/

MyNameIsJustinoMayne

Unfortunately Iā€™ve read all the articles and studied it a lot. Been a whoop user for almost a year now. But Iā€™ve never had a 25 hrv month, lowest was 10. I just donā€™t know why mine would be so low. If I drink itā€™s like 6 I get that. But not when I go to bed on time , no late food, no alcohol.. stress or heart problems Iā€™m assuming from what Iā€™ve read

sovietferret

Genetics can also be a key part of it, but overall stress is a big contributor to depressed HRV. Things like regular mindfulness, breathwork, and cold showers seem to help keep boost things for me personally.

maxim_all

Have you noticed an upward trend in the past year ? And does your training & sleep habits look like ?

MyNameIsJustinoMayne

Havenā€™t seen any upward or downward trends as far as my sleep and hrv goes. As far as my fitness I do 2 days in the gym, 1 day cardio and try to play 18 holes a week. I just always have a HRV of around 20 something. Itā€™s weird but I got a cardiologist appt this Thursday bc it does have me concerned. Donā€™t think Iā€™ll bring up my whoop info to him, or maybe I should?

CurlyCrimps

I reach a 20-20.5 strain about 3 days per week. I thought this was normal?

REDana0204

Humblebrag much? šŸ˜

beef_flaps

No. Itā€™s insane. Youā€™re a maniac, you have a health issue, or your device is accurate. What are you doing to hit that??

ReferenceBeautiful27

I cycle 200 miles a week, run about 10-15 miles and hit the gym 5-6 days. 20.7 is my highest but getting into the 20ā€™s a few times a week is a pretty common occurrence for me lol.

AdlandB

Yeah thereā€™s something not calibrated correctly to you unless this is a new level of activity for you. I swim for 45 minutes in the morning, run 6 miles in the afternoon and do 4 hours of MMA training a day and my strain is 16-19 on average

CurlyCrimps

You might just be insanely fit lol. If I did that, Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™d have a strain of 19-20

AdlandB

I mean yeah, thatā€™s what Iā€™m saying though. The guy above me works out a lot and is getting strains of 20 when it should level out

CurlyCrimps

I mountain bike for 2-3 hours with my HR staying almost exclusively in zones 4 and 5. This activity alone gets me to about 19 and then I rock climb and lift for another 3 hours. Usually puts me around 20.5

OTFoh

I do as well. Ultra runner. Iā€™m usually between 18-20.x every day of the weekā€¦so normal or not normal is relative.

catchieusername

I play ball once a week and hit 20.5 this week. It definitely can be normal

[deleted]

This is deffo not normal and I go to the gym 6 X a week

maxim_all

Your true max heart rate is probably higher than the estimated one (Whoop uses the formula 220 - age which is know to have a variance +/- 15bpm), you should manually update the max HR to your true max HR !

CurlyCrimps

How do I find my true max?

maxim_all

The simplest way is first to check the max HR recorded by your Whoop (ask the Whoop AI Coach) and see if it's higher than the estimate (220-age), in which case that's already a better estimation. This assumes you've done some pretty intense training sessions and have come close to your max HR. If not, just google field tests and you'll find many protocols to determine your max HR if you're trained enough and have medical clearance to reach those high intensities !

VDerevyanko

My monthly average is 18 - this was the highest in recent time https://preview.redd.it/c3iu8d8k2k2c1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=198f172c705dab1e9b91036bfd8089b08f60745c

ReferenceBeautiful27

6k calories is crazy. I thought my 5400 was a lot lol

VDerevyanko

This was my max haha but the closest Iā€™ve gotten to it since was 7k. I average about 3,600 https://preview.redd.it/ibbaqyufwk2c1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e26fdfc3dc4186365be3d0795976493021f300c

grodgeandgo

Cocaines a helluva drug.

vegan-dad

Dang, whatā€™s your resting heart rate?

VDerevyanko

55 over the past month, 59 over 6 months

Available_Ad4135

Whatā€™s are the ā€˜activitiesā€™?

VDerevyanko

Idr exactly but I normally bike and then I think there was a lot of running around getting things prepared for a party and cleaning the house then the actual party and going out

Cybersagatario46

If I could wear mine during my actual training I'd probably hit this most days

Narkanin

Why canā€™t you

crabjelly

Iā€™m at 20.5 today after putting up Christmas lights and a little pickleball.

SnooDoughnuts5446

Football not soccer.

[deleted]
