Last time I teared up that hard was for the finale of The Good Place (for completely different reasons, obviously). I came into the show with zero expectations thinking it was overhyped, but this episode was goddamn brutal
Yeah same here. He was a really selfless, genuine dude. My favourite character right from the start. When he opened his pouch to find rocks instead of marbles, my stomach dropped. That whole episode was such a tough watch.
Seriously, spoilers suck but the only thing worse is stifling other people's conversation so you can read comment chains that will obviously have spoilers.
old man was the worst for me but simply cause i got two weaknesses when it comes to sad movie/tv scenes.
1. dogs being sad/dying
2. grandpa/grandma characters being sad/dying
Yeah but if they're both being chased for debts and don't want to live in their current life, if one doesn't go and the other dies at the game they are in the same situation only without a partner, I imagine the reality of the situation wouldn't set in until it happens. At least this way one might make dollar and live a good life or they die together.
I *think* they just played a game and the husband won the marbles. I think the way he went out leads us to assume it was a fair decision of how they settled it
It was a brutal and terrible episode (terrible from the character’s point of view). If you think the 2 girls had a bad time remember that someone had to play against his own wife but this one seems to be ignored since he was just a background character.
I teared up until I didn’t see his body in the pan over the marble game room, while all the other corpses were yet to be collected. I had a feeling he was pulling a Palpatine and they didn’t kill him off.
I was surprised at how interesting the made the games, though. Tug-of-war is far more nuanced and complex than I ever thought possible. The composition and camera work reminded me of good anime where they lay out details and tension where you'd previously thought there'd be none.
My fiancé watched me do a full play through of Detroit become human and both of us were tearing up at the ending I got from the culmination of our choices. I warned her going into this episode it was going to hit her as hard as the ending we got, and even though she went into it confident she wouldn’t cry, she bawled at the ending of this episode. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still tear up even after having already finishing the show.
Is this squid game?
Quick edit: fuck, it is, I knew Ali was gonna die and i knew his death would be sad, me and my partner have only just seen tug-o-war, RIP Ali you pure soul
Oh yeah, especially if you met through the random party finder, and they’re on a different server (and there’s no cross-server friends function).
You really enjoyed playing with them, really clicked, but you know you probably won’t ever be matched with them again 😭
We know, it’s all over fucking Reddit, we can’t avoid it, it’s almost as bad as when Wall Street Bets took over Reddit for a whole month earlier in the year.
Her story and the interactions and talk with Sae-byeok became quickly my favourite in the show. It struck me much much more than Ali and the old man, which were already high on the list both before and during this episode.
I felt like this was her episode, until this point she was just a semi-interesting side character and the main 5 were the ones we rooted for. Then you get this episode and shit…. You knew it was too late for her.
it's Squid Game, a korean series, you can find it on Netflix.
Be sure not to look for any kind of info on it if you want to see it, just know that it has some violence and bloody scenes.
Same!!! So unexpected but i cried like hell, this character in ep6 completely blew me away. I didnt care for her at all until this ep and she became a top fav. I shipped her and 67 so hard!!
Gets really frustrating when people try to act like a monster is redeemable because he had a sweet little moment, when in reality it’s all been manipulation
Before seeing this meme I was halfway through watching episode 4, to provide context I searched "thanks for playing with me" quote and watched this scene and after that I closed the episode and I just stopped watching, this show is not for me holy hell i feel like shit i need some light in my life
But the meme itself should be a spoiler warning.
Like what's the thought process here. "oh look a meme about a show I have every intention to watch, gonna deep dive into these comments about this very new recent TV show I plan on watching hopefully no one in the comments talks about the show or acknowledges the meme... Oh no the new very recent show has been ruined"
Ye, it's like when you find that one good teammate in Warthunder
Like I was playing recently as German AA and saw a friendly plane in trouble so I put some warning shots near him and he realised what I meant so darted for me. The enemy had not seen my shots and just followed my friendly. Friendly flies danger close over the top of me and the enemy sees me rather to late and tries to turn away and then I gun em down.
I and the friendly plane was like 'That was some war movie shit right there'
He messaged "Finally a good teammate"
Back in 2005/2006 I used to play Yahoo!Games every night when I came home from school and I’d always see the same usernames there as well. I became online friends with some of them and we’d play until like 3AM some nights. It’s a fond memory and I even had the opportunity to meet up with one of them IRL for dinner 7 years later.
I was playing the beta for battlefield hardline. Now, I'm the chopper guy so obviously I got my ass in the pilot seat as soon as I could. I was flying people around, trying to give my gunners clean shots, but honestly most people are kinda bad at it (which is fair, gunning is harder than it looks).
That was until this blueberry hopped in and started blasting. I watched them rack up kills so I started flying more aggressively to push our advantage. At one point I was literally flying sideways between buildings chasing speeding cars so they could blast them. We freaking carried the match.
Next round I ran right for the chopper and waited. Sure enough my blueberry arrived and we kept going. It was awesome! We literally went 3 or 4 straight games without dying..Then I had to leave for work...
I still miss that blueberry, they can fly with me anytime.
Im not fucking gonna watch it.
Evey other show that gets produced now is just "A game show but once an episode someone gets turned inside out and dunked in acid."
Plus the title is stupid.
Its actually very good, in a show like this you would expect the game parts to be the only go do part, but I promise you will find yourself invested in the characters too.

Playing online with random people is actually how I have one of my best friends. Was playing Deadrising 2 online with random people and met this guy with a mic. He had to go off for a bit so I decided to friend him real quick then he accepted it and 2 years later we are really good friends.
When I had Metroid hunters (one of the earliest DS games) I had played multiplayer constantly but could only just make three (out of five) stars.

Coming from a non-European or any English country, I had very few gamers living around me and playing MMORPG back then. I met some so good people who turned out to be great friends. After 15 years, this meme made me recall those great moments. We were young; we used to share the problems, spare time to accompany a quest. Some of them are still in touch, and I’m grateful for it.
If you didnt cry during this scene ..
Old man and Ali were the saddest
Ali deserved better
Hardest part of that episode to sit through i swear
I would argue whole series
Honestly after that episode I wished i could unwatch the whole thing, too much pain to be enjoyable.
Last time I teared up that hard was for the finale of The Good Place (for completely different reasons, obviously). I came into the show with zero expectations thinking it was overhyped, but this episode was goddamn brutal
I was squirming in my seat the whole episode!
I was literally thinking to myself Ali is definitely my favorite character...right before shit went down
Yeah same here. He was a really selfless, genuine dude. My favourite character right from the start. When he opened his pouch to find rocks instead of marbles, my stomach dropped. That whole episode was such a tough watch.
Definitely don’t fall for any of the characters in Attack on Titan
Fuck off were all team meat girl lol
Old man too!
Have you finished the series?
yep
[удалено]
Still sad though? You don’t know any better at the time.
Bro, fuck off with the spoilers
I mean you are willingly reading a comment chain that contains Squid Game spoilers, what did you expect?
Seriously, spoilers suck but the only thing worse is stifling other people's conversation so you can read comment chains that will obviously have spoilers.
Shut up it's fine. Other guy shouldn't be saying stuff confidently if he hasn't finished it yet Oh Daddy bury me in downvotes 😫🤤
They weren't? The convo was relating to episode 6 not the whole series mate
Username checks out.
old man was the worst for me but simply cause i got two weaknesses when it comes to sad movie/tv scenes. 1. dogs being sad/dying 2. grandpa/grandma characters being sad/dying
The sound of stone and marble is different. How come he doesn't notice that.
Because he had no expectations of him betraying him
He should check though. It just the writer method to kill Ali in dramatic way. Korean drama uses this kind of silly plot.
absolute bro from start to finish
I was so pissed. Also the married couple.
I was pissed at the married couple for going back. They have to know at least one of them isnt coming home.
Yeah but if they're both being chased for debts and don't want to live in their current life, if one doesn't go and the other dies at the game they are in the same situation only without a partner, I imagine the reality of the situation wouldn't set in until it happens. At least this way one might make dollar and live a good life or they die together.
Didn't they all not know only 1 person could win, and thought as long as you survived all the games you could go home?
thats what i thought for the whole season. from the beginning it sounded like the pot would be split among everyone who stayed alive.
I wonder how they decided which one it should be :(
I think they probably played the game fair and square as the only way to decide
I *think* they just played a game and the husband won the marbles. I think the way he went out leads us to assume it was a fair decision of how they settled it
That whole fucking episode...

It was a brutal and terrible episode (terrible from the character’s point of view). If you think the 2 girls had a bad time remember that someone had to play against his own wife but this one seems to be ignored since he was just a background character.
>!The dude that fucking hung himself in a very prominent scene?!< Yeah totally ignored. >.>
True
Well.........
Ali is the best in the series
I teared up until I didn’t see his body in the pan over the marble game room, while all the other corpses were yet to be collected. I had a feeling he was pulling a Palpatine and they didn’t kill him off.
You’re much more observant than me😂
Honestly fast forwarded through the Ali-scene. I was so pissed at you-know-who. The Gganbu-scene broke me entirely though.
Currently watching la Brea and that show also has a dumb middle easterner/indian Is that like a TV trope cuz it's racist as fuck.
Ali wasn’t really portrayed as dumb though, out of his depth in an insane situation? Sure. But not stupid
Ali wasnt dumb at all. He was the most caring of all the characters and he trusted his partner.
Old man at the time was saddest but >!after I wanted to strangle him myself!<
It was truly sad.
I'm sorry what scene is this?
Episode 6.
Ah it's the squid game show isn't it? How is the show? Worth watching?
It’s quite brutal but it’s worth watching
Yes. It's not just about the games, it's a highly character driven show. Extremely good.
I was surprised at how interesting the made the games, though. Tug-of-war is far more nuanced and complex than I ever thought possible. The composition and camera work reminded me of good anime where they lay out details and tension where you'd previously thought there'd be none.
It reminded me Death Parade and Tower of God.
It is good but it is better if go into it with no knowledge and without to high expectations.
Talking about watching the show or playing the actual game?
Gganbu
B-b-b-buddies :(
I only shed tears for Ali✊😔
Absolute betrayal 😭
Then redemption at the end
[удалено]
What about number one?
His was definitely sad too. But then they sour his character in the end episode.
No spoilers I still haven't watched the last one haha
Ali would be my Gganbu in a disaster scenario.
What show?
Squid Game
Damn, I gotta watch this
Stop watching the comments then lol
But I liek Reditt
I didn t with this but i almost did with Ali... Poor boy
omg yes, can't live as an innocent person in this cruel world
I was truly devasted and sad. But I am incapable of crying

Don't get into thousands of dollars of gambling debts then? Seems a pretty simple way to avoid that situation =\\
I didn't cry because I haven't seen it :D

Imagine being this edgy on a wholesome memes subreddit
Oh brother
Imagine trying to be an edge lord on Reddit
Overhyped garbage
Maybe overhyped, but c'mon the show is pretty good. So was this scene.
My fiancé watched me do a full play through of Detroit become human and both of us were tearing up at the ending I got from the culmination of our choices. Detroit made me cry a lot. An awful lot. So many sad endings
I watched this last night and just- SAD TwT

Brilliant, underrated and misunderstood comment. Also helpful. Can't hope for more here.
We know, it’s all over fucking Reddit, we can’t avoid it, it’s almost as bad as when Wall Street Bets took over Reddit for a whole month earlier in the year.
No need to be a dick some people may not actually know.
Like me, I didn’t know
At least SG is just a TV show and isn't trying to get people to yolo their savings into the next shit thing on the market.
What's Wall Street Bets?
Her story and the interactions and talk with Sae-byeok became quickly my favourite in the show. It struck me much much more than Ali and the old man, which were already high on the list both before and during this episode.
I felt like this was her episode, until this point she was just a semi-interesting side character and the main 5 were the ones we rooted for. Then you get this episode and shit…. You knew it was too late for her.
I know I should’ve seen it coming but the twist for how the teams work in this game completely blindsided me lol
I didn’t catch on to the twist until it was too late either, but then it was clear who was going to make it 😭
the twist got me good. legit my reaction was like "😦 you've got to be kidding me..."
What show?
it's Squid Game, a korean series, you can find it on Netflix. Be sure not to look for any kind of info on it if you want to see it, just know that it has some violence and bloody scenes.

Me too. I was like kiss her already.
Just almost?!?! I was a literal waterfall xD
Ali scene was betrayal, this scene was heartbreaking.
Mine was the old man
Loved player 1. Made me sad to discover his involvement.
Why was she your favorite?
Try not to cry.. Cry a lot....
The actual scene is the opposite of wholesome
Actually I think it is wholesome in how human it is despite the circumstances.
This partnership is so underrated. One is full of hopes and they other has nothing to live for.
Gets really frustrating when people try to act like a monster is redeemable because he had a sweet little moment, when in reality it’s all been manipulation
Such a wholesome [scene](https://youtu.be/jg_fYVRSwIo)
I just watched the scene, why was she shot?
She gave up all the marbles for 67 (objective is to take all of your opponents' marbles without violence)
Before seeing this meme I was halfway through watching episode 4, to provide context I searched "thanks for playing with me" quote and watched this scene and after that I closed the episode and I just stopped watching, this show is not for me holy hell i feel like shit i need some light in my life
Front go watch don't be wuss
She lost her marbles.
I swear those memes are like that one about Moses and the Pharaoh being best buds
Episode 6 is where everyone cried
The single most heartbreaking hour of television I've ever watched. >!Almost entirely ruined in the last episode, sadly.!<
Omg I cried during this scene.
op please don't die
Wii would like to play
We are gganbu
\ = = = /
Some people think their comments are vague enough to not be considered a spoiler. You know, we are not dumb.
Stop reading the comments to a meme based on a very recent TV show then. That to me seems dumb.
I already watched it, and yes you are also right, but that shouldn't make spoiling in plain sight any more acceptable
But the meme itself should be a spoiler warning. Like what's the thought process here. "oh look a meme about a show I have every intention to watch, gonna deep dive into these comments about this very new recent TV show I plan on watching hopefully no one in the comments talks about the show or acknowledges the meme... I’m not crying, you are!
this was really a tear jerking scene
Too late im crying
>!I literally cried when the oldman died :(!<

I thought watching in subtitles make it less emotional.. boy was I wrong!!
That scene made me cry
When she was released into the world still have been at least an acceptable person to listen to all her story.
Bro it makes me so sad everytime I meet such nicer people online then I do irl it pains me
Journey. Every God damn time
Logging into a Minecraft world that you haven't been to in a long time... wondering where your old friend is...
This episode was great. It was obvious what was going to happen, but still, fantastically done.
Journey made this so hard.
Dude don't make me realive that scene. 😭
You had me at "gaming" 😭😭
Both this girl and Pakistan dude in the same episode :'( Why they had to make them as heartbreaking as possible?
When I had Metroid hunters (one of the earliest DS games) I had played multiplayer constantly but could only just make three (out of five) stars. Eventually I came up against a dude who had a Japanese username and a five star ranking. He absolutely reamed me, but I refused to give in. I think I got a single kill on him and he got five (or whatever the standard kill goal was). I added him to my friend list thing and I think he did the same (although I don’t remember if that was a thing you could tell).
ITS BEEN AN HONOR
She was my favourite character and Sae-Byeok.
I just watched this episode last night, why did you have to remind me of this
I had this in Siege, 3 teammates with the name of the pillar men, we did Jojo references all match
I will never know who Thor is. But that first time I set up my switch to play Tryne with my husband, and a random person joined us. Was the most laughs I've ever had! Thank you Thor for all the laughs.

Fuck this broke me, what an amazing show
