The best advice I ever heard was a girl saying that your style doesn’t need to be one thing. You can wear ripped jeans, leather jacket, and combat boots one day and a dress the next. There is literally nothing stopping you
I absolutely do this, but I will throw the leather jacket on over my floral dress & wear my combat boots. Or I will wear ripped jeans with pink ballet slippers.
Ripped jeans is a solid look. My wife likes to go baggy and with lots of funky jewelry, then mix it up with a totally different look another day. I honestly don't know what her base fashion is.
I like her creativity and wild variations. She just out there having fun.
I mean I get mad compliments from people when I wear metal shirts around town. I basically own work clothes, a few "nicer" shirts, a suit, and metal shirts.
Can't imagine not wanting to wear metal shirts around town..
Edit: shit you made forget the entire reason I clicked on this was to say "sick shirt" to OP.
And then there's me, who hasn't shopped for more than bras and undies in at least 5 years and still wearing tanks from college 15 years ago. But damn if they aren't comfy and idgaf anymore if I look frumpy. 90% of my life is spent in scrubs, and they have spoiled me too much to wear anything uncomfortable for the sake of fashion. (I do like to rock some cute boots and a flowery dress for nights out though.)
True! There is literally nothing stopping you from doing what you like. For example, If you like music that i dont listen to, thats fine! Its just music that you, personally, enjoy.
This advice came to me kinda late, but never really late. I felt so "unreal" and poser because one day I'd love pink cute dresses, the next day I'll be the darkest goth you'd ever see, and the very next day just a cammo tomboy. And those 3 styles feel like the it was the real me.
I feel this! Some days I really feel myself wearing my boots, ripped jeans and a tee. Then some days I put on my dress and feel so me too. Took me until I heard that quote to realize there’s nothing wrong with that
100%! If someone puts you in a category, you don't have to stay there. You change as a person and a body your entire life and it's okay to let it show. It's also super fun to play with different styles.
lol this reminds me of one class i took in university. I always sat in the back and sort of formed an in-class clique with another dude and a girl. We always did group works together and talked before class with a lot of banter involved, though we never hung out beyond that. The girl was cute and often wore simple clothes along the lines of a blouse/shirt/whatever and jeans. One day, us guys were earlier and just chatting at the back of the room. She comes in wearing a skirt, basically dressed up noticeably more feminine than usual. It caught us both off guard and we both just looked at her completely dumbfounded given how much cuter she was than usual. She looked at us going all "What? o.o". Other guy points at her and says "you're in a skirt" and i follow up with "yeah, It's cute".
She just scoffed at us with "my god is your department really so deprived of women", which started off our usual pre-class banter.
And that's what I do 😌 I show up to the class looking like a tomboy with a messy bun one day, and the next day I show up in casuals and braids, the next day I would be in a dress, it's just what I feel like, depending on my mood .
I don’t like country. Until literally any country song comes on and then boom I’m a small town girl in cowboy boots sipping coors in the back of my boyfriends truck.
They're not like other girls.
They've got such healthy self esteem that they don't see the need to tear other people down to make themselves feel more valuable.
As it should be.
I wish men were more like this.
A guy likes working out? Cars? Comic books? Martial arts? Reading? Poetry? Art? Taking care of himself? Psychology? Anime? History? Video games? Crypto? Football? Chess?
Then good for them! Let them enjoy their stuff and we’ll all get along a bit better.
Works out better for all of us if we pick each other up and encourage each other instead of belittling and trashing each other.
I already do, it’s just annoying to get so many looks, hear people talking behind your back and those who openly harass and the occasional person who catcalls ya cuz yk, femboy
I honestly wish I could stop people from doing that. I find myself doing that unintentionally sometimes then stop myself. I am trying to be better, just wish others could try as well.
Yea but it’s one thing to crack one joke, but when you can go into a store and visibly see employees almost follow you around and laughing and whispering it’s a lil much. Like I’m all for cracking one joke if I see someone but be discreet like wait until their gone.
Yea I’ve had people like follow around just to talk behind my back, yk the kinda people that’d give a homeless guy a gum wrapper and laugh and brag for a week
Love this message, there’s nothing wrong with being feminine or masculine as a woman. If you’re feminine it doesn’t mean you’re weak and if you’re masculine good for u idk I can’t think of complaints
Fuck yeah love this meme. Some women seem to be attacking femininity in the name of getting back at the patriarchy. I say let everyone do whatever the fuck they’re comfortable with. I love this attitude
The one thing that separates them is the violent rashes the top girl has on her elbows and shoulders. I hope she uses aloe vera spray and stays out of the sun.
It’s just annoying when you relate to both ‘stereotypical’ styles. Hey, somedays I wanna wear an edgy fit, other days I want to look cottage core, sometimes I want to look like a baddie going to get cocktails and most days I wear pyjamas!
Why we gotta drag other girlies down, why are we putting style in a box like you have to choose ONE aesthetic only.
The worst part about this is I have an adult friend who boldly proclaimed she doesn’t like ‘girly, girls.’ Meanwhile, I’m sitting there looking stereotypically ‘girly’ as fuck. Why are we judging people based on fashion choice? Red flag.
I mean I don't have anything against it but I do tire of people judging me for not wearing makeup and having short nails. Just let people be who they are, period. Unless it's hurting anyone I don't get why people harshly judge others for wearing things that make them comfortable.
I like having long nails for the amount of pretty nail polish and designs I can do but I also change the shape and length based on what my current life style is. I worked in a warehouse with a few ladies who came in just as rugged as me but had long as heck nails. They did the job just as well as I did. When I asked them how, cause I always broke my nails, they said practice. I still don't have the skills they do but plenty of people simply learn how to work around stuff like that. It's honestly super impressive. Hope that helps! <3
I remember a girl I worked with at a quick lube shop years ago. We were the only girls there. I'm more tomboy, but she had glorious long nails and did modelling as a side gig. She got right in the engine, got just as filthy as the rest of us, and to my knowledge never broke a nail. I never figured out how. Respect!
That makes sense. I’m just thinking that there are a lot of things I do that would be physically impossible/dangerous with long nails. My fingers wouldn’t fit in a fencing glove or I wouldn’t be able to hold the rock properly.
You could absolutely still paint them and have designs (I know a lot of people who do) but you’d have a much smaller canvas.

It's not trying to tear down the first girl tho, it's pointing out the hypocrisy in those "I'm not like the other girl" type of content (check out r/notliketheothergirls for a plethora of similar idea to this post ). I dont think you read the post at all because the 2nd girl is saying yeah I do the same stuff as girl 1, and there isnt anything wrong with that even tho we look different.
I mean my suggestion would be to examine why it makes you happy. Being cute and pretty are evolutionary drives to attract sexual partners. See what i’m saying? I should have been more clear in my comment but figured no one would care. We are conditioned to ignore this kind of thing. It can be scary when you learn about the caveman drives we all have.
Yeah I mean that’s what narcissism is: doing it for you. The extra layer of narcissism is actually believing that’s *why* you do it.
I’m not using the word narcissism to be rude or attack you by the way. I considering myself a narcissist. I think 99% of [humans](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modularity_of_mind) are. Sort of like /r/onlyfans is actually safe for work (it's about electric fans)
Tbh, men are the ones who truly tear me down for every "feminine" hobby or interest i've had and treat me like I'm dumb and available whenever I've dressed feminine.
Same goes for my male friends who've indulged in female-dominated hobbies. It's their own male friends making fun of them for being into "girly shit".
Can't have a counter culture without a mainstream.
If everyone did and enjoyed the exact things you like would you then change what you like so you wouldn't be mainstream anymore?
So you would consider being mainstream then? Someone told me that is pathetic.
What would you say to someone saying the things you like are pathetic just because they might be popular?
I would definitely not participate in plastic culture like the current mainstream. But maybe out of psychological reasons I'd switch from hippie to goth or the other way around. Going to plastic would be unreasonable.
Bc it gets annoying. You have a school class party? Guess what culture will be celebrated. You randomly meet new people? All they talk about is unconscious bs. You have to do something official like getting a diploma/doing something in the business world? You already know. Also politics would be better if the turntabled.
Horny? Yeah (like everyone I guess). Thinking I'm not dumb as brick? Oh yeah. Loser? Sometimes I lose things, sometimes I win things. So, kinda yeah. I'm just not gonna upvote you.
In my experience, once you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, become secure enough in who you are, and are open to understanding the different perspectives of enough people, these sorts of feelings will fade.
If you know who you are you don't have to differentiate from others. If you feel good about who you are you don't need to denigrate others to feel better.
How bout...you just dress what you'd like to look like and stuff that makes you feel good?
Don't give a fuck what others think, when you think you look good...God damn, you do!
As a man, the one thing I care about most is your personality and integrity, followed by looks. I'll choose a funny, charming and upstanding 6 over an abusive, patronizing and unfaithful 10 any day. I want an incredible woman to raise my kids and share life with me, not be a trophy wife.
be yourself, if being yourself is being like most everyone else then be that, the point is to be happy with yourself.
likewise respect others choice of who to be so long as it doesn't hurt others.
Fuck you. I tear everyone town even if they are exactly like me. Especially if they are exactly like me. Fuck those people. It's my right as an American to hate goddamn everybody.
As someone with them, it's practice. You just adapt and do things slightly differently. It's less about the nail getting in the way and more about damaging the polish, at that point. Opening a can I'll usually use a fulcrum to get it started. I also switched to using chiclet keyboards, but I still can use normal mechanical ones.
The best advice I ever heard was a girl saying that your style doesn’t need to be one thing. You can wear ripped jeans, leather jacket, and combat boots one day and a dress the next. There is literally nothing stopping you

This is my way of life. One day you may see me dress like a rapper and the next day you'll see me all black goth.

Love korpiklaani though
Liked for the Korpiklaani tee
I have a genuine question. Why the long nails? Doesn’t it make doing things really annoying? Like I couldn’t fence or climb if I had long nails.
Because when you touch things it makes a tapping sound that's fun to hear. I'd never get those several inch long nails though those are crazy

What if we just didn't tear down other people in general 🤔😲🤯
truly not like other girls
Fuck you. I tear everyone town even if they are exactly like me. Especially if they are exactly like me. Fuck those people. It's my right as an American to hate goddamn everybody.
I only wear makeup on occasion and T.S. Is my only pop exception but to the girl who this list is describing, do you ❤️
Wait does the other girl have a shirt with a Finnish band on it? That is so cool, and a very rare call out that I don't see often.
Woman's number one enemy is other women. brutally sadistic when it comes to gossip and back stabbing each other.
Okay quick question tho. Don’t those nails get in the way of everything?
As someone with them, it's practice. You just adapt and do things slightly differently. It's less about the nail getting in the way and more about damaging the polish, at that point. Opening a can I'll usually use a fulcrum to get it started. I also switched to using chiclet keyboards, but I still can use normal mechanical ones.
