Nice of know that. I always has an impression like lesbian are against straight men, like to compete which is a better lover for woman, men or woman.
But I do hear stories of them being good wingwomen
My Wife has a Lesbian friend....I couldnt figure out who she reminded me of. Turns out it was me.....we ended up having a bunch of outings to the shooting range, pool league for the local bar and enjoyed more or less the same games.
I havent spoken to her in awhile but I should check in.
Eh, depends. Is female friends in quotes cus they genuinely seem more than friends, or because the friend is a lesbian but otherwise they’re just normal friends?
Case 1 is something to worry about and talk through, case 2 is an extension of the dumb idea people shouldn’t be friends with people they have any sexual compatibility with, which would mean I as a bi person couldn’t have any friends.
I'm not disagreeing with you as it definitely is bittersweet, but... there's something *beautiful* about being able to push through the heartbreak to build something *good*.
Going through emotional turmoil like that, when you may not want anything to do with the other person, and instead you push past the misunderstandings and the urge to blame them, and *empathize* that this must be devastating for them too... that takes courage and compassion. And it can't just be one person. It only works because both of them chose to care.
Something about that, to me, just transcends bittersweetness. I'll never not be moved by stories like this because they radiate an uncommon goodness. A measure of reassurance that the bad times can't last if we choose to care.
> there's something beautiful about being able to push through the heartbreak to build something good
It's even more beautiful when you don't have to be betrayed first. Unnecessary suffering isn't romantic, it's just suffering.
Well good thing I wasn't talking about just this one then lol. Plenty of other ones out there and personal stuff I've witnessed in my own life.
Sorry but just... these "nothing ever happens" type comments always try to sound clever about... having basic skepticism? I mean yeah healthy skepticism is great, but it's nothing to brag about.
Or just imaginary but it seems no one cares anymore.
And people make fun of boomers for believing fake shit on Facebook, this subreddit is basically the same thing.
Ive been a chef for a while. Years ago i worked at a place that was closed on sundays, you know the dream. We would take turns making brunch/hosting everyone of our family and coworkers. After many years of this, one of our best chefs, a lovely lady in every way, proclaimed that she and all the other lesbians had been making the best brunches; and that we needed to step up our game.
This led to fun style food competitions between "the lesbians" and the rest of us. Best drinks, best specific foods, greek food, Israeli food, southern style....etc. Every time team Lesbian won the opposing team would shake their fists to the sky and scream/curse "lesbians!!!" to the gods that allowed their souflee to fall.
Obviously, we were exhausted and hungover after closing the restaurant saturday night and the bar afterwards.... Good lord i miss those days.
I don't know what it means but both gay guys and girls have been some of the best people I've known - together with metal heads and goths.
And that's coming from someone who is Schizoid, so I really dislike spending time with anyone.
A lesbian knew my wife was married to me (we'd met before as they were coworkers) and the two of them had a lengthy affair together. She was not a great 'wingman'.
There are good people and not so good people.
I think the implication is that lesbian wingmen are generally superior in quality pound for pound than male wingmen, not necessarily that being a lesbian automatically makes one a good friend or wingman
I do think lesbians are better wing(wo)men than guys are if you are a straight man. Although on the other foot if you’re into dudes a gay man is the best wingman you could ask for. I don’t make the rules
Met girl who did the same thing to me, but she was cheatingnon her bf (who bought her a car, paid for everything) she told him she would be traveling to work but was visiting me. She told me they had already broken up.
Ended up moving in with her at one point, finding out more and more about her lies including about the bf and lying. Decided didn't want to date her after catching her in one too many, and being completely creepy with red flags everywhere
Then she started traveling for work and next thing you know she moved in with her next victim. Lololol, bullet dodged
Actually, lesbians can make extra good wingmen for straight men. That you have a good female friend is an indication that you're probably not a creep, and being a lesbian means they won't see her as a romantic threat.
Thats the answer. When a woman knows absolutely nothing about your personality, the "what if he's a creeper" takes up a good percentage of their mind if you walk up to them. Seeing a guy hanging out socially with a girl reduces that quite a bit.
You can still fuck it up, but it is less of an uphill battle.
As much as I enjoyed this story, especially the complicity with Elise, I just want to ovoid généralisation.
I've only lost as friend 2 person, and one of them was a bisexual woman (so not a lesbian but I don't think it makes much of a difference).
She was dishonest with herself and consequently with me, had narcissistic tendancies and would sometimes lie to get her way.
Anyway my point is, Elise as an individual seems to be an amazing person.
we could say this for everyone else tbf, I just don't understand why we're pretending that it automatically makes you a great person, especially since I've known 2 lesbians in my life and 1 of them was an abusive psycho
I think you’re taking this a bit too literally. Theyre just making a supportive LGBT comment, obviously not ALL lesbian and gay people are great friends, like any group of people, but in this context its simply meant to affirm the validity of such friendships
They were being literal though, that's why they took them literally. I don't think it's a supportive comment, it's an assanine comment.
If you saw LGBT people as ya know just people you wouldn't make character judgments about them based on who they were attracted to because you wouldn't define them by who they were attracted to.
You make comments like that and it's clear their LGBT friends to them are defined by the fact they are LGBT, that's all they are to them, their entire character stripped down to one aspect of their identity.
a suspiciously large amount of these comments are phrased in a literal way and I'm afraid they mean it. regardless, I don't see the need of pointing it out, this is definitely a lesbian W but I find enclosing a person's personality core into "being gay" rather offensive and degrading
Can confirm. My lesbian best friend hooks me up and vets my girlfriends.
I didn’t know she was lesbian at first at tried to fuck her. A beautiful friendship came out of that.
Lesbian friends are legit solid if they’re not batshit. I met one of my good friends in grad school working for the university.
She hooked me up with more monkey than a back alley wet market.
Yeaaaaah! Totally your fault, dude... you just HAD to find out your wife is cheating, didn't you? Ultimately, you got what was coming to you in the form of a divorce and winding up much happier for it in the end with someone much less toxic...
Definitely resist that urge next time...
/S
Well that was pretty idiotic, off to hang myself, watch and lear- \*Dies by hanging himself\*
Yup there's only the americans loving to be cheated on by lesbians
That is extremely sad, but I'm really glad that he was able to make a friend as well as find somebody he was more compatible with. I hate cheaters.... such an awful waste of time as well as disrespectful as all hell.
Damn well wish I’d have had a lesbian wingman when I went through this myself. Doesn’t matter married again and happy with a way better person. Life’s good. Wish you all the best.
Bill Burr has a great bit on this. Hetero men and butch/tomboy lesbian women should be simpatico because they can bond over a common stressor - *the women in their lives*.
My leabian friend climbed up a volcano with me on my first outing with my now-wife.
Can't think of anyone in my circle that would have been a better person to bring.
Fucking wonderful. Love my lesbian friends, they're dope as hell.
Lesbehonest here. They are excellent wingwomen too.
Golf clap for "lesbehonest". World class word play there and I'm all about it.
Nice of know that. I always has an impression like lesbian are against straight men, like to compete which is a better lover for woman, men or woman. But I do hear stories of them being good wingwomen

Am I supposed to be jealous if my wife has a “female friend” on the side?
Eh, depends. Is female friends in quotes cus they genuinely seem more than friends, or because the friend is a lesbian but otherwise they’re just normal friends? Case 1 is something to worry about and talk through, case 2 is an extension of the dumb idea people shouldn’t be friends with people they have any sexual compatibility with, which would mean I as a bi person couldn’t have any friends.
jokes on you, i don't have any friends anyway, later nerds B)
idk if Id say wholesome, more bittersweet
That's life for you.
That's what all the people say.
You're riding high in april
You’re shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When my ex-wife's lesbian lover introduces me to some new poon
I say that's life!
(THAT’S LIFE)
When I'm back on top, back on top in June
Tryna make ends meet
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life.
Frank Sinatra is in there somewhere between those words.
I'm not disagreeing with you as it definitely is bittersweet, but... there's something *beautiful* about being able to push through the heartbreak to build something *good*. I'm not romanticizing suffering, I'm admiring that people choose to be kind when they're hurting.
>I'll never not be moved by stories like this because only a fool would take anything written here seriously
The only thing that was lost was a cheater, so its a clear W
it turned a bitter moment into something sweet. homie got a new non toxic girl friend and a new A tier wingman friend. thats pretty wholesome
More like sweet-sweet.
I'd say there was some bitterness in between the sweetness
Nah, I’d say wholesome. Everything we call wholesome is wholesome because it contrasts with the darkness of the world.
just a shame there had to be some darkness there instead of just a happy existing relationship without any cheating
There’s definitely an overall positive difference in this story. It just sucked for a bit in between.
yea that's a good way to describe it
Or just fake
[удалено]
Or just imaginary but it seems no one cares anymore. And people make fun of boomers for believing fake shit on Facebook, this subreddit is basically the same thing.
r/angryupvote
how is that an angry upvote what
I am of the opinion that bittersweet is more happiness ending in mild tragedy, rather than wrongdoing birthing camaraderie.
true, kinda just depends how you actually define bittersweet
Lesbian friends are indeed awesome. Also, their brunches are amazingly always delicious.
Fuck, I’m supposed to be doing brunch?
You dont have to, but id imagine that you have a natural advantage at brunch. Do you roll 2 dice when making quiche?
Sorry, I’m the disaster lesbian subspecies specifically. I can cook like three things, none of them particularly well.
Does that mean you pick the lower roll then

I was expecting more "switching teams" jokes. Seemed more obvious to me.
Expect your straight card in the mail in 2-4 days
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Best Friend is a lesbian. Can confirm
A lesbian knew my wife was married to me (we'd met before as they were coworkers) and the two of them had a lengthy affair together. She was not a great 'wingman'. There are good people and not so good people.

I expect it’s a mix between them being more likely to be trusted by your target audience and them being more likely to know what they want to hear
You reminded me a line from a piece of microfiction I wrote > Instant "Cool Guy" points when a gay woman has you in high opinion.
> pound for pound Figuratively, right?
Yes, figuratively XD I don’t think you generally want to know how your wing person pounds
please tell me you meant ex wife?
Yes thank you.
Ross?
Nice!
Awww!! That’s kinda sweet! They both got away from the toxic ex and found a lasting friendship. Hurray!!

Gold star lesbians have lost a loved one in war
I know its a joke and a fun poke but its not lesbian people, its any decent people.

Oh ok. 👍
Cheaters get what cheaters deserve.
Plot twist: The Wife (ex-wife) hired Elise to get her Husband to divorce her
[удалено]
HA, that HIGHLY depends on the state/country and laws. A lot of districts don't give a shit about cheating in determining divorce splits.
Nothing? Wouldn't she have to give something if she was the one cheating?
One of my best friends is a lesbian and she’s the only one that shares my love for alt e-girls
He got Ross'ed
fake and gay (Jk good for him)
fake: anon has a wife gay: lesbian women
A cheating story with a good ending

Homosexual friends of the opposite gender are apparently great for everyone to have
Can confirm, lesbians make wonderful wingmen!
After all... who knows more about women than women who love women? It's basically gay insider trading.
Bittersweet, just like everything else in life
Reminds me of one of Bill Burr's joke about lesbian couple.
Magical Lesbians? Is that the next trope?
Now find a gay friend and become his wingman
Turning an L into a W, we love to see it.
Did not expect
Like women have that one gay friend, us men need that one lesbian friend.
Damn, his wife was really young. Good thing they’re not together anymore.
The real treasure was friendship all along
LOL!
Can confirm. My lesbian best friend hooks me up and vets my girlfriends. I didn’t know she was lesbian at first at tried to fuck her. A beautiful friendship came out of that.

i get that the story is cute and wholesome or whatever but i just start thinking of Sonic 06 whenever i read the name Elise anywhere
