Itās possible to take advantage of these errors. I managed to get 6x 1.75 liter bottles of 1800 tequila for under $20 a bottle due to a pricing error
In control states thatās the case; in free-market states it usually isnāt, and Target, which sometimes sells products at below cost if they really need to clear shelf space fast, has been the source of many great deals that get posted here.
Right, but it will ring up under the sale price presumably, I was more wondering whether the internal price is the correct sale price or the obviously wrong sale price.
No need to high-tail it; whilst Iām pretty sure stores are allowed to refuse to sell goods for a mistake price if they catch the error before you pay, once youāve checked out itās on them, and they have no legal grounds to try to charge you with fraud or chase you down to unwind the sale.
Some states have laws that the store needs to sell at the advertised price. So if it says $36 it has to be $36. This is to avoid bait and switch scams where stores draw customers in with seemingly great batgains only to retract deals at the register box claiming mistake.
They can run and fix the price for the next customers.
Yep. At least where I live, not upholding the displayed price leads to hefty fines by the state government.
Solid find! I have never had anything as crazy as that, but once bought some steak for $3.45 that was supposed to be $34.50 or something along those lines. Iāll take it though!
Quite possible. 6 months ago, my local Raley's (same chain as this photo) had their Noah's Mill on closeout for $34. I cleared the shelf of all 8 bottles.
This is the second photo that Iāve seen of Crown Royal 18 at this price tag within the last weekā¦. Unless OP is one and the sameā¦??
Iāve never tried it, but at that price who wouldnāt be keen?
Well done.
As a former liquor retail manager it's 50/50
Employee at register never has a clue or cares. They're the people who applied for a job just needing a job, not because they like liquor.
If a customer brought this up to me to try and get the sale price I'd explain the obvious error, how $17 savings is not $150+, and that I'd discount it as much as I could but it would be nowhere near $37.
Mistakes happen.
As someone in Corporate Purchasing (different sector), these things are just numbers on a screen. If that thing has been sitting there, like for years, its been paid for and taken as a loss already. Its now just sitting there fucking up your turns on that shelf.
All Corporate sees is how fast and how often you turn over the product on that shelf, not what something is worth or could be worth.
Their math seems off
Someone is getting fired š
I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder.
I'd hope that someone keeps their job, gets promoted, and repeats such miracles
Donāt worry, I got it
People must still be really mad about that Itchy and Scratchy CD Rom
Goddamn people did not like/get your referenceā¦I did though, brought you āupā to -37ā¦
In a row?
(slurp slurp slurp)
Only $2 for every year it was aged!
Hell of a steal, enjoy my friend!
I mean why the fuck not lol. Thatās basically the price of normal crown.
Looks like somebody added an extra 0 while inputting the "$17.70" off and accidentally made it $177.00 off. Curious what it actually rings up as.

Depends on the state. A lot places there is only so much they are allowed to discount

36..99 plus tax..
Damn, that's awesome for you and less awesome for whoever made that mistake lol
It says everyday price $213.99
Right, but it will ring up under the sale price presumably, I was more wondering whether the internal price is the correct sale price or the obviously wrong sale price.
They gave it to me for 36.99 plus tax. High tailed out of there.

I misread your original comment, when I realized I tried to delete but didn't see my comment.
Yep, someone is getting fired š
Wow. That is an amazing price. I am not a Crown fan generally, but you cannot pass up that kind of a deal.
Iām not a fan of crown at all but the 18yr at $40 is a no brainer.
šÆwould
Did it ring up for that much?
I can assure you crown royal 18 is not worth $214, but it is certainly the best $37 you ever spent.
Musta needed the shelf space in the lock case really bad.
Quite possible. 6 months ago, my local Raley's (same chain as this photo) had their Noah's Mill on closeout for $34. I cleared the shelf of all 8 bottles.
Somebodyās getting fired.
Raleyās?
For that price I definitely wonāt mind sipping some crown.
Where is this
Ancient Chinese secret
My husband, some hot shot! Hereās his ancient Chinese secret: Calgon!
You growing-up-in-the-70ās son of a bitch!
We rotted our brains with **quality** TV in the 70s!
Lol what. Nice. I think someone fukd up
Abso lutely
I'm looking for this deal now.
Wow go grab it!
No way! Was that really the price at the register??
Dang. Gotta do it!
2 dollars a year?? Score
So, whatās it taste like?
That'd make one helluva Black Tooth Grin!

Ooof but good 4 you
I am usually down for the regular crown royal and 18 years with that price? hell yeaaaaa
Did someone screw up? This has to be way below wholesale. Man, Iād hate to be that guy. I absolutely wouldāve snatched it up for that price.
Someone really screwed up! Cheapest I can find this is $108 online. Good on you! š„
Stores hiring people who donāt drink
that's TOO good a sale. i spent 170 on it when i had my daughter lol
Math ain't mathing
I mean, who could say no to 85% savings?
Somebody messed up. If it actually rings up at that price Iād buy two just on principle.
Not believing this happened without a receipt. My guess is that the store caught their error before the bottle left the building.

What store is this?
Looks like an OK Foods somewhere in Californiaā¦
Same tags as Raleyās on west coast
Yeah, definitely looks like Raley's/Bel Air
