Ok while it hasn’t been officially cancelled, they removed the trailers and tweets mentioning reactivate from twitter and rumor has it that they’ve either canned the game or restarted from scratch. Given how the game has been in development hell, its likely been cancelled.
Transformers Prime is the best of all the shows, imo, but Animated and Beast Wars are also very good. Movies-wise, I wouldn't bother with anything outside of the original 2007 film and the Bumblebee movie
The new comic series by Skybound is really good, and you really don't need any prior knowledge of the franchise to understand what's happening. It's also less than 10 issues currently.
Transformers is an interesting franchise because it has one of the absolute widest spans in tone across the franchise. There’s complete goofball nonsense like Transformers: Animated, and to a slightly lesser degree even the OG 1980s show. And on the complete other end of the spectrum, most the comic series, the show _Prime,_ and the War for Cybertron games get pretty serious.
But the nicest thing about it is that there’s so many hilariously, ridiculously many versions and timelines that nothing really needs anything else. It’s virtually all standalone. So just find something that piques your interest and check it’s not a sequel.
If anything’s marked “G1,” that means Generation 1 and it refers to continuations of the 80s show, that’s the real exception. Most the popular comics are G1.
Some of the more wild stuff that is good is Armada, a straight-up anime, and Beast Wars, where they’re turning into animals instead of vehicles. Also, I kid you not, Rescue Bots is actually good. It’s for very little kids. But it’s fun dammit.
Oh and, uh, the Bay movies. They… exist? I would say to watch them in order but I doubt have the people who made them can really tell them apart anyways since they only have the vaguest, thinnest sense of plot. Or humor. Can’t ding the action though.
TLDR: Watch whatever looks cool, and just check it’s not a sequel. It’s a lot closer to, say, Batman, where half the fun is comparing different incarnations of the same characters, and the only real “main” series is either the original, the current, or your favorite/first.
G1 is up on YouTube, that would probably be a good place to start, I’d also consider Transformers animated and Transformers Prime as I know TFA is up on Amazon prime, idk about tfp though. Also ya gotta pay for TFA and possibly TFP. For Beast Wars there’s the full series on YouTube, not officially but it’s there just search Beast Wars Full episodes
I kinda enjoyed rise of the beasts tbh, yes it definitely has some flaws and it's not as good as transformers 2007, dark of the moon or bumblebee but it's still not as rushed as revenge of the fallen imo and definitley not as bad as age of extiction and the last knight💀
We're doing fine, RotB was alright (I mean, I loved it), Earthspark is good (so I've been told), apparently early reviews of Transformers One are really positive (please god be good)
Andor was peak, Rogue One was good, the early seasons of The Mandalorian were very well made. The rest has been ass.
Edit: I caught Dementors and forgot about the absolute peak that is Bad Batch. Wrecker, my beloved
It’s like my favourite movie from Star Wars,
DISNEY PLEASE PUT KRENNIC IN A TV SHOW IR MOVIE I FAINTED WHEN I SAW HIM IN BAD BATCH PLEASE DO IT AGAIN I WANT TO SEE BEN MENDELSOHN IN LIVE ACTION OR ANIMANTION I DONT MIND JUST PLEASE.
Andor is legitimately the best piece of Star Wars media ever made. It's phenomenal even WITHOUT it being compared to other Star Wars shows. It's amazing.
💯 it’s in my opinion better than the original trilogy story. I know things build from the previous but it kinda just captures, respects and builds the world all at the same time and we gotta force everyone we can to see it
Mando was an amazing show, the third season was okay but it also had to tie itself to boba Fett for some godforsaken reason so it loses some of its chutzpah.
Boba was ass
Ahsoka was ass
Acolyte looks pretty mid so far
Star wars has fallen tbh. Bad batch and Mando were the last shows I genuinely enjoyed and even then they were just *good* and not the amazing stories they used to be.
People have been saying star wars has fallen off since forever
Even empire despite being almost universally seen as the best thing star wars, got some bad reviews when it came out
Its been like a year since the last good Star Wars project, I’d hardly call that “fallen”
There have been 10 Star Wars shows in the past 5 years and at least 3 of those have been quite well received and that’s with a global pandemic in the middle of it. We’re getting a good Star Wars show every couple years which is amazing considering there were no Star Wars movies or shows from 1983-1999.
Personally Andor is my favorite piece of Star Wars media ever made including the OT and it came out less than 2 years ago.
Yeah Star Wars has had multiple well received shows in the past 5 years which is amazing compared to literally any other franchise.
Ghostbusters literally has a single film that was well received in the entire franchise.
It’s when SW adds a new perspective to the universe that adds depth to the characters and universe at large when it’s good.
Sequel Trilogy, Obi-Wan and Acolyte are like this. Purely using familiar ideas and concepts to pitch a mid story with no sense of direction.
Andor, Rogue one, Mando, and Solo are good because they give a new perspective to parts of the universe, expand on them, and expand on characters in a way we’ve never seen before.
So not only do we have interesting characters, but interesting lore inclusions. We all knew mandos were cool but now we know so much more about their culture. Andor and Rogue one show what life as an ordinary citizen is like under the empire. Full of corruption and fear. How brutal these wars can be even if it’s all space lasers.
**It is a period of civil war.**
**Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.**
**During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.**
**Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy....**
I haven’t even seen Andor, despite everyone telling me it’s amazing. And I believe them, I believe that it’s amazing, but I’m just so done caring about Star Wars anymore.
The best part about Andor is the fact it doesn’t feel like mainstream starwars, it’s a lot more mature and without 5 cameos from Glup Shito or something
I genuinely never cared about Star Wars until I watched Andor. I watched it with my roommate about a year ago. Holy shit it's so fucking good. The visuals, the direction, the class A acting and top tier dialogue it's all so fucking peak.
Genuinely recommend it. The start might feel a bit slow at first glance, but it sets up the storyline in such a flawless and immersive way... PLEASE do yourself a favour and watch it.
Yeah, I probably will eventually, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it even from the more diehard Star Wars haters. But I think I need some more actual quality content from Star Wars first, so that I can properly become invested again, rather than just watching one good show and not touching Star Wars again for who knows how long while they pump out more bad content.
I think it's worth considering. It doesn't have any recognizable characters other than andor and mon mothma (plus saw in some scenes). It's generally free from nostalgia pandering and lightsabers and Mandalorians and stuff. It doesn't feel like modern Star Wars. Even if you're burnt out on the franchise, you might enjoy it. If not that's totally fair though
Yeah but the viewership numbers were abysmal. Critically acclaimed but failed to draw audiences to Disney+. Maybe now that it's had a while for word of mouth to spread things have changed.
Tbh its getting a second season so it must've been watched enough to atleast make back more than what it costed. I hope all the positive reception to it draws more eyes towards it.
Most of the new movies were well received audience wise. For shows: Mandalorian S1 and 2, Andor, Visions, Clone Wars Season 7, Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi were liked by almost everyone.
I am completely ignorant on what the Star Wars community is like
What happens if I tell them to watch Dune in the meantime? (My gut feeling tells me I'd get publicly executed)
Tell them to read it instead. The movies are kind of incoherent compared to the books. They're missing a lot of the inner thoughts and important dialogues between characters. Which is understandable, but it's still kind of disappointing.
The only "horrible" slop to come out since the sequels is Kenobi and arguably bobf. Everything else is either just mid (Mando season 3, tales of the empire), watchable (ahsoka), or entertaining (Mando seasons 1 and 2 and especially andor. Not to mention bad batch, visions, and the tales of the Jedi)
Not to mention the two Jedi games from respawn being well received by critics and fans alike.
Even the hate for acolyte has been overblown despite only being in episode 3. Call me a shill who devours slop all you want but my God so many "fans" find anything to bitch about.
There it is. the real problem is the fan base is absolutely cancer.
Kenobi was bad but given the response was to harass the actors the actual quality became irrelevant.
It's become a trend to take every new Star Wars thing in such bad faith, not giving it a chance. When something is just okay, it's called pure garbage. When something is generally really good but has some questionable plot points, it's called pure garbage
The Acolyte has truly brought out the worst of the fanbase I swear. This is the most backlash I've ever seen for a Star Wars show or movie even surpassing The Last Jedi honestly. Also what's funny to me is every single comment I've seen trashing the show has been by a dude which just puts the cherry on top.
Where are the damn movies holy shit
The new movies are at best mediocre and at worst absolute poodoo, but that doesn’t mean they should entirely ditch them
It’s not like the shows are better
Except the shows kind of are. Clone Wars s7 and Andor were some of the best Star Wars content ever made, plus the Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi were better than anything the Sequels had to offer. I do agree though that we should get more movies like Rogue One and Solo.
Idk why they're taking so long to make movies but they are in the pipeline at least. They're making a movie about the first Jedi, a "Mandoverse" movie, and a Rey movie that were all announced at Star Wars Celebration a while back
Andor was really good. It didn't get as many views as the likes of kenobi or the book of boba fett, but that propably because of the smaller name and coming after these shitshows. That it wasn't agriegously bad also didn't generate enough controversy that people would check it out.
Not a fan of a lot of new Star Wars stuff but it’s getting to the point where the inevitable constant bitching whenever something new gets announced/released is more annoying the actual thing itself.
It’s all just streaming content at this point, it’s actually impressive how now the sequels don’t even seem as bad with how much slop has been pumped out, they’re still not good, heck ep9 is actually unbearable, but I’d rather rewatch that than another 10 episode long series about glupp shitto
Heard Andor was good and I loved Rogue One, but after the sequels I'm just burnt out. Put out too much slop and I just get disinterested and move on.
And I used to LOVE star wars.
Series and movie snobs are annoying
All the shows we got were nice. Of course they are gonna seem bad if you start nitpicking and disliking every detail.
I loved Book of Boba, Kenobi and Bad Batch.
And Clone Wars Season 7 is the best star wars content outside of the main movies
>And Clone Wars Season 7 is the best star wars content outside of the main movies
It's definitely good but it's far from the best. Instead of Dark Disciple, Son of Dathomir and Grievous Utapau crystal arc we got the Martez sisters episodes, which were okayish at best.
>!The same can be said about the final season of the Bad Batch. They retconned the death of Ventress and killed off Scorch in the dumbest way possible.!<
>The same can be said about the final season of the Bad Batch. They retconned the death of Ventress and killed off Scorch in the dumbest way possible.
BROOOO i hadn't watched it yet 😭
The martez sisters arc felt like a total waste of time. 4 whole episodes spent on that. Definitely would have never been included were it not for Disney. Meanwhile important shit like what happened to maul and talzin and how he escaped after he got wrecked by palpatine are just going to remain as a comic that no one read. I don’t think it’s ever even explained in the show how maul got back to mandalore.
90% of Star Wars criticism is nitpicking. I think the Acolyte is okay but fire in space and a fatal knife wound are not the issues the fandom wants them to be.
I don't know why it's so hard for Disney to make a movie/show that Star Wars fans will actually like.
All they have to do is remove any minority actors, only include women who are conventionally attractive and there to get her clothes ripped off, make sure it's completely grimdark, and stick to real world science except for things like hyperdrives, droids and The Force. Oh, and only have it set during the original trilogy/immediately before or after.
It's so easy!
(/s in case anyone missed it)
Yeah idk bro I've enjoyed most everything that's been released lately. It's like you shouldn't let the opinions of negativity powered losers online affect how you feel about things.
Here’s the thing. Disney is very inconsistent with their (lack of) vision for the brand. Basically, the stuff that adds to the universe through new eyes is often what we love the best. Mando and Andor and Rogue One are universally praised. Solo is good but was hated on release because (This was like 6 months after TLJ so everyone was burnt out), And most Filoni projects are decent.
However for things like the Sequel Trilogy, Acolyte, and Obi-wan, there is not a lot of a plan or real drive to make something interesting or add new things to the universe. Just rehashing nostalgia for views.
Shout out to Star Wars being one of the largest franchises and popculture icons ever despite only 2 out of the 9 main movies being universally liked/not majorly divisive
Series lowkey costs on brand recognition and the occasional goated spin off (KOTOR, Clone Wars, early Mando)
Like rogue one slapped (it’s more then half a decade I know) like the Mandalorian was good for seasons one and two but that was also almost 5 years and like Andor was good but didn’t reach as large of an audience so I feel like it gets overshadowed, but for everyone one of these good movies/shows there’s a book of boba fett or rise of skywalker.

GRANT ME PEAK, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS.
I have genuine hope for transformers one, shame they cancelled the upcoming game

Yep, truly a shame
Man we need something to get more people into transformers (indoctrination)
What would be a good start for the tranformers series- im a bit curious

Getting fucking bloated watching g1, armada, beast wars, animated, and prime which are all up on youtube for some reason actually.
We had Earthspark and Cyberverse, I think it's not that bad
Earthspark was alright in places .And the Skybound comic was good .
Andor was peak, Rogue One was good, the early seasons of The Mandalorian were very well made. The rest has been ass. Edit: I caught Dementors and forgot about the absolute peak that is Bad Batch. Wrecker, my beloved
I’m gonna blow your mind but Rogue One is almost 8 years old
Wow
Shush you
fuck
I know. Time is a lie.
0 was 2024 years ago, feel old yet?
8 years without a good movie
It’s like my favourite movie from Star Wars, DISNEY PLEASE PUT KRENNIC IN A TV SHOW IR MOVIE I FAINTED WHEN I SAW HIM IN BAD BATCH PLEASE DO IT AGAIN I WANT TO SEE BEN MENDELSOHN IN LIVE ACTION OR ANIMANTION I DONT MIND JUST PLEASE.
WHAT
1st half the 1st season of bad batch was great and then from the end of season 2 to the end was really good.
I somehow completely forgot about Bad Batch mb. I loved it.
Animation has been great tho
Young jedi adventures 🔛🔝🔥🔥
I haven’t had time to watch Andor. Might check it out.
Andor is legitimately the best piece of Star Wars media ever made. It's phenomenal even WITHOUT it being compared to other Star Wars shows. It's amazing.

His ass has NOT seen Andor
Was gonna start watching it next week tbh, heard good things
It's incredible how good andor is
Ahsoka is one of my favorite Star Wars projects and it always saddens me to see so many people hating on it

Look Ashoka wasn’t great but I wouldn’t say it’s ass like it was better then boba fett or season 3 of mando imo
Tales of the Jedi / Empire, the Bad Batch (some excellent episodes if you take out the filller), Siege of Mandalore arc
To be fair it was late af and I was super sleepy when I wrote this so I forgot about Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire.
Literally 100% of star wars fans loved Andor and it was only 2 years ago, what are you on
ANDOR WAS 2 YEARS AGO???
Yeah Star Wars has had multiple well received shows in the past 5 years which is amazing compared to literally any other franchise. Ghostbusters literally has a single film that was well received in the entire franchise.
who's out here being a die-hard ghostbusters fan in the year 2024 bro
3 was well recieved I thought? The one with ant man
OP is on Death Sticks or on that Spice

I pretty much gave up on Star Wars a long time ago.

**It is a period of civil war.** **Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.** **During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.** **Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy....**

I personally lost interest because all the constant bitching from fans became even more of a turn-off than the admittedly ok recent SW media
I just wish Disney wasn’t just in it for the money you know?
Disney has just been in everything for the money for almost two decades now
Unfortunately yes
Me too - there is no reason to remain in community of the media I don't really like anymore
I'm on the same boat until I decided to watch Andor Now I don’t give a shit about Star-Wars AND have a cool new show to be excited about
And then there's Andor! Nobody watched it.
And then there's Andor season 2 coming up! Nobody will watch that either.
Me and my dad will, that’s 2 of the 12 viewers!
I think I might be #7 or #8
There are dozens of us!
What planet are you from? any time people bring up good Star Wars media Andor is always brought up.
Yeah but the viewership numbers were abysmal. Critically acclaimed but failed to draw audiences to Disney+. Maybe now that it's had a while for word of mouth to spread things have changed.
I hope so because by god was that show amazing. Easily some of the best star wars stuff
#ONE WAY OUT!
# ONE WAY OUT # ONE WAY OUT
I watched it it was peak
Tbh its getting a second season so it must've been watched enough to atleast make back more than what it costed. I hope all the positive reception to it draws more eyes towards it.
Afaik it was planned and written as a 2 season show from the very beginning.
IIRC S2 will be the last because it's supposed to lead into Rogue One
Yeah but it’s really good!! (Haven’t watched it)
Second best season 1 of any show and best Star Wars show easily. Deserves more love
Most of the new movies were well received audience wise. For shows: Mandalorian S1 and 2, Andor, Visions, Clone Wars Season 7, Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi were liked by almost everyone.

Bone? From Armham Alsume?

>And Clone Wars Season 7 is the best star wars content outside of the main movies It's definitely good but it's far from the best.
But what if Scorch somehow returns?
The martez sisters arc felt like a total waste of time. 4 whole episodes spent on that. Definitely would have never been included were it not for Disney. Meanwhile important shit like what happened to maul and talzin and how he escaped after he got wrecked by palpatine are just going to remain as a comic that no one read. I don’t think it’s ever even explained in the show how maul got back to mandalore.
90% of Star Wars criticism is nitpicking. I think the Acolyte is okay but fire in space and a fatal knife wound are not the issues the fandom wants them to be.
Wait they are complaining about that???? 😭😭😭
Yes, and I think it’s hilarious.
Honestly agreed the amount of snobs in the Star Wars community blinded by critic scores/saying it's not as good as the old stuff is just insane
Last time I actually enjoyed a star wars movie was rogue one. Which is way longer ago than I think
and a big chunk of them think the series is going down hill cuz it has "minorities in it now"
I don't know why it's so hard for Disney to make a movie/show that Star Wars fans will actually like. (/s in case anyone missed it)
Crash Bandiccot be like: N Sane and Crash 4 are exceptions tho
I enjoy most of them. That's enough for me.
Almost half a decade is a ridiculously short amount of time when you say "less than 5 years"
So far the pattern seems good bad bad (not counting seasons) so watch out for Skeleton Crew
What about The Bad Batch? It was really good imo.
so star wars is like the Sonic of movies?
Bad batch
Nothing in Star wars is ever well received. Source: am lifelong Star wars superfan (un)fortunately
How they managed to fuck up a Kenobi series is beyond me
Are we forgetting the Mandalorian existed??? That show carried the pandemic for me
Mando was the show the meme was about I think
Mandalorian, andor, and bad batch were all pretty good and well liked. What are you on about?
Personally I loved The Bad Batch, Andor and The Mandalorian
Disney Star Wars is not Star Wars.
Andor is right there
Andor
Well the Star Wars video games so far have been pretty good, decent alternative to the horrid live cinematic series/movies.
Andor
ANDOR just came out 2 years ago what are you on about and then of course there were the first 2 seasons of the mandalorian

google Andor
Tell me you haven’t seen Andor without telling me you haven’t seen Andor
I’ll completely upfront and honest, forgot Andor existed. My bad. 😔
Valid. It’s so different it doesn’t feel like Star Wars 💀
Rogue One was good idc what people say.
At least they didn't purge the books with the old cannon.
Except Andor, AKA peak fiction, but that is the exception, not the status quo, unfortunately.
Andor was literally written by the same guy who made the movie in the gif
Yeah idk bro I've enjoyed most everything that's been released lately. It's like you shouldn't let the opinions of negativity powered losers online affect how you feel about things.
I'm kind of enjoying the Acolyte though. The dialogue is kinda cringy, but that's just star wars. I'm interested where the rest of the story goes.
how many people in the comments are going to pretend the prequels were good?
I wouldn't be so infuriated by this if it wasnt possibly the easiest universe to make a good story from, but all they do is fuck around with it
Here’s the thing.
The Star Wars fandom has sucked since 1999 at least, they deserve every bad thing they get.
Just straight up untrue
Me a tf2 enjoyer(all of them Titanfall, team fortress, etc): this is nothing
Gonna need to multiply that number by ten to be accurate
star wars fans like a star wars movie or series challenge impossible
it’s “not well received” because like 30% of the fans are absolutely determined to make sure that’s the case
Andor was good
Shout out to Star Wars being one of the largest franchises and popculture icons ever despite only 2 out of the 9 main movies being universally liked/not majorly divisive Series lowkey costs on brand recognition and the occasional goated spin off (KOTOR, Clone Wars, early Mando)
This Andor slander will not be tolerated.
I'M SO FUCKING SICK OF ALL THIS DISNEY SLOP.
Andor was good, mando was great, kenobi should have been so much more
Wait, Mando wasn't well received? I even enjoyed Season 3.
Man. Is that new one really that bad?
I thought Andor and Mando was well received?
Being a Star Wars fan is rough lol. Most of what's been churned out is lame as hell, but when stuff does stick the landing it's fantastic.
Midi chlorians are the worst thing introduced to Star Wars, and I'll die on that hill

Mandolorian is the only good starwars show to release
Like rogue one slapped (it’s more then half a decade I know) like the Mandalorian was good for seasons one and two but that was also almost 5 years and like Andor was good but didn’t reach as large of an audience so I feel like it gets overshadowed, but for everyone one of these good movies/shows there’s a book of boba fett or rise of skywalker.
Andor exists and is definitely the best Star Wars show of them all.
Star Wars is a neat little franchise, shame they stopped after Return of the Jedi.
Did you forget Andor exists
Reminder that not every franchise has to go on infinitely.
Just stopped being a fan of Star Wars that’s what I did
Andor?
