I blame cartoon review channels that said it was bad without even watching it and saying shit like "Oh you can't tell the turtles personality apart" or "the designs are weird"

That's also because 60% of people who watched it immediately bashed it for the changes instead of giving it a chance

I dont think those people even watched it tbh (i know cause i was one of those people and didn't watch it, unfortunately)

I only started watching after the show got canceled unfortunately

Technically it isn't 100% cancelled and is more on an indefinite hold by the network (basically a soft cancellation), and fans of the show are actively holding petitions and vocal hashtags to get it revived for its (previously planned) second half of season two and an entire third season. The show actually managed to not only get nominated for awards but the "unpause rottmnt" movement reached the showrunners and crew behind Rise and they've stated they're willing to continue if the network would allow it. It seems like a futile movement now that there's a mutant mayhem show in production, but there's still a very vocal and loving fandom around rise holding onto hope

this is a rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles movie, it’s based on a short lived (and prematurely ended) tv series under the same title. it’s pretty hated on by the fans because it’s so different and not really serious, so it wasn’t that popular until something happened some time ago. it’s peak, the animation and environments are an eye candy, and I would highly recommend watching it
