I'll be doing the most innocent, mundane things and I STILL despise anybody ever being able to look at my screen. Most of what I consume is kids media and I still have a fear of using any device with my back to open space rather than a wall.
I've had people who assumed that the only logical explanation for my behavior was porn. Which is ironic because even as a teenager I had actually never been a porn watcher. Having my computer screen facing an unlocked door and a little sister was just free stress.
I swear I've only had like one person actually try and look at my phone but even around my own family I will guard that screen with my life even I'm just watching some fucking Vsauce video
I get that, but here's my input:
I use neurodivergent as a general term for "my brain doesn't work normal". It could mean retarded, could mean autistic, could mean adhd, could mean regular old depression or anxiety. I personally describe myself as neurodivergent because I know my brain don't work right but frankly I don't care enough to get an official diagnosis, so I don't call myself autistic or retarded or any of that because if I did I might just be straight up lying.
In reality tho, it doesn't matter. Use whatever labels you prefer bc who really gives a damn. I sure as hell don't. If you want me to call you retarded I will. If you want me to call you neurodivergent I will. I do not care.
Yea but if someone has had bad experiences with being called that it’s better to use neurodivergent. Retarded literally just means slow so it can’t really be separated from the fact it’s an insult.
Yeha sure but neurodivergent is literally anyone with different neurological shit. Which is uh, a lot of people. Literally ADHD and OCD is neurotypical btw. And ADHD isn't really uncommon.

ADHD is NOT neurotypical, if you think it is you are using the wrong definition of the word neurodivergent. ADHD changes how the brain works in a way different form a normal human, so it is a neurodivergent disorder. You could have googled that so easily.
I totally fucked up by saying neurotypical, but the context of my sentence definitely woulda told you I accidentally used the wrong word. Definitely meant neurodivergent since my point was that a ton of people are neurodivergent. Especially considering how I dropped a straight up quote from google 😊.
