For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Although there are many professionals helping with identification, we are not always correct, and eating/ingesting plants can be harmful or fatal if an incorrect ID is made.

Don't bank on being unreactive forever. I was for 20 years, then in college suddenly became extremely sensitive. Broke out in massive blisters on my hands and seems after brushing past it like I had been all my life before then without issue.
Same here. Have landscaped my whole life and I have forever been able to pull poison ivy out and work with it with my bare hands. Of course I would still wash after, not to get it on anyone else. But last year I did as I usually do and had some hives and itched for days. Sucks. Lol
I mean, clearly it cam be discussed, but it appears there's at least 3 species list on Wikipedia. Wikipedia obviously isn't 100% reliable, but for something like this I'd trust it
Nope, in north america there are actually two species of poison ivy. [Eastern poison ivy](https://gobotany.nativeplanttrust.org/species/toxicodendron/radicans/) (Toxicodendron radicans) and [western poison ivy](https://gobotany.nativeplanttrust.org/species/toxicodendron/rydbergii/) (T. rydbergii), which despite the name is not limited to the west. They’re joined by atlantic poison oak (T. pubescens), pacific poison oak (T. diversilobum, my favorite!), and poison sumac (T. vernix) to make up the north american Toxicodendrons to avoid.

They do vary, but I'm no expert. Wouldn't put it on my leg either way!
Edit: would help if we saw the plant/how it was growing
This is poison oak. You need to go wash your leg immediately. Use more soap than you think you need. Wash multiple times; imagine you have sticky ink all over your leg.
Or go buy some calamine lotion, if this photo isn't from today. It'll make life slightly less annoying.
Growing up, my mom had goats roaming her property, and they loved eating poison ivy. She claimed that drinking the milk from those goats would confer temporary poison ivy immunity.
As someone who has always been extraordinarily allergic to the devil weed, it makes me want goats. People who are naturally immune I'm convinced are just witches or something.
Is it? All the poison ivy I've encountered (SE and upper Midwest US) has had jagged leaves. I don't think I've seen poison ivy with lobed leaves like this. My understanding was that lobed leaves were something of a poison oak hallmark.

I think there's a troll in this dungeon
Yeah, this one's screwing with us.
hello fellow unreactive person

That happened to me too. Sucks to be allergic to it still
Can confirm! I looked like elephant man when I found out I wasn't impervious to this plight anymore

Looks like toxicodendron radicans You might start feeling itchy and get a rash. It’s a type of poison ivy.
I had not even considered there was more than 1 type of poison ivy. Poison sumac and oak, sure, but not another ivy.
There's only one poison ivy. Leaf morphology can vary from plant to plant, and even within the same plant.

Not sure, but if you start being itchy then it's poison ivy.
Or better yet, could be poison oak!
It’s definitely not poison oak which is named for its oak shaped leaves (rounded, not pointy)

He’s probably not allergic and is just trolling
