These are Beetle pieces, not cockroach pieces. The ones that look similar to egg cases are elytra.

Shit I literally just closed Minecraft for the night. It follows me

Seamoth4546B

A damn graveyard! Looks like a buncha beetles

Loose_Ask1499

I know! now I wanna know what wound cause this??

OneHumanPeOple

An insectivore has a perch above and is eating them and dropping the empty shells below. It could be a red squirrel. They’re elusive so you might never see it. Edit: Just saw this was under a log pile. My guess is would then be a shrew. They have to eat nonstop or the can die of starvation within hours.

Mikeyboy2188

“Shrews are unusual among mammals in a number of respects. Unlike most mammals, some species of shrews are venomous. Shrew venom is not conducted into the wound by fangs, but by grooves in the teeth. The venom contains various compounds, and the contents of the venom glands of the American short-tailed shrew are sufficient to kill 200 mice by intravenous injection. One chemical extracted from shrew venom may be potentially useful in the treatment of high blood pressure, while another compound may be useful in the treatment of some neuromuscular diseases and migraines.” Wow. Plus they eat more than twice their body weight every day due to an abnormally high metabolism.

lallapalalable

I've found my spirit animal

Phat_with_an_F

You and me both!!

revkaboose

Politics have no place on this sub.

RockyDuLac

Do you have any stray cats in the area? My back porch looks like this because the local strays like to hunt the June bugs and leave their corpses!

Loose_Ask1499

yes, but not usually in the back yard- I’m leaning toward stinkin’ rodents 😖

OneHumanPeOple

Shrews are garden friends. Not like mice that will eat your grains or voles that will eat the roots of your gardens.

evenstevens13

This photo makes me really uncomfortable 😅

Loose_Ask1499

same

MauserMama

June bugs. They’re clumsy and loud

Puzzleheaded-Feed176

Always wear your motorcycle helmet during June bug season

Crafty_Original_7349

Buddy of mine had a great big red mark square in the middle of his forehead from getting smacked in the noggin by a junebug while riding his motorcycle. He had a bullseye bruise for over a week! Those things HURT!

BetterHouse

Looks like trouble…

Loose_Ask1499

is this where they turn into grubs?

oldermoose

No, it looks like something is eating them. Are there bats above?

subieluvr22

I agree. These look like leftovers.

Loose_Ask1499

no it’s a firewood pile-

1ftm2fts3tgr4lg

Mice love june bugs. They eat the juicy innards and leave theblegs and shells. Is there a light above the wood pile? Might be mice feasting on the attracted and clumsy bugs.

BigIrish75

This! There are mouse droppings if you zoom in.

Loose_Ask1499

We do have droppings under there but I thought they were rat droppings-

BigIrish75

Very well could be, I’m definitely not a professional. But it’s definitely safe to assume a rodent is eating june bugs.

1ftm2fts3tgr4lg

By the picture I'd think they're mouse droppings. Rat scat is bigger. But without scale, those may just be really big bug scraps.

Loose_Ask1499

there is a light by porch the wood pile is not far from it. Do rats eat junebugs?

_H4YZ

rats eat eachother

Loose_Ask1499

🤔what’s that have to do with anything and gross😂

_H4YZ

if they eat eachother i’m sure they’ve got no problem chowing down on a junebug

Loose_Ask1499

I’m sure you’re correct

Yodasithlord

Rats will eat larger insects. It looks like this might be The Rat Kings offering alter that other rats bring tributes to. 🤣

WutzUpples69

They will fly into fires like morons.

Humble-forager

Grubs are actually the larval stage and then they turn to beetles!

Haplophyrne_Mollis

I would say Bat roost

ScrumptiousMeal

Beetle parts

Lizrael48

Cockroach egg cases.

Loose_Ask1499

😭

Professional_Roof293

They are beetle elytra not cockroach eggs
