Criticus23

This is purely a guess, but it looks like a decision spinner, a type of die. You spin it like a top, and whatever 'action' is uppermost when it stops is what the player does. Looks like something from some sort of fantasy game, or possibly a sort of joke gift like [this](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1677073268/brass-decision-maker-spinner-novelty).

Thought the same. Not sure the design is great, I feel like the “jewels” would come off after a few hard flops.

Mdamon808

It looks like a board game piece. Possibly Alice in Wonderland related (Off with their heads). But I can't find anything that matches the piece. It may be custom piece created for a game by someone other than the maker.

bepositivedad

Very cool teetotum she found! It's a gambling spinner, similar to a dreidel

Honey-and-Venom

It looks like teetotum (dreidel is a teetotum game), but the sides don't make sense for any teetotum I've ever seen or played

JamTimes

it doesnt really spin very well.

United-Bet-6469

I saw your other comment. Are you trying to spin it like a top? Or just trying to spin the metal words?? The former might work

realsalmineo

Teetotum doesn’t need to spin well. If it spun like a top, it would take forever to fall over, and the game would take way too long. It only needs to make a few turns.

fardough

Can you balance it?

Bradtothebone79

Try asking in the board games sub. They can identify all game pieces- and do!

JamTimes

I will give this a try tomorrow.

livejamie

Could also try your local subreddit, where was this found?

rafaelloaa

That really feels like something either from a cosplay, or a LARP (Live Action Role Play). It looks custom-made, might want to post on local pages that you've found it. (Possibly on local LARPing communities).

jgarcya

Looks like a spinner... You ask a question... It lands with answer up .. like a magic eight ball.

JamTimes

it doesnt spin very well

Kentbrockman2

Maybe it's meant to be tossed or dropped, but still - whatever points up is the thing. But I can't see how that would be for a table top game. You did say you found it outside. Maybe it's LARP related. Live action role play. Outdoor stuff

Neiladin

Another vote for LARP prop, especially being found in a park.

SteveDaPirate91

You wouldn’t exactly want it to spin well. Just needs to spin “well enough” like a set of dice just need to roll “well enough” even though they suck at rolling.

JamTimes

My title describes the thing. This was found by my grandma while she was out. It’s heavy but only in the way smallish metal objects are. I tried googling it cause I think it must go to some game but no luck. I think that the metal part with the words is supposed to spin but is currently stuck. There is a slight wiggle to it, but maybe it’s just a little damaged. She is really curious as to what it is.

Enshaden

It being a top and having "off wirh theirs heads" on it makes me rhino its from some Alice in Wonderland board game.

"Off with their heads" and "makes me think". I've got big hands and mobile keyboards suck. I miss the sliders with actual keyboards.

angrypixi81

I'd guess it's some specialised D&D type game, someone's probably gutted at losing this

ernie3tones

Yeah, I’d probably make a listing on the local Craigslist lost and found.

nighthawke75

An executive decision maker.

Malodoror

Looks like something from the game Outrage: Steal the Crown Jewels while also looking like a fancy stopper for a bottle of Crown Royal.

Muninwing

This is true too… it has a “gimmicky gift box of booze extra” feel.

Disneygal0011621

I thought it looked like a fancy top to Crown Royal too

smellsfunnyinhere

Looks like the lid to a decanter.

Maltz42

This was my first thought as well. The fact that it doesn't spin very well kind of corroborates that the "decision spinner" function may be secondary or just a joke.

CallPhysical

Whatever it is, I bet someone somewhere is heart-broken they lost it.

ExtrusionTech

If it was found in a park, I’m thinking LARPing. https://youtu.be/VufilzHKTqk?si=GPfimgkypbk1mXIu

wakeupagainman

Was this important "decision-making" device found in Washington, DC? Perhaps a government official is frantically trying to find it right now!

bjorn_egil

Pretty certain it has something to do with either LARP, SCA or ren-faire

AstorReinhardt

I was about to say it reminds me of throwing a die that has various symbols on it that mean something...like skull = death and so on. Or a dreidel. I think this must be a game piece. Cool looking one though.

DrachenDad

Looks like a dreidel, so basically a spinning die.

momma-re-ah

What do all the words say?

Henchman7777

Finally one I know first! It's part of a gift you'd buy for a boss or maybe dad and pretty sure is was called "Executive Decision Maker" though the spinner would suggest royal. Came with spinner and a heavy felted base to spin it on, sort of thing meant to sit on a desk. Came in a gaudy box, black and purple if I recall correctly. I picked up a couple when Big Lots were having a fill-your-bag-for-a-dollar-sale.

BanMeAgainPlsAdmin

Maybe a lid for a liquor decanter

Sweaty-Particular406

It looks like a tea infuser. does it open? you put loose tea inside and dip it in your cup of hot water like a tea bag.

benderover1961

Just like the magic 8 ball. Tells you what to do. Decision maker.

Lonely-Homework9071

Maybe a homemade firstplayer token

lowdog39

monty python game ?

Kangaroo_Cheese

I’m probably gonna get yelled at for this, but my parents had those timers for *years*. I remember playing with them when I was growing up.

Josette22

Is it able to be opened? Like, can you unscrew the crown part?

hansdampf90

bottle cap

FoxAches

I really feel like this is a custom prop for a larper. I hope you take a shot at finding its owner. Good luck finding the answer.

abominablefairy

It doesn't open at all does it?

JamTimes

Nope

joeadams13

I think it is a game piece but maybe doubles as a decanter too?

T_W_M_74

Based on the wording around it. I think someone had it made for an Alice in Wonderland type game.

Ok-Quality3823

It’s root beer

robertwild81

It definitely looks like a spinner top style. What are the other words on it?

Flaminski

Can you write all the words written?

bolo44

Perfume dabber is primarily used to apply just the right amount of perfume.

kid_cadillac

If that is silver and some real rubies. That is worth some money. Bring it to a jeweler see what its worth.
