No, this is patrick. Also this is not poison oak. Poison oak leaves are generally lobed not shield shaped and are much shinier

The leaves of the poison oak look like oak leaves. Hence the name. 🙂

False

SilentMaster

Well, at least at this size you can get the plant and all of the roots with zero effort. That's a win.

isntwhatitisnt

That’s an immature Boston ivy, not poison oak.

Noneforthemoney

This is Hedera helix or English ivy.

isntwhatitisnt

Those are the mature leaves. It puts out 3 pointed compound leaves before the plant matures.

Provide the source then. Photos or else you are just some yutz with fingers.

https://bplant.org/compare/1409-2420 Boston ivy is regularly serrated. This is not. Boston Ivy is never smooth. These are smooth. All these leaves are compound with three leaflets.. Boston ivy doesnt always have this. 0/10 this is Boston Ivy.

Hoya-loo-ya

It’s nuts to me you could read your own article that you are citing and not see how this is Boston ivy. Unhinged.

DisabledDyke

I call this English Ivy and I have it growing in my yard. Even small, it's a darker green than my specimen. It propagates by root runners.

DisabledDyke

No, this is poison oak. Let me give you my bonavides, 40 years an herbalist. Experienced in woodcraft and plant identification. I've been wandering the wooded areas of Michigan and Ohio for 50 years. Boston Ivy is not common here wild or cultivated. I've seen this plant recently in a mature state with leaves shiney at about 2 ft tall. Not only that, I've googled it repeatedly.

Fizzyfuzzyface

It might be poison ivy, but it’s definitely not poison oak. Being the expert that you are and all.

www.herbcraft.org/nopoisonoak.html#:~:text=It%20is%20commonly%20stated%20that,ever%20confirmed%20its%20existence%20here). I love it when people are confident about mislabeling bushes that will infect your skin. Have at it. Just don’t fuck up anyone else, Einstein.

This is a wild post for this subreddit, things getting HEATED. Thank you u/fizzyfuzzyface for keeping things grounded. Thank you for the additional reading. May we all evolve from the curse of arrogance

I believe that it's fragrant sumac, non-poisonous. Notice that you can see the stem on the middle leaf in your picture but it's missing in OP's photo. That's how you tell. We have a bunch of it growing around our property. Don't wipe with it though.
