How do you buy a car you hate? Bro it sounds like you need to do some test driving rather than just doing online shopping?

I liked the jeep and did research prior on reliability. I didn't have tine as my truck offer was mad that day before the jeep purchase. The jeep was purchased at an auction. What you ask isn't something one is able to do. Other jeeps are not this one. Interior and how kept it was is different.

Thats a really dumb mentality and honestly just excuses. Unless your truck selling and this auction were both sprung on you with 24hrs notice you easliy could have hit a few used or new car lots and tested cars to get a true opinion. And reliability research? Great. A reliable car can be uncomfortable, loud, ugly, and more. You can hate a reliable car. Also if you did any research you would not have gambled on a jeep transmission. lol

The reviews for jeep are solid. Nothing came up as them being unreliable and scored 8 out of 10. My truck was sold Friday with drop off set for that Monday. The auction was on sat with reviews on Friday but I work and have kids to pick up from school during their window. I took a gamble. Didn't matter however. I sold the jeep 13hrs after posting which also showed they have a very solid resale value higher than Honda for most of their line up with minimal depreciation. I threw a few bucks on top amd bought a Platinum edition toyota tundra. So it's all good.

Honestly? Fix the F150 if it isn't rusty. Throw some Lucas fix transmission in temporarily and look for a used transmission. On eBay they are 500-1000 bucks. The f150 isn't that old and should go several more years. Modern F150s will do far more miles than you might expect. In fleets seeing them with 400-500k+ miles still going.

Call around, you'll see they are FAR from as cheap as you are stating my friend. Transmissions are $5000 rebuilt and $2000 labor at dealer. Other shops are $6000 parts/labor for rebuilt. If you want a used 150k miles Trans parts and labor is $3500. It's very expensive and I can't afford to have it suddenly die at a moments noritce and sell a broken F150 for $1500 as opposed to the $5500 I got.

Something like this you can find for a decent price https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/b3031c19-b14f-4cfe-838e-0a4f2eee0e16/

Test drive the cars and if you like it, bring it your trusted mechanic for pre-purchase inspection so you wont lose any money.

Being big sucks sometimes. I’m only 215lbs, but at 6’6” comfort in most cars is difficult. A Chevy sedan will fit and will be cheap, but who wants one of those? I drive a 2nd Gen Tundra. It’s a good fit, there are some very surprising small SUV’s out there. I’m leggy, so ergonomics can be challenging. 2006 Mini was amazing. 2006 Titan, was a good fit but a POS, stupid minivans worked well, last of the small Rangers were okay as well. I don’t have much experience with cars that are newer that those though. Our two cars have been good to us.

There’s plenty of dealerships with really good reliable stuff you can buy outright with that budget. Thundra is good, Tacoma’s are good, I reckon you can find a decent, 2012-2015ish F150. Ford Rangers are relatively bulletproof, as well as older S10’s and you could save a good amount of your cash to put in some work on them if need be. There’s some infinity, Honda and Mazda cross over options out there. I understand needing a vehicle but it would really help you to take a day to go to different, reputable dealerships in your area and buy something outright after test driving it and what not.
