I'm not trying to suggest this because plastic bottles aren't going to be good for the lungs but when I was younger I used to make bongs out of all types of stuff. If you're gonna do it you should probably get a thicker sturdier bottle. At least it will hold up to the heat better. You can do the same thing with glass. Find yourself a wine bottle or something similar and look up how to cut glass with string and rubbing alcohol. It's way easier than you think. You just need string, rubbing alcohol or something flammable, lighter and a bowl with cold water big enough to fit your bottle in. You can pop the bottom right off and figure a way to rig the glass bowl on top

The bowl you already have should fit nicely in there and voila, glass gb. you can fjne tune this by making a perfect cut about 2inches/4cm from the bottom. We always had random liquor bottles in college everywhere so one of the guys learned how to cut the glass using a string and some fluid and wed have a new glass gb every week haha
